I hope it works for you! Our cuttings didn't make it. In part due to the severe cold drop we had last winter. I didn't protect them and the cuttings died like the foliage on many other magnolias in the area. These tend to be difficult to root so keep trying and try different times of the year to see what works best.
thanks for the video. im getting ready to take cuttings from a magnolia. when i was younger i would take clones of some plants, and about the only thing i might try in addition to the steps shown in the video is to use a humidity dome for the first week or two, and maybe a heating pad underneath the rooting tray. the nursery here wants $150 for a 5ft baby magnolia, so was curious if i could take cuttings from my tree to save some dinero
@@Growingthehomegarden cool man! I’ve got a couple different magnolia cuttings going also… they’re in a vase with some golden pathos cuttings which they say have a natural rooting hormone in them…. We’ll see

This is precisely what I needed. I gathered mini magnolia cuttings yesterday evening. Thank you for sharing your technique.😊

Just wondering if it worked?🤞
So far no roots have formed but the cuttings are not dead so there could still be a chance. The experiment is still ongoing.
@@Growingthehomegarden Goid luck!! Yes, I agree if the stems are still alive, there still hope! 🤞
Any results
Nothing yet. It's still early for roots to form. I checked them a few days ago and they were still green and alive but no roots yet.

normally I just dig up some suckers from an old tree. of course I live way in the south and everybody has ancient magnolias in their yards....
That's a really good way to get you magnolias. Leave it up to mother nature to produce!
Anything yet?
Not yet but it's still early.
