I bought 3 of these after watching this video and I couldnt be happier. They cast a mile and have more than enough drag. I'll be getting a bunch more for my guide service after having tested them for 2 years. Appreciate the video that led me to them.
@trophy fish outdoors Question... While waiting on a bite, if you want the clicker to sound off, do you have to: 1. Engage the clicker 2. Click the thumb bar to release the lock on the spool? If so, is there a chance that a fish could strike hard and cause the spool to backlash?
@@flippindocks8183 Yes and Yes and No. I have never had a fish pull hard enough with the clicker engaged and the spool release pressed. There is still tension on the line provided by the clicker mechanism so you aren't in free spool.

I'm going to buy 2 of these reels. The only thing that worries me is the reel seat you mentioned. Ask anyone that knows me, I treat my fishing equipment like it precious gold, or like they are my children. I own mostly Abu Garcia reels. I'm very excited to purchase these reel, I will not be putting power handles, can't stand them, I like 110 mm handles, to each their own. Thank you very much for your review. If you think of anything else on this reel let me know, thanks.
One more thing, doesn't the level wind get out of sync with the spool line? and if so, doesnt that create a problem with it getting broke when fighting big fish?
The 2 things I don't like are the disengaged level wind when casting and the clicker. I've run into the issue of having line lay problems when the level wind doesn't move with the line when casting and reeling. As for the clicker, it sounds cheap compared to some other models that are only a few bucks more. Other than that, these are pretty good reels for the amount of money spent. I use mine for trolling for king salmon in northern California.
My ONLY complaint with them is I wish the spool held more. With 40# mono and the distance these can throw, there just ins't a on of line on the reel after the cast. If you use braid you'll get more line for sure, but as time goes on, I am so sick of untangling braid when a fish wraps up several of your rods. And I wish they came with the power handle, which is a necessity in my opinion.
Excellent review👌, I'm looking to buy one of these baitcasters real soon, I already bought the rod I will connect it to, an Okuma Celiloo 7'6" Heavy action casting rod. Thank you 👍
@@CatchingDinosaurs Quick ?, with the internal breaking system inside, what's the best setting for the pins(turn on top & turn on bottom, or turn on in triangler for optimal casting for a 1oz jig? I'll be using 40lb braid, I want to get it super far out there. Thank you.
Would a medium or medium heavy be better for this rod? I'm looking at the Ugly Stik Tiger in 7ft. I would be using the rod and reel for kings and surf casting for drum and rock off of the outer banks.
It does. Growing up, my dad always had an ugly stik of some sort. I have a GX2 and an ELite and just bought my dad a GX2 for Father's Day. Best bang for the buck rods and my favorites out of all my rods (Penn, Duckett, Diawa, etc).
Ciao! Lo consigli questo mulinello per pesca al luccio? A cosa serve quel selettore che fa rumore come la frizione, che si trova vicino al freno centrifugo? Helpp!! 🇮🇹🇮🇹
Been fishing my whole life, last four years out of a kayak on Monterey Bay. A lot of guys using bit casters. I bought. Diawa Lexi-solid. And this feels good too, but the side plate and spool pops off far too easily. Dropped into water first time out-Kastking did replace. Anyone else having this problem?
What are you getting when you spend $300.00 verses a $100.00 on a baitcasting reel? Im interested in the quality components like steel gears, quality of ball bearing. Too me a 200% increase in price is alot for reels when they are all made in China. I have fished spinning reels my whole life but it seems a baitcaster is the way to go for distance. Thanks.
Great Reel. I just Order The New Kastking CNC Aluminum Handle. Similar to yours. Have 50 Lb. Power Pro Braided Line. Wish Kastking send me Rods or Reels. Well don't need them. I have Kapstan 300 and Sharky III 500 both with Speed Demon Pro Cast & Spinning Rods. Need a GoPro Hero 8. If someone knows who can Sponsored one.

I'm right handed and use a left handed baitcaster. It works the same as a spinning reel if you do it that way. You don't have to switch hands after every cast and you can keep the rod in your stronger hand. As soon as I switch to LH reels I could cast for longer amounts of time, less fatigue.

Im gonna pass on that reel. Im not very impressed. I need a smoother clicker drag for my gar fishing. I will stick with my Penn Slammer 8000 and 10000 reels.

That would be perfect for the jetties throwing spoons for jacks or monster reds.
Perfect for that im buy some for port A. But a king would be awesome on it.

Great video man can you tell me what power handle do you have on the reel
Nice! 👍🏻 Have you tried kastking braid? The heavier braid around 80-100# or so..
I appreciate the response! It’s very affordable compared to the power pro I use, I’m going to switch when it’s time to respool
A plastic reel seat for heavier duty work wont work for me
What rod do you have it paired with
Where to get the handle?
The the reel ever engage with that power handle while casting?
What rod?!
What rods are you using?
Does it have a free floating spool?
Saltwater safe? How is the maintenance on it?

65-70 yards is not how far you threw it. Maybe 30-40, which is actually great!! But your perception on distance is a bit off. Good post though.
