- Following a suggestion of my good friend Philip I recorded two different versions of this popular song.
The second version was sung by Vicky Leandros at the Eurovision Song Contest of 1967.

This is such a beautiful song. The only love-songs I can think of which are even in the same league are Schubert's "Liebesbotschaft", the Beatles' "Yesterday" and "I Will", Verdi's "Parmi veder le lagrime", and Mozart's "Dove sono".

thanks for the kind comment. I would have done the Jeff Beck version too but don`t know it and the video was blocked for our country so I could not watch it.

The first version , while based on the more familiar Paul Mauriat arrangement, is the one I know, but the BT crowded the playing, blocking your tone somewhat (balance is often tough, I know)...
Though unfamiliar with the 2nd version, the Burns rang out sweet and clear, and more of "you" came to the fore.
Love them both, but it's #2 by a hair for me !
