Many people hate the ending, because protag didn't end up with Kayo. But I think it's great the way it is. It was never about "getting the girl", he was just trying to save people. And it would've been pretty creepy, since he's mentally 18 years older than her.

It was a bittersweet ending about him not getting the girl. It was a mature ending . I dont think he was older than her mentally . I didn't see it that way. It's that student that was always hanging around him that was weird to me
Satoru was never going after Kayo romantically, and its sad that Erased gets flack for them not ending up together.
It's a fantastic series, but shipper gotta ship.
Airi was always endgame though.
Basically Satoru needs closure by try to solving the big mystery and preventing murders

I guessed it was the teacher as soon as he was introduced, I can't believe it actually was him. What a twist!

I thought it was the detective working the case at first but then as soon as Kayo was confirmed to be missing the first time. I knew it was someone she would trust and someone close with children.
Once i saw the candy, it was game cuz i found it suspicious and thought oh he uses the candy to lure his victims and they're probably laced with something but then he ate one. Then and there i knew he was the killer. The killer is smart and doesn't like to leave behind evidence. Him using regular candy to lure kids and kill them makes alot more sense since he can just easily explain why he has so much if anyone finds em

ERASED is one of the best time travel anime I have ever seen. Its first episode is one of the strongest first episodes in the anime world, in my opinion. The production was great, and the story was strong, although many of the events in it were expected. The killer in the story was completely clear who he was, and I am sure that 99% of the people who watched the anime knew who he was from the first few episodes. Also, the end of the anime was kind of quick. It wasn't bad, but it could have been better.
Final Conclusion: ERASED is a very amazing anime, and I rate it 8.5/10.

I was spoiled who the killer was by a meme when the reveal happened before I got to watch Erased.
I think they sacrificed the end to flush out the main part of the story. The third act in the manga was actually kind of long
The manga and the live action series on Netflix is better, specifically the ending

While watching this video I started suspecting the teacher. Only because of the unreported abuse and lack of care. Though, I was waiting for a twist of him having time travel powers too.
It would be have been an excellent twist if he turned out to be "his biological father" who his mother once had a drunken one nighter with and the dude also had time powers.
I loved this series, I wasn't expecting it to be that good. I just watched and boomed, stayed up till 4am just to finish it. I cried at the end 😭.
I didn't like his relationship with the student girl though. Felt inappropriate
A lot of people drag Kayo for not waiting but he wouldn't have wanted that for her. He wanted her to live her life happily, they were in a platonic relationship. They were never love interests
Kayo shouldn't have "waited" with any expectation of Satoru waking up. However from a narrative perspective there was no need for the author to have married her off in the meantime.
As for "never love interests"... Did you somehow not see the christmas tree scene where they comment on the foxes being a couple? You want to tell me with a straight face that wasn't a blatantly obvious romantic setup?
Now Airi on the other hand - *that* was a platonic relationship. She went to extreme measures to help him out, but there was no indication of romantic intention from either of them, with the sole exception of Satoru's mother thinking Airi liked him. There was no chemistry. Yet the ending scene were Satoru encountered Airi again definitely seemed to suggest the author was putting her up as a consolation prize.
@@Anonymous551656 Satoru had a crush on her, but Kayo didn't really reciprocate. The fox scene is about how Satoru feels, they aren't love interests if only one is interested. You can *TELL* that those two weren't going to end up together.
I watched this show mere days before it was removed from Netflix. I'm kicking myself that I didn't watch it sooner cause I would love to watch it again. Tho watching a second time wouldn't be as great as the first time. It's such a mystery trying to figure out who the killer was and the suspense of learning how it unfolds with the main cast. Such an amazing anime.

As soon as I saw the teacher’s eyes when they introduced him, I immediately knew. Never seen the anime or anything. It was just the shape and way they drew his expressive eyes. An amazing story and well animated to make the character still semi-recognizable while in disguise if you look for the small details.
It literally always bothered me that the teacher used a basket ball on the gas to make the car go. Wouldn’t it just roll off?

I'v heard quite a few news about the accident caused by shoe getting strucked at the accelator or jamming the brake. So I guess any objects with enough friction could do it.
The point is, taking off the shoe while driving is dangerous.
@@NY-hB9teu6ue7 That might work if the shoe ends up under the pedals but I don't understand how a shoe or basketball being on top would do anything. It doesn't put any pressure in the pedal.

This is a really cool anime and cant wait to watch it, with my other half.. Also, yeah, as soon as the teacher was introduced, i suspected him the whole time..Just the way he suddenly appeared and was abit shifty when telling us the girld birthday..

Honestly, I thought this series would lead into him leaving info to his mother about what he could do, and the info he gathered, thus awakening her own powers in the present and going back to save him from dying in the past.
The real goal should have been to stop the killer in the past, rather than in the present.

If the dude had directly followed girl to bathroom... and had been watching the entrance there is no way the teacher would have tricked me into leaving with him, also why didn't the protanganist realise it was a different car i would noticed immediately due to the licence plate alone , The only intelligent thing the dude said was i know your future to the killer so the killer didn't let him die. Also him just happening to be there would be sus as fck.
