Glad they got rid of the Velcro arm / body attachments. The sound of Velcro peeling off while pulling on my jersey didn’t inspire much confidence in the V9 setup.
This is awesome. Can you guys do one of your info videos about tucking/untucking your C/A?
Any chance of a video comparing goalie pants lengths vs pant sizes? I feel like some companies pants run longer than others for the same pant size. Or how to fit goalie pants.
I love Vaughn. Recently had to get a bunch of new gear after a long hiatus and was pleasantly surprised how affordable Vaughn pro gear is compared to Bauer and Warrior. Still hand crafted in Canada.
I've loved using Vaughn's knee & Thigh pads for the past decade or so (V5, V7 & V9) since never liked other brands' Knee/Thigh but never tried a Vaughn C/A. Looks nice but I'm pretty sure I'll be buying a Brians Optik 3 next.
Hey Cam bought these and with the floaters up i cant turn my head enough to see anything behind the net. I wear a sportmask... i wonder if i went to a different helmet with a flared chin might help.. i suck so having the shoulders up high is how i like to wear it..
Attributes associated with Vaughn chesties: flexible, lightweight, bruises.
I upgraded from a 20ish year old Vaughn Vision protector to a V9 last year and I feel bulletproof, albeit in beer league 😂
Tbh feel different I think it’s a little bulky I think I will be staying with my hyperlite line for as long as they make it
Vaughn retail chesty is not good on protection
But it you beef up arm, sternum and shoulder, it’s coming a top notch product
Just pay the extra and you are fine on all hockey level
For sizing on prior to V9, they were smaller than new design as V9 and V10,
in general V9-V10 run one size smaller than before V9
@@user-hx7iu9xi1d Still using the arms from a Vision unit made almost 20 years ago. Lots of ex-pros around here, only the occasional stinger. The chest pad had to go after a couple seasons, but the arms are incredible.
Do you guys like this better than the SLR3 pro Carbon?
So what is the best chesty to be mobile, play untucked without shoulder floaters blocking the neck?
I tried a vaughn v10 chesty and i find the chesty are sized bigger.
Thanks for sharing!
I used to love Vaughn chesties. They got outdated pretty quick. Having laced in arm length adjustment is a massive No for me. I like being able to micro tune my arms without doing all that
Thing is the velcro never held long enough to allow the micro thing you're talking about. I have a V9 and am contemplating modding it to allow for lacing like my Gnetik.
@@PeteNice29that’s fair. I’ve personally never had an issue with the velcro. My Bauer one has allowed me to have my right arm shorter than my left and never came undone or messed up. But I can see your point of view
