I miss the old days where going to the drive-in was the highlight of the week!!! I remember my siblings and I sitting on top of the hood on blankets watching the screen! Had such fun times!!!
I don't remember, I was small. My dad once told me of a time when a cricket joined us in the car when we went to the drive in. It chirped going and coming and at the drive in.
Too bad you missed the experience. I have fond memories of being at the drive in. The fondness, however, is because of the association with my childhood. I would not want to go to one today, even though there's one still open only a couple of miles from me. The sound and picture in my home setup or in a theater is better.
I'll never forget my first Drive in Theater experience, I went to the Auburn Valley 8 Drive-In that was in Auburn Washington ( state ), I saw Herbie Fully loaded there as it has recently came out at the time, I arrived 1 hour before sunset and I remember seeing people tossing golf discs around the empty lots, folks playing near the playgrounds that were available, small snack bar nowhere close to the golden years but still running, however the biggest difference is now you listen through your radio instead of a drive in speaker for your window mount.
I love those Intermissions commercials because it's beautiful and magical and it's wonderful to see your favorite movie/film Memories. Keep up the good work. 👍👍👍
Thank you! I love them as well! Check out the RUclips channel FT Depot. They have many more and at 4K quality! They add to their collection frequently so subscribe! 😀
Remembering Family Time on the weekends in a teal blue Ford Station Wagon with the 7 of us waiting for the MAIN FEATURE with our pop corn and Cokes and in our pajamas ...Lol 😂😂😂 🍿 🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿🍿
Many's the time as a kid where I'd be all smug and self-righteous that I stayed awake for the third feature at the drive-in. And then I'd wake up in time for my father to put the speaker back on the rack and start the car to go home. The Coke ad at 39:21 was in the intermission reel for the theater we always went to, so it's fun to see it again.

I moved to the East Bay just a little bit after they shut down Union City, so I usually go to San Jose's Capitol drive-in, or Concord's drive in. I wish I could have made it to Union City's since I live close to the Hayward/Union City line.
@@luisreyes1963 there are many gruesome flicks around the world not just in Italy, i guess you'll never see movies like Hostel, Martyrs or High Tension (these two are from France )
3:52 holy that is dark I know mosquitos always sting us but holy they didn’t had to show the bugs literally choking losing oxygen and dying they could’ve just added them passing out but it’s 70 years late to change it
This is a nice wide-ranging time capsule. However, there must be something wrong with me. In the last 68 years, I may have gone to a drive-in 6 times and maybe 2 of those were voluntary. As a kid in the early 60's I did the Saturday shows at the Fox theater any chance I got. Had no problem sitting through a Bond marathon at a shopping mall theater in the 80's but after my first couple of times, a drive-in was never on the list of acceptable venues. Especially if it wasn't my car. I hope I'm not the only one.
During COVID, the two here in my area were BOOMING with business. Reminded me of my youth. Glad to see it because they are still getting more business than they were a few years ago.

The more i see those Drive-In intermission screens, the more i long to visit a Drive-In movie just once in my life. Thanks for the memories.

Some of these bits aren't drive in related, but the stage shows looked like a hoot. Wish I could have seen them.
Loved the creepy openning creature.
The live spookshow trainlers are always fun.

GREAT MEMORIES.
Yummy, there is nothing good, like a cold pizza and a warm coke....
Be honest: would you trust a drive in with free photos of Richard Pryor? I didn't think so!

And for all the 50's 60's teens at the drive-in, there should have been a slide that read "Please be sure to use condoms".

I call them walk-in theaters, that's where I saw "The Great Race"; intermission was at the part when both cars are on an ice floe.
