There is nothing more beautiful than the sight of a free orangutan, high up in the trees of the lush Indonesian rainforest. For orangutans released by IAR Indonesia, those first steps of freedom are the culmination of a journey that has seen them undergo years of recovery and rehabilitation at the rescue centre.
Protecting this Critically Endangered species is crucial. Threatened by factors such as rapid deforestation for industrial-scale agriculture, as well as devastating forest fires and hunting for the illegal pet trade, we are running out of time to save one of our closest cousins from extinction.
Thankfully, there is hope on the horizon. IAR Indonesia is dedicated to the rescue, rehabilitation and release of these magnificent apes. The aim is to eventually release all the rehabilitated orangutans into protected areas of forest, helping the repopulation of the species. The released orangutans thrive in these beautiful, biodiverse areas. With an abundance of fruit, trees and dense undergrowth, they have everything they need to be happy, healthy, and most importantly…FREE!
Releasing an orangutan is a long and costly process. Everything from rescue, rehab and release is funded entirely by YOU.
On this special week of giving, help us continue the fight for the survival of this species. Our target is £10,000, with all donations going directly towards the orangutan rescue project. Please donate today and together we can work to build a future where orangutans can live safely within a diverse forest ecosystem.

Thank you so very much for taking good care of all the Orangutans. Your work is appreciated worldwide.
From Australia.
Up the top of the video and to the right, it says “Sorry, you can’t donate in this country or region yet”. It seems strange that they don’t accept donations from Australia. I hope that by liking your videos and subscribing helps your organisation financially.
Thank you so much for your kind words and generosity, we really appreciate it. If you would like to make a donation via the website instead, please follow this link www.internationalanimalrescue.org/donate?project_name=Orangutan%20Rescue
Thank you for your work IAR 🙏🏻❤️
This whole video I was worried about both the orangutans and their carers. I'm sure it's rewarding for the humans, but I wonder how hard it is for both species to say goodbye? Seeing the orangutans immediately climb up and I knew they knew they were home and they were ready. Such a lovely thing!
❤&Tytyty 4 all your Magnificent works ❣
Thank you so much for your selfless work and kindness. The majority of people have a long long way to go before we reach the character of so called " animals". A lovely day to you all

Fantastisch❤❤❤

You guys should try to lobby the US film industry for a sizeable donation since they have made millions over the decades extorting great ape "actors".
No way, those apes got paid.
23 is that a tumor on the shoulder blade?
0:00 got in quick scrape (on back of neck) exiting cage. I would of -most certainly- instinctually tended to my head/neck, thereby gifting orang utan opportunity to flee. cheeky! I suppose that's what qualifies their capable of getting close enough for transfer?
HUH?
@@seka1986 I just watched at quarter speed. This literally did not occur.
May the wildlife trade stop and people will stop keep and torturing these beautiful animals for their own pleasure. They should be left alone in the wild
