I always wanted a Derbyan but after seeing this stunning Malabar, wow. It takes a little of the sting out of losing our beloved Noble Macaw, Groucho, last Friday. We have had parrots for 38 years & have lost 10 out of 12, as many were older & had medical issues when we got them. We believe they know & appreciate the care we give them. It never gets easier but we are grateful to have these amazing birds in our lives. Unfortunately, we are past getting more as age is getting to us now. Love your birds as I know you do. Yep! He used to talk more than he does currently however he has his own cute little sayings, much like the others. "I'm chillin like a villain" "HI I'm Bob, I'm a teddy bear!" and several other things. He's super quiet, the sweetest lil guy and keeps to himself a lot though.
Did you know that those birds can see colours we don't? So actually they are even more colourful than we believe

Our males definitely talk more than our females that talk. The girls tend not to speak all day like the guys.

I thought Frank was a red-breasted parakeet
If I remember correctly, Malabar parakeets are also related to the red-breasted/moustache parakeets.
Like cousins. They are both Asiatic parrots though.
