Leipzig would have HATED all the camera cuts. Pretty much the number 1 rule of any sleight of hand magic. Minimum (or better..NO) camera cuts! Especially during the sleight of hand.
first of all it's wild to think you know what Leipzig, who died in 1939, would think about the filming and editing of magic instructional DVDs in the 1990s. secondly, the camera cuts here only allow you to better see the handling, as you would expect from an instructional piece of video. Nothing is hidden and in fact if you were familiar with the techniques used here that would be obvious! it sounds like you are interested in learning close-up card magic, and if so I would take a YT break and instead check out The Royal Road to Card Magic by Hugard and Braue, or if you have a few more dollars then try Card College vol.1 by Roberto Giobbi. Both excellent books which are readily available. Enjoy!
That's an impressive trick right there. What's the name of this particular effect do you know?
Malone magic!
Leipzig Would Have Loved This, it was on Malone Meets Marlo, I don't remember which volume

@@johnmartinmagic All the more reason not to have so many camera cuts.
