Super helpful video mate, just inspecting a knocking/crunching from the rear wheel, Think my hub bearings might be shot. This will certainly make the disasembly easier. Thank you 👍
Side note: (the centre caps) drive side is a bung with o rings, straight pull may require some leverage to get it started. Wheel side is on a screw thread, i use a strap wrench to start it off, then knock in to release the core from the axle, continue to unscrew by hand, reach around through the axle from the drive side for extra friction if required 😉
question do i have to take off or loosin the left side nut b4 taking off the right side if I'm just taking the wheel off to install a new tyre? I'm on a 955i thanks great vid btw
Great video. Made it look easy. though i will make it harder for myself, as i would change, chain sprocket, brake pads, maybe chain and front sprocket and rear tyre..while its apart...lol
lol I like how you simply pulled the axle out with one hand. The reality on some bikes that haven't been looked after is it needs a really really big hammer to do that.
I would like to know the answer to this also. I’m guessing once everything is clean and dry that if you can slide it back in fairly easily and turn it with the tool with no grease on then no grease is needed? Like with regular chain blocks. But what about water over time?
Great help - thanks for posting this step-by-step vid. I'm doing the same job on a '98 955 Daytona/S3, but I will be replacing all the bearings. What are you using for cleaning? (by the way, your method of keeping the spacers, washers, nuts and all in order with twine is brilliant. I'm nearly 70 - been doing this for a long time, but that's a new one and a really good idea). Thanks again!

Superb video. Thank you.
Hope to do the same job with my 1050GT some day.
Chain tensioner seized, hope after tmo, (bike in bits at the moment,) remove hub, clean and lube, fingers crossed, cheers mate.
Hope everything goes ok.
Have the same issue man. About to pull it apart and hope I can unseize it. Any tips on way to avoid it being seized?
Fantastic video. Makes it look easy. Well done
Cheers tbh if you know how to use tools and are competent it’s a breeze!
@@floatybisquit any other options 😂😂😂
Get some other bugger to do it! 😆
Brilliant video, thanks for making it
Brilliant you made that look so easy thank you 👍
Cheers joe if you’ve got the right tools it’s a breeze.

Great video, thanks. Anything else in the pipeline? Steering head strip and rebuild would be good 😂😂
Yea I’ve done that too. Leave it with me 😄
Awesome! Thank you! 1 question, how long did this process take?
I could do with now in about an hour! Now I know what to do! All depends on if you need new bearings and stuff!
Oh and the cleaning bit takes a while of course! My dishwasher doesn’t have a quick wash!

I guess I was lucky 😂
When putting it back together, do you grease inside the hub carrier ? Is this how the chain adjusts? Brilliant video by the way 👍🏻

I got my sprint up to 171.9 a few days ago how fast is yours?
Mph???
@@floatybisquit yes 2005 with 26,000 miles all stock 179.2 indicated, but i had it pinned for like 45 seconds
Should get more than that. Are you fat?
@@adrianaugustus2815 im 180 pounds, and no you should not get anymore speed out of the sprint that was fo sho topped out
@@skylinesquidthat’s wild. My 04 RS only goes 167 mph
Any suggestions to which grease to use?
A good general grease for packing and copper grease for the adjuster plate.
What to do if my eccentric don't move?
Strip it down!
@@floatybisquit striped down week ago , everything done now , quite easy job 😉

Thanks mate
Just poor info... not helpfulll..
Ok mate if your not good at mechanics just say so.

Thankyou for your compliments, I was using Muc-off which is basically like a diesel cleaner!
And then any old dishwasher tablet in the dishwasher 😂
