Super high quality stuff here fellas, I love it. This is similar to the type of stuff Ty would be showing me back in highschool, dude always would be going off about bands like Every Time I Die and this is like new school however many years later, such a trip.

I’d say a little less ETID riffage, a little more Turnstile.

Rise or die and enemy will probably always be their best. But something to be said about fys is I think they’ve always written the current most popular kind of punk music and add their own flavor to it, which makes it better than every other band in the genre. It’s our time was like old school senses fail + coheed and cambria. Rise or die was like set your goals with actual decent vocalists met lamb of god. Enemy is like the culmination of them perfecting that sound, though I still prefer most of the tracks on rod. In some way was their pop rock attempt at reaching beyond an “easycore” fanbase. The term easycore is honestly probably the worst thing to happen to fys and seriously stunted their growth because by comparison, every other easycore band there has ever been completely sucks. Like really bad. And somehow fys got lumped in with that bs genre. I feel like that album was just them having had enough of dealing with that. Ep and self titled were like capitalizing on the story so far style hype but of course with the flavor that only fys can bring, because they actually know how to play their instruments and write songs well. Brain pain was like an experimental take on that type of sound, and I think the new album now is capitalizing on the hype bands like turnstile have been getting, except fys is also light years better than turnstile

I guess in short, I don’t think this is their best work, but I think it’s phenomenal so far. And pretty much if you like punk music and you listen to FYS, it’s only downhill when you find other bands

NoMeansNo, fear, and coheed are all on par with fys for me but all drastically different styles of punk
