    At 2:24 Bg5 is still a pretty good move even if it doesn't trap the queen. Stockfish says Re1 is only better move. After Qc5 there's Qf3 and black is pretty close to getting mated in 2 without precise play. You could argue from a human perspective that Nd6 cxd6 exd6 Qxd6 Bxg8 is much simpler to play just being up the exchange and with a much better position.

      Exactly what I noticed. d6 and black is completely fine. The real mistake was exd4. But even then, after white pawn pushes to e5, if u go Ne4 instead of Nh4 and you'll be fine too, because if Bd5 you go Nc5 and after Nxd4, Bh7 stops evey threat once again

      @@mikecantreed You must be kidding. Naroditsky can't smack Eric. Naka is just on some another level.
      Eric's score against Naroditsky is pretty good. His score against Fabi and Fedoseev is pretty amazing. Not to mention, Eric is not fast as he used to be and he clearly gets tilted these days. If Eric had given more time to his chess career, he would have been 2700+ rated and in top 50 for sure. I don't think Danya is better than Eric OTB.

    I don't think this one becomes a trap unless black takes on d4. Even then, whenever white thrusts with e5 the typical response Ne4 (eg. Alekhine's defence) doesn't seem so bad to me. The main mistake made by black in both games is lack of development with moves like Qe7.

    OK before I ask this question, go easy on me, I'm rated like 1200.
    Why not after Aman plays bxf7, respond with Qxf7, NxF7, KxF7? That way, you've thwarted white's attack, and you've traded your queen for two minor pieces. I understand that it's not good to trade a queen for two minor pieces, but it seems reasonable given how wide-open you are in this situation.

    • @NaiadKbir
      @NaiadKbir 4 года назад

      i mean you're just dead lost there. you are guaranteed to lose. the guy's only hope was that the attack was not too overwhelming and he could somehow survive without severe material loss, and he did only lose an exchange until the queen blunder. really both variations are just dead lost so no point thinking about it.

    Just FYI for everyone out there b5 that early is prope D4 is actually a mistake because of exd4 then after e5 black should play knight e4 not queen over as black did in this game. if white takes on d4 then the line goes like this. Black would take on d4 then white recaps with the queen and then bishop b7 for black and white has a slight edge as always as would be expected as white by default has a slight edge but a perfectly playable line for both white and black to which I would enjoy playing as black in the game.
