Candice epidural was the best thing for me girl. Once those contractions start kicking my butt I was like please give me that needle 😂. Dr Heavenly told u the truth, when you first hold that baby it's the best feeling ever. Don't pressure yourself because we make plans and God makes decisions.,sometimes you may have to get an emergency C section, so just pray for a healthy, safe delivery. 🙏🏽

😝not the power walk? Replace that w 3 to 4 dance songs then a sex quickie..babeeee it worked for us...water broke, 20min to hospital and guess what 5hrs later my girl rolled right on out. But that was 2nd ..1st was 17hrs labor & 7th hour epidural....shit to relaxed to push🥱😏🫢

They do leave the catheter in for Epidural. That’s how they push the medicine. It’s like a IV, but in your spine. Lol
I believe it depends on the hospital and or doctor. Out of 5 births I only had a catheter once. Thank God because I hated having that thing just lingering there. My last child epidural; no catheter. Looking back I wish I never got the epidural. Id advise to know your options and research heavily on them even before kids.
@@HobbsHeartHome I’m a nurse, but don’t work in Labor and Delivery. They could have taken the tube out because you were so close to having the baby. But depending on how long you are in Labor, they will need to leave it in, because medication only last so long. If they don’t leave the tube in, they’ll have to keep injecting you with the needle to stop the pain. Which can cause an infection, risk of messing up, and more pain. Some Doctors won’t even put the epidural in if you are too far long.
@@HobbsHeartHomeI’m an anesthesiologist who places epidurals. All epidurals have a catheter left to deliver medication. If they don’t leave the catheter, either you didn’t get an epidural (but something else) or you were so close that the moment they put it in, they had to take it out. It could also be that the catheter was so comfortable that you didn’t feel it.
Being too far along that the epidural (which has a catheter) would not have been the most appropriate choice of anesthesia (which has several forms including "single" shot spinals; which provides even more "reliable" and "extensive" anesthesia but without the ability to "extend" for unforeseen circumstances) requiring it's removal is more precise. Speaking from an "infection" standpoint, with every entry of a needle there is a slight risk of infection but very much less "if" it's a "sterilized" one and the appropriate techniques were met when performing, opposed to a "indwelling" catheter which has an even more increased risk.
Right. They left mine in bc I got my tubes tied with my last one. That was the first time I had the epidural.

I had an epidural with my first son, but I had a natural birth with the second one because for the same reason of Heavenly, I got to the hospital too late. They couldn't give me a damn Tylenol😂
