The best accordion players are like the best banjo players in one way:
they play their instrument in such a fashion it brings out the "joy" in
the sound. A great banjo player makes his banjo "ring", and a great
accordion player like Myron Floren makes his accordion "dance" as
if the instrument itself were skipping across the floor with joy.
R.I.P. Myron Floren, America's favorite accordion man.

Heinz, thanks so much for sharing your videos of Myron Floren. I idolized him when I was a young kid back in the 50s.

He looked better than people twenty years his junior. I guess playing the accordion keeps you young!

He said it saved his life in his book, something to do with the arteries in his arms being like highways. He was ill and having excellent circulation had something to do with him surviving, I forget the details.

Years ago, l heard a guy play the accordion, he played a hymn at a church l was attending. I do not remember the hymn, unfortunately, but do remember how well he played and how so lovely it was. Do not know what happened to that guy, just hope he is well.

Totally "much too fast" Try dancing to that one. A habit of Mr Welk's...............go as fast as possible. Not so good. Myron is the best though, no matter what needs to be done.
