Quite popular. When she went on tour in Japan in 1966, there are rumors of her getting chased down by a crowd of crazed fans. Apparently, one of them was holding scissors, trying to get a lock of her hair. Thankfully, she got away unscathed. Something about the quirky writing of her music and her innocent girl-next-door sexual appeal made her a massive pop idol. It’s just a shame that some people place her sexual appeal over the actual music. It’s abundant in many of her fans too, unfortunately. Perhaps that’s why she always disliked the idea of having a fan club, people tend to write her off as perfect in all ways, idolizing her to god level proportions. Hero Worship is a dangerous unhealthy thing.
@@TylerHartman Really glad you shared this. Some of her songs are just so great to listen to. To each their own, but it's kind of a bummer that a lot of people see many yéyé singers as sex symbols and place their attractiveness over their music. :(
@TylerHartman Quirky songs and cute, innocent vibes would definitely be cherished by Japanese fans. Surprised not many of her songs were covered in Japanese.

I’m not home currently, so this is from memory. Grado Green Stylus, Technics Sl-35 Turntable(?), Adcom GFA Preamp (Can’t recall model number, came paired with the GFA-555 power amp), recorded in Audacity at 24 bit/96Khz on an Elitebook 8770w. The turntable is actually the weakest link in my system, by far! Furthermore, a dedicated soundcard would be really nice too. I play this album on my 1.7 Magnepans, the quality of the record is quite amazing. I plan to make a collection ALL her 60’s music on open reel tapes sourced from the original French 1st pressings. This would be shipped to select few people who can actually play these tapes. In reality it would be the definitive highest quality “master tapes” that the public could get their hands on.
@@TylerHartman Thanks Tyler ! A lot of France Gall's fans were waiting for these stereo's tapes... Take a look on my channel, i'm trying to " save " french music ( from the sixties and sixties ) and upload it with a nice sound. And there's a lot of work to be done !
@@chansonsfrancaises1503 I'm buying "Serge Gainsbourg - Intégrale Des Enregistrements Studio, Volume 1 : 1958-1970" if you wish, I can send you files of it in the future!

@@TylerHartman I agree, it's super creepy and borderline pedophilia since she started really young.
