I'd place Ryuji in the same vein as Kuze. A character you start off despising, but later through the game as you learn more about him and see his own code and even having some lines that he doesn't cross.
This is one of the best final boss experiences I've had in a game. I had managed to get myself to full health before fighting Ryuji, and didn't use any more healing items during the fight. Me and Ryuji both got some heat actions / QTE's on each other, and I activated extreme heat at the same time as Ryuji powered up, and we were both just beating the shit out of eachother, until the final QTE where we were both at critical health. Never felt a more satisfying final blow. Probably of of the most hype things I've done at 2AM.
True, I felt like slugging it out with superarmor would be the way the fight would go canonically, triggered the final qte when I had an empty health and heat bar
Did anyone notice, both of these dragons has the name 'Ryu' in their names. Ki"Ryu" , "Ryu"ji .. "Ryu" in japanese means dragon itself.. , the names were given wisely by Sega ...
You are so knowledgeable, Salil-sensei, please teach me the ways of Japanese enlightenment so that I may also flaunt my excessive knowledge of the Japanese language in a way that certainly doesn't come off as pretentious in the slightest.

This song is just Beautiful, regardless the version...the final battle with Ryuji and Kiryu.... Just... Wow, if I ever get Kiwami two, I won't break it. It will be an proper battle so I can listen to this beautiful piece
Ryuji, what an absolute unit. I thought of ever outcome if they both got out alive and teamed up some how, they both dropped the yakuza life, ran the orphanage together, etc. Imagine, you roll up on one dragon, and the golden dragon comes out to. Fuck me what a duo they would have been, but as a recent yakuza fan, lover of the series, I'm a-okay with seeing Ryuji go down like this. Such honor & respect for the two dragons. The soundtrack is absolutely beautiful. You know what needs to be done, and there is no escape for it. It's actually put some of my younger siblings to sleep while listing to it. (in a good way of course) And I love, even a Dragon has a soft spot for his family and close ones. I love yakuza. It is one of the best games, ever created.
I love how both want to settle things even hurt and dying this is some amazing respect they got for eachother i know that i respect ryuji since i first fought him i knew he was gonna be a good opponent to fight
Justfinished kiwami 2 for the first time today. After having just watched kiryu say goodbye to kaoru, and ryuji being so nice to his sister while he lets her go despite having only known about her for a few minutes, i felt sad. Enough to tear up, but I was alright. I was preparing myself for the epic battle theme that would surely go alongside the final fight between the two dragons. Instead what I got was a somber piano that perfectly fits the tone of the fight. At this moment, neither of them believed that they’d get out alive. They were fighting purely to settle their score now, and with an immense amount of respect for each other. As a result, when the song first started during the dynamic intro at 5:16, i felt a giant wave of emotion hit me. That piano made me experience all sadness of the previous scenes all at once, and a tear rolled down my cheek while I continued to fight. Genuinely one of, if not my absolute favorite moment in any video game.
Guys there is something you must understand about 'A scattered moment' the ost of this fight. Anyone who think the original was better, i can understand why, but it's not what they wanted to do( an upgrade) with this remake. They didn t want to upgrade song, they want to change the feeling behind (you how it's end but you have to do it) because in the remake, you know how exactly the fight will end, like kiryu said, 'this how it's has to be''. The original fits better in the orginal game because you thought our dragon kiryu was doomed, resigned and ready to die but for that, he needed to do ONE LAST THING, the settle is rivalary with Ryuji and this is why the instrument in this ost were minimalist. This is my opinion you are free to disagree I m sorry for my english is bad, i m french.
Thing about these first 3 Yakuza final bosses (Shibusawa, Nishikiyama and now Ryuji) is that each of them can be your pick for best final boss fight and the fandom will respect you whatever your choice is because they, too, agree that they're all fucking phenomenal in a way.
-Shibusawa, a complete dragon vs Kiryu, an incomplete dragon -Nishikiyama, a Koi trying to become a dragon vs Kiryu, a complete dragon -Ryuji, a gold dragon vs Kiryu, a silver dragon
This fight was a good, clean, fair fight. They only had to use their fists. No weapons, no nothing. That was when Ryuji finally opened his eyes about Kaoru, being his long lost younger sister. And she was in love with his rival, Kazuma Kiryu. And that was the fight to determine who would be the most toughest yakuza in Japan. The title of Dragon of Japan.
I love that elbow block followed by the dodge by Kiryu in the QTE, showing that meeting Ryuji's fist with an elbow block, which is a great counter to an uppercut, Kiryu would rather dodge the next punch than meet Ryuji's next punch. I like this detail because the way that Kiryu beats someone is rarely because he had better form, but that's the case for this fight
"If I had a nickel for every time i've had to fight a power-hungry yakuza official gunning for total control who just so happens to also have a dragon on his back and says there can only be one dragon, i'd have two nickels. Which isn't alot but it's weird that its happened twice."

Final bosses: Yakuza 0 - Epic. I'm gonna end your war and fight for justice. Yakuza Kiwami - Heartbreaking, I don't want to do this. Yakuza Kiwami 2 - This is how it is to be...
5:16 Me: *expecting some brutal crescendo of epic music* Game: *hits me with this gem* I absolutely love it... I don’t know why it fits so well. Just two men ready to die for pride... we don’t need super epic music distracting us from this hell of a fight. Yakuza Kiwami 2 might be my favorite Yakuza up to date... it deals with pride, and Ryuji said it himself; “a real man oughta be a little stupid.”
I’ll admit, I almost never watched the cutscenes in yakuza games. But this one, the one against Ryuji, was the single one I actually watched. Ryuji is one of my favorite characters in all of yakuza.
It's a cool effect too, the slow motion of Kiryu and Ryuji swinging at each other before the percussion comes in. Not what I like to do in this fight but I totally get was he was going for.
What I think think though you should do is just fight normally but then after the first little Cutscene of the punching and shit you should do that Blue oura or whatever thing and just bash him. I saw someone's Playthrough. His name's JetMonkeyHDGaming and goddamn I loved it. He didn't block AT all. He played on Normal but it looked like he played on Legend by how much health he lost! He finished the fight with 1 HP left. You should watch that. Episode 38 btw I believe. You can see what's Majima Saga and what's ending.
Sayama being stuck right where she is, two of the men she loves the most in the world are about to fight each other to the death and she is powerless to stop it. The pain in that must be immense.
The general consensus is that the last fight with Ryuji Goda is a good one. I can see why. Here we have a muscle-bound Yakuza member who, like Kiryu, also has standards. Despite many hardships that he faced, he wanted to be number one fair and square. As an underdog myself, I respect that. The music also adds to the awesomeness and would more likely fit a hero than a villain thanks to the violin and the piano. I think that I said too much, but that's what happens when a boss fight gets emotional for so many reasons.
I respected the living shit out of Ryuji Goda. He wasn't some power-hungry master villain, all he cared about was fighting Kiryu fair and square over the Dragon title.
I really enjoy how much more honorable Ryuji became towards the end. Kiryu was even willing to fight to the death since he deemed Ryuji as someone who was deserving of going all out against. I miss this guy. Ryuji and Kiryu in the same game as protagonists would make one hell of a game… (no not dead souls)
Best Yakuza boss. Just two men beating eachother off during a countdown in a tense and steamy fight with fantasy music in the background. What else appeals to the male fantasy than this?
For me literally finishing this last night as of writing this, this fight resonates with me in so many different tones. Kiryu is THE dragon, there is no second, there is no match. No matter how hard ryugi swung kiryu never even broke his demeanor. Kiryu is absolutely the dragon above all, everything rode on this fight for him, his home, his honor, the Tojo, everything. That’s why Kiryu won, because this fight was more than a title.
Considering that Ryuji's fist doesn't break on Kiryu's Elbow, and that there's an Essence of Crushing: Wall, if Kiryu tried to pull that off on Ryuji, the wall will crack instead, referencing Hiroki Awano's wall punch in Y0.
I don't know how can you fit every single part of this epic fight with epic song perfectly like that. Final QTE fit perfectly with the best part of the song. I can just say, not many Yakuza's player can do the same thing like you. So, in many Boss fight video, I only love your video, not others. Your gameplay make this epic fight become legendary. Great work, bro !!! This video makes me cry alot, because I know when the song ends, we lost one true Dragon....... RIP Ryuji, one of the best and most respectful antagonist of Yakuza series.....
Seeing Goda and Kiryu turn back to each other after everything to prove who the real dragon is has to be one of the most alpha things in the history of gaming.
Consider this ridiculous feat of Ryuji's. He literally woke up from a viscious beating after a short power-nap literally shooting and ready for round 2 with Kiryu. That's comparable to Kiryu fighting two adult tigers AFTER he got stabbed.
Don’t forget, while Kiryu was fighting through the smaller clan Ryuji was fighting the Tojo on the home turf. This is the only time in the series where Kiryu had an easier pre-fight than the final boss.

He is the same as awano in yakuza 0.
@@Vladicarus IMO Munakata from Yakuza 4 is the worst

I'd place Ryuji in the same vein as Kuze. A character you start off despising, but later through the game as you learn more about him and see his own code and even having some lines that he doesn't cross.
@@Vladicarus the villain in judgement is goddamn amazing
0:50 i love how ryuji go mad nuts for her half-sister and shot many times this guy .Just awesome
Now It's hard to think which save between Nishiki or Ryuji is better.
I really love the objective description to the fight. It really adds a layer of sadness to it, in my eyes.
"This is how it has to be."
i love how Ryuji just wakes up and turns the other guy into spongebob
That's what a boss fight should be like. It's kinda sad seeing no damage boss fights (even if it is impressive).
Did anyone notice, both of these dragons has the name 'Ryu' in their names. Ki"Ryu" , "Ryu"ji ..
"Ryu" in japanese means dragon itself..
, the names were given wisely by Sega ...

(in a good way of course)
And I love, even a Dragon has a soft spot for his family and close ones.
I love yakuza. It is one of the best games, ever created.
If you want a “what if Ryuji survived” scenario, there’s always Yakuza: Dead Souls.
And I quote from a certain Yakuza 4 playthrough.
"What's more important than stopping the bomb from going off? Settling THIS"
5:15 always gives me goosebumps
they both resemble two dragons !!
I love how both want to settle things even hurt and dying this is some amazing respect they got for eachother i know that i respect ryuji since i first fought him i knew he was gonna be a good opponent to fight
1:39 "I'm the real final boss here, shut up and sit down!"

The maliest series. Period.
Manly as fuck.
Manly tears has been shed...

That last conversation with his sister...I lost it. 😭
This is my opinion you are free to disagree
I m sorry for my english is bad, i m french.
They sure did A Scattered Moment justice...
Thing about these first 3 Yakuza final bosses (Shibusawa, Nishikiyama and now Ryuji) is that each of them can be your pick for best final boss fight and the fandom will respect you whatever your choice is because they, too, agree that they're all fucking phenomenal in a way.
-Shibusawa, a complete dragon vs Kiryu, an incomplete dragon
-Nishikiyama, a Koi trying to become a dragon vs Kiryu, a complete dragon
-Ryuji, a gold dragon vs Kiryu, a silver dragon
Ain't room for... more than one dragon
The title of Dragon of Japan.
haha, not for me I used the fuck out of those weapons lol
i ripped out every one of Ryuji's teeth with rusty pliers and counted them afterwards
5:39 absolutely amazing
5:03 when bro says "you sister is kinda nice"
Picking this game up today, like always I'll be playing the hell out of this.
The fucker's last breath was appreciation for his sister's smile, literal chad
"If I had a nickel for every time i've had to fight a power-hungry yakuza official gunning for total control who just so happens to also have a dragon on his back and says there can only be one dragon, i'd have two nickels. Which isn't alot but it's weird that its happened twice."
I will have this game in a few Hours myself. 10 to be exact! I cant wait. Loved the original Yakuza 2 on the ps2, and this looks just as amazing. This is by far my Fav Bossfight of any game really. Cant wait to play this Game. Thanks for uploading this!

Yeah but we lost count to it how many times he keep shooting that elderly dude way too close to each other

I absolutely love it...
First 40 seconds of the fight are exactly the same with your japanese version, looks like you have your own vision of how this fight should go
It's a cool effect too, the slow motion of Kiryu and Ryuji swinging at each other before the percussion comes in.
Ryuji was no man...
He was a man's man...
Japanese never failed to amaze me with their skill on storytelling.... 😭
Rest in peace Ryuji-san... You'll always be in our heart...
One of the best fights in the Yakuza series imo
Ryuji Goda (A Scattered, Eternal Moment).
Ryuji: there's no room for 2 dragons
Also ryuji: at least check if my sister's boyfriend can fight 😂
Ryuji Goda turned into one of my favorite characters at the end... Damn I wish he didn’t die
Considering that Ryuji's fist doesn't break on Kiryu's Elbow, and that there's an Essence of Crushing: Wall, if Kiryu tried to pull that off on Ryuji, the wall will crack instead, referencing Hiroki Awano's wall punch in Y0.
4:19 Goosebumps every time
That shot is doped
I don't know how can you fit every single part of this epic fight with epic song perfectly like that. Final QTE fit perfectly with the best part of the song. I can just say, not many Yakuza's player can do the same thing like you. So, in many Boss fight video, I only love your video, not others. Your gameplay make this epic fight become legendary. Great work, bro !!! This video makes me cry alot, because I know when the song ends, we lost one true Dragon....... RIP Ryuji, one of the best and most respectful antagonist of Yakuza series.....

Whoever says Ryūji isn’t badass has clearly never seen this
The OST that plays when Ryuji sends the elevator down hits almost as hard as his boss fight theme.
That man never should have been able to shoot Ryugi as many time as he did when he had an entire magazine pumped into him
I just love Ryuji Goda. He's a great counterpart to Kiryu.
I love that get-up sync at 7:09
Seeing Goda and Kiryu turn back to each other after everything to prove who the real dragon is has to be one of the most alpha things in the history of gaming.
7:40 that music transition 🔥
6:56 I LOVE THAT MUSIC SYNCH
Consider this ridiculous feat of Ryuji's. He literally woke up from a viscious beating after a short power-nap literally shooting and ready for round 2 with Kiryu.
That's comparable to Kiryu fighting two adult tigers AFTER he got stabbed.
Don’t forget, while Kiryu was fighting through the smaller clan Ryuji was fighting the Tojo on the home turf. This is the only time in the series where Kiryu had an easier pre-fight than the final boss.
