This is the type of lessons i CRAVE!!! THANK YOU🎉
Am french & greek (yay!) and in french, we double the first syllable when we emphasise how cute something is, eg, bébête (an animal), toutou (dog), fifille (a girl). Great things come in 2 (not 3! 😊). In Bahasa Indonesia, the plural is created by doubling nouns. Learning languages is fun ! Love the examples as you explain the words. Μπράβο παιδιά.
I love the idea that the plural of nouns is the same word but double!
"Πλάκα πλάκα" is actually very similar to the English phrase "Funny you mention it..." or "Funny that you say that..." which use this idea of 'funny' to the same effect.
Yes, hadn't thought of that! Πλάκα πλάκα is used slightly differently, for example, one can use πλάκα πλάκα at oneself, but yeah they're similar.
@@EasyGreekVideos Sounds like the correct equivalent is "funnily enough, ....." --- you use funnily enough to indicate that, although something is surprising, it is true or really happened. You also wouldn't use it after a friend tells you "oh my cat just died" ^.^
@@ladty6889 Hmmm... Would "it's cold" - "Funnily enough, I forgot my jacket" work? Maybe, right?
@@EasyGreekVideos weeeeell, I guess I wouldn't say it out of the blue like that (maybe yes but I guess more in some broader lighthearted context), but I wouldn't find it weird if I herd it, so, .. maybe/kinda
Growing up, we kids thought it was hilarious when my Greek-American mom would say things like "we have to get up early-early," or that the sky was "blue-blue." She wasn't even that fluent in Greek. But I guess some of the Greek syntax transferred straight into her English. We didn't tease her too much, though, because she did make a delicious tourlou-tourlou. :)
Ααα, νωρίς νωρίς is another good one!
I find that a lot of languages (including Thai - my mother tongue) have this feature. Also, hopefully I can see a Q&A with the second team as well. All awesome people need origin stories
Which team are you referring to as second?
The team with Chrysalena and co.
@@subarashiistudios5203 Unfortunately we don't work with them anymore. We've gone through lots of "second teams." 🥲
"STALIA STALIA"... 🎶🎤🎧
Καλό! Σταλιά σταλιά = bit by bit, drop by drop
I love the Greek language.
It’s cute 😍
Dimitri has been hitting the gym , I see those biceps
Enjoying your videos a lot, thank you !
A suggestion for a new one : something with the expressions for time, from "never" to "always", including "sometimes", "from time to time", "once in a lifetime", "frequently", "every day", etc.
Adverbs of frequency! Yes I've been thinking of doing that one for a long time. Thanks!
Thank You Again Dimitri And Marilou…Another Great Episode As Usual👍👍👍👍👍👍🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷🇬🇷
Biri biri seems to be like yada-yada! (from TV Seinfeld)
Hmm... is yada-yada different from blah-blah in any way?
@@EasyGreekVideos Το ίδιο!
Πάντα μέγας ο Δημήτρης ! Χαιρετισμοί.
In Swahili if you repeat a word twice u create a new word example Pole means Sorry but pole pole means slowly .Pili means second Pili pili means Chilli 😂 kidogo means small kidogo kidogo means very slowly
“Σιγά σιγά” reminds me a lot of the midwestern “well, I suppose” that’s used when thinking about or beginning to exit a social gathering of any kind
Πολύ καλό επεισόδιο! Μπράβο σας!
Ευχαριστούμε πολύ
Ευχαριστώ!

"Θά φτιάξω μια ομελέτα στο μάνι μάνι και θα φάμε" Γρήγορα - Γρήγορα
Sta servika episis exoume tin idia periptosi me ta "double words" :)
Με ποιον τρόπο;
Νομίζω ότι το «μάνι μάνι» προέρχεται από τη Σουηδία: εκεί πέρα, μπορεί κάνεις να ακούσει συχνά την έκφραση «μάνι μάνι μάνι, it’s a richmen’s world».
Χαχα κι εγώ το σκέφτομαι αυτό συχνά
🤣🤣
Πολύ πολύ ενδιαφέρουσα λίστα εκφράσεων με επανάληψη, μπράβο παιδιά! 💥😎🙌
Σ' ευχαριστούμε Αστέρη!

Ναιιι κρίμα που το ξεχάσαμε αυτό!
Could you turn on the automatic translator for the videos?
What do you mean? On top of the existing subtitles?
@@EasyGreekVideos In the details of the uploaded video in the "Language and Subtitles Certification" section, select the Greek language. This allows for automatic subtitle translation, so if you don't know English, you can follow along from Greek to Spanish or Greek to Italian, and many other languages
I'm a new sub.. the episode I saw was with three subs. Why no more with 3 subs? As new learner in Greek, it's more helpful with 3 subs.
Those are for the real beginners, the Super Easy Greek episodes (and really only some of them). If you're watching this one I'm assuming you're comfortable at least reading Greek.
Isa means father, siga means a pig in Estonian 😀
And isa isa, siga siga?
@@EasyGreekVideos Isa siga 😄 Father - pig 😂 . No, just isa and siga.
What is different between “Diladi” and “Loipon”☺️?
Δηλαδή = "In other words", Λοιπόν = "So, well"
But "λοιπόν" can also mean "in other words" if placed at the end of senses.
@@EasyGreekVideos thankkk

I went to a yoga class in Athens where the teacher always said that
It’s like ένα ένα!
Στην βόρεια Ελλάδα χρησιμοποιούμε το "μάνι μάνι" ως "γρήγορα γρήγορα" δεν το έχω ακούσει ποτέ ως "ήδη"... ενδιαφέρον!
καρέ καρέ τι σημαίνει;
Literally frame by frame. Used in greek tv news. Means showing in every detail how the story unfolds.
@@athanasiostryfonidis4263 Thank you!

Το κουτσά-κούτσα ήταν στο σενάριο αρχικά αλλά κόπηκε στο μοντάζ! Καλό.
Στα Αγγλικά λεμε let's go out or let's go out out που σημαίνει να παμε έξω για μια μεγάλη νύχτα που μάλλον θα ειμαστε εξω μέχρι το προι

Έτσι κι έτσι! 😁
Guys, when you explain something, please try to explain it FIRST slowly in simple Greek, and ONLY AFTER THAT go on with casual chat
We do that on our Super Easy videos (we've been publishing lots of "slow Greek" videos recently also).
On regular Easy Greek we just speak normally. You can lower the speed on RUclips if that's too fast.
@@EasyGreekVideosYou are great everyone 😍 ….. but sloweeeeeer 😂
