Today we're going to look at some of the worst Super Bowl Commercials that came out of the woodwork to feed on my will to live. This year we had two super bowl ads about the pay gap, two ads about immigration, and one about a sexualized Mr. Clean. If that isn't enough to convince you to sleep your final sleep, I know not what will.

My haircuts only cost 15 dollars twice a year because I don't dye my hair or get any treatments done to it. Sure I buy sexy undies, but I wouldn't die without them. I don't need them. If I couldn't afford those, I could get a lot of ugly, strictly utilitarian panties for like ten bucks. Then implying that men don't care about skin care is stupid... Plenty of men care about all that shit too. Hell, my fiances haircuts cost more than mine half the time because his hair is super dry and he gets moisturizing treatments for his hair and if he gets a shave too? They were acting like her buying fancy designer clothing was something she had to do and that's what the average women buys. I'm a millennial going to law school and somehow I turned out more conservative than my mom, who actually believes the gender pay gap exists. When I tried to explain to her how it's just a completely misrepresented statistic and there isn't a mass conspiracy to pay women less because vagina, she said I was being naive and then insinuated that I was being an uncle tom by not believing men are conspiring to fuck over women! Hearing this divisive lie so often is becoming ridiculously frustrating.

I don't pay more for a haircut. I got my hair cut by a friend so that only cost me 5-10€ and now I cut it myself. I buy men's razors because I'm not into pink and I don't believe in built in fucking gel or something in those stupid pink razors. I buy my underwear mostly when its on sale or somewhere affordable. That first ad, yeah, kicking scolding coffee at your manager is a great way to asking for equal "pay."
What gets me is that it is an earnings gap, not a wage gap. Denying the wage gap with facts doesn't work well. So I make it a habit to point out that their is true in part, but when you separate earnings from wages the argument makes more sense!
Well, the real gap is just average earnings of men vs. average earnings of women, which ignores the fact that more men work in higher paying jobs and that there are more male millionaires.

I actually did some Googling, and to even reach 50 Dollars a month, you would have to buy the most expensive pads I could find, Always Infinity Overnight Heavy Flow 24 ct ($7 per pack), and change your pad EVERY HOUR, even during the night (which nobody does) for a whole 7-day period. If you're spending that much, you're either dealing with a menstrual disorder, or you're choosing to spend that much.

What I find weird about those ads is the companies must have someone who understands statistics on their payroll (for financial and advertising performance reviews). They could just consult that statistician on why the math used to "prove" the wage gap is faulty. The information is out there, they should know better. But I guess pandering to misinformed people is more profitable.
The Rational Channel the problem is that they are two different part of the company and if it's a bug one like Audi they are not connected directly. Different managers executors. And when the manager decided not to ask for the assistance of the statistics department that caused this abomination. Or the other reason is that the film was almost already done when they consulted with someone at the statistic department and they decided it's too late now and had to roll with it.

I bench tested a 2011 MacBook pro with an Asus I have with the same specs both running Steam OS & got pretty much identical results.

I have never seen any pay gap... In my earlier work there was a set pay scale and equal raises. In management there is an equal base salary and bonuses, promotions, raises were all based on achievements, ability to promote yourself, peer reviews, etc.. If there is a pay gap it is because some people don't apply themselves, work less or don't perform well.

Good video but I have no idea why you had no issue with the 84 Lumber immigration ad. It basically conveys that illegal immigration should be a right, that there's nothing wrong with it. The mother and daughter are trying to cross illegally and the ad completely justifies it and makes Americans feel guilty for having a border and trying to enforce our laws. Also nice playing on emotion, a little sad girl. Let's ignore all the criminals, drug runners, rapists, murderers, who also cross into the U.S. illegally. But nice to know Chris did not find that ad objectionable.

I barely have an issue with any ads because quite frankly, I don't much care about anything anymore. The only reason I even mentioned the wage gap ads is because they're literally falsehoods. They're lies disguised as fact. The immigration ad is just an opinion piece. I said in the video that the message is questionable, but it's clearly displaying a point of view using a clearly fictionalized setting (a future where the wall exists.)
It's not lying to the audience, which is my whole thing. I don't care about the perspective of an ad as long as it doesn't make absurd statements that can be categorically debunked.
But Chris.... the point of the 84 Lumber commercial is that we shouldn't be stopping illegals at all....and there's something VERY wrong with that message.

There are few things that make me want to vomit more than this stupid fucking 'wage gap' myth. I work in a field that is dominated by women. Guess what? I work harder (and I mean that I objectively and measurably work far more) and I am paid less than my female colleagues. This isn't even a matter of 'Equal Pay for Equal Work.' This is a matter of 'Let's shit on that guy.'
I have also routinely been passed over for promotions. I just could not get ahead, no matter what I did, the responsibilities I shouldered, or how well I performed. It really was the female equivalent of a 'Good Ol' Boys Club' and they didn't even bother to make it much of a secret.
Luckily for me, I just landed a new job with an entirely different organization and I'll finally be making more than even my current boss does. But go ahead and call me salty and vindictive, because I am. I've been putting up with this shit for four and a half years, all while having to listen to this fucking 'wage gap' horseshit that makes me want to just fucking punch someone's teeth out of their goddamn head.
