Took me a few days to figure this out. Derrick is 💯 correct. Owned my 06 fast blue for a few months now. Catch that 5k range in the rpms. Then shift her through the rest. It’ll hang with the big boys. All while keeping the front wheel down.
Good video but the like a 600 power is a bit misleading. I have a 2008 ST and the thing goes when you're on it. It's just such a smooth bike you don't notice it. I did change my front sprocket to an 18 tooth which helped a ton with low end usability. Much snappier. Cheers
You nailed it.. I have this bike in black, why? Because not everyone has a Triumph and it turns heads. I added red accents on the fairing vent and red clutch and brake levers. Great review by the way and very accurate, yes you can get yourself in trouble with this bike but it is also possibly my favorite bike I've ever ridden. Nice to see videos from someone so close. It is kind of crazy knowing where you are riding because I have been on those roads.
This bike is no slouch just need to know when to hit the throttle, and how to ride it...and where the power bands are...it's actually more on the sport than the tourer...but honestly no clue about the bike and no gloves...Jeepers
Super glad you guys have a review of this bike I love your guys' channel and Bikes and Beards. Happened to see one for sale near me and was like what in the what is this thing. Thanks for the info!
I watch bikes n beards all the time and just bought one of these in June. In Phoenix…… it’s amazing. No it’s not like my gsxr speed wise but literally everything else is better for commuting to work, riding for fun, and I can go on long trips now with bags and storage and double the mpg, gas gauge, just tons more amenities and quirks and yes it’s a bit like a saab, you buy one cuz they’re unique lol
Speeding when you don't even know that you're speeding is a good thing. However I don't think it's a strong point when you're trying to convince the Sheriff that you shouldn't get a ticket.
Be carfull triumph pre 2008 used plastic petrol tanks so if your American your ethonal in your gas will expand the tank and your have a load of problems soon. Check to see if u have plastic or steel tank.
I have been looking at kawasaki ninja and Triumph . Because I had a harley davidson sportster custom 883 2009 I was not happy with the weight. It was to top heavy.
is this guy for real, Spirit or Sprint can he effin read? a Honda also bloody hell whats he on. New plugs at 8 k, not even at service level so in between.
When you say "beginners" What do you mean? I already took the motorcycle safety course and obtained my class M in Pa not shore if I would be categorized as a Beginner?
Well, yes. But, when I sold bikes, I saw people who just took a class ride out on Street Glides and do just fine. Take it easy for the first 50 miles until you get a feel for the bike. I still do that on bikes I've never ridden.
In 08-09 I test drove a Speed triple 1050 same motor as the Sprint st. I was considering trading in my 07 CBR 600rr for an upgrade. After all the RAVE REVIEWS I felt as if it was gutless compared to my 600! I went back to the dealer and they gave me a 2nd one thinking maybe it was just the bike?? (What's that tell u in their confidence in reliability from the Triumph dealer) anyway 2nd bike even more of a disappointment as I took it out on the highway. Not for me. Not that exhilarating power surge of a supersport and NOTHING close to my 02 gsxr1000. I ended up picking up a used 04 zx 1000 3rd owner and I loved that bike after swapping out the front end from a zx6r. Those triples just don't do it, Idc what they say. Hail to the early 00 Jap in -line 4's!!!! Id even take my 00 Bandit 1200 over that 1050 triple! And that was an air/oil cooled carbureted motor.
I rode my dad's. It was like you get the negatives of both sportbikes and tourers: the uncomfortable sporty riding position and the big heavy weight of a tourer which limits its ability to make you laugh while threading it through the twisties. Lovely refined motor though.
Killer bike, Ive owned 2 and have a 2008 ST right now. Way more nimble and much under appreciated in the range.
Proud owner of an '08 ST as well. It's a keeper.
Interested in buying one how is it for long trips?
Doing a test ride video like this is SO effing smart!! People can get a real world idea of what you are selling. Everyone should do this.
Buys and sells bikes for a living yet has never heard of a Triumph Sprint ST. "massive eye roll"
The power band on the 1050 hits hard at 5,000 + rpms. I had a Tiger 1050. Exact same motor. Awesome sport touring bikes!

They sound good and the one that comes with the hard luggage is a nice looking machine.

What are you doing riding without gloves? It IS a liter bike, plus a little....
Doesn't need gloves, his hands are not on the bars a lot of the time.

Well, comparing a liter sport tourer to 600cc super sports - exactly the kind of information a bloke without gloves on a 120hp bike could provide

you owe us a 0-60 with a triumph sprint Sean!!!

Its a superb sport tourer, great bike
was thinking about the GT... but it looks like a HGV of bikes... want to keep some flickability... this looks good.

The real power kick's in at six thousand and up

A beginner is someone with less than 10,000 miles at the very least.
you would do good to do some research before making a video. and I find it hard to believe you bought it not knowing what it was 🤔

This bike vs the Honda VFR800 Vtec?
VFR everyday

Best not look at the writing on the side while your going along
Hey Sean! Hands down if you had to choose, would you take this bike or the Honda VFR 1200F?
+Daniel Greene vfr for sure
Advertises gloves in the comments...doesn't wear gloves.
No gloves?
st stands for sport triple
No. It’s the sport touring version.
Why are you riding without gloves? Squid
it looks like a handa cbr
