Dang I remember having the OneX, look how far tech has come my dudes
Man, this is crazy watching this in 2020. This was back when every new smartphone was exiting, unlike now when everything is exactly the same-giant phablet with a hole in the screen and 50 cameras on the back.
Htc one x is the better phone in my opinion and I have used both
if s-voice is enabled and you click the home button there is a delay while touchwiz waits to see if you hit the button a 2nd time to bring up s-voice, if you dont hit it within .5 second THEN the button press is processed as a request for the home screen. this does cause a delay. research ppl!
HTC one x is a lot faster over time s3 performance drops even without the added apps

You can press and hold the Shutter Button for Burst Shot unless if its off in the settings menu. No need to access the mode toolbar. Best Photo takes only 8. Burst Shot takes 20.
i owned htc one x for 6 months, i now have galaxy s 3 for 5 months and I just bought
new htc one x again. I like the micro sd card option on samsung and thats where things stop.
Here are the points which I think you should look upon when choosing between the S3 and the One X.
Go with the S3 if you want:
A voice command (S-voice)
A better battery life(has 2100 something like gghz dunno while One x is just 1800)
Go with the One X if you want:
A better multitasking interface - Sense 4.0 is actually "better" than Touchwiz 3.0

AT&T has an online special for the HTC One X for $499.99, minus instant discount of $400, plus an online discount of $99 for a total of 99 cents with a two year contract. It is valid for upgrades if you renew your contract another two years. I just ordered mine. I hope it is as good as the reviews say it is.
HTC One X was a good phone when it was announced, but other than arguably the screen and build quality, the S3 seemed to have more advantages. HTC should have released it with the specs of the One X+, instead of waiting 5 months later to release it as a temporary successor, only to be succeeded 5 months later by the One.
I think these are the points you should look upon when choosing between these two
Go with the S3 if you want:
A voice command (S-voice)
A better battery life(has 2100 something like gghz dunno while One x is just 1800)
Expandable storage (You can go with 16 gb,32 and 64 and there are expansions. One x has just 32 and no expansions.)
Go with the One X if you want:
A better multitasking interface - Sense 4.0 is actually "better" than Touchwiz 3.0

The HTC is way better than the Samsung. The s3 feels cheap and plasticy whereas the one x has some sort of a rubbery back. Samsung galaxy 3 is definitely no where near as good as the HTC. HTC RULES!
It was only faster to boot, because the reviewer was using a "3" network htc One X bloated with unneeded software, while the S3 was the unlocked international version. Both phones are almost identical speed wise.
Odd you say that. I'm with ATT and just went from an HTC to a Samsung Note. With the HTC, I had to wait for over the air updates and it took quite a long time just to get Gingerbread. With the Note, I simply downloaded Samsung Kies and immediately updated my Note to Ice Cream Sandwich. Also, the Note is definitely lighter than the HTC but no less solid and employs Gorilla Glass.
The One X load up looks like it's from a reset power off, and not a regular power off, whereas the S3 looks like it was a regular power off.
My thought EXACTLY. My dual core HTC Rezound has 0 lag with anything. Of course I am on a custom ROM, but my phone is perfect the way it is. An ideal phone for right now would be a dual core 1.2 - 1.5ghz, 1gb RAM, 720p resolution, 8mp cam & front facing, and anywhere from 4 - 5" screen. Then an option for a HUGE battery like the Razr MAXX. There is absolutely no need for a quad core as of this this and probably 2 years to follow.
The four pins on the right side aren't speakers.... They are I believe pogo pins of bogo pins not sure which. However they are used for secondary accessories such as extended battery cases and docking capabilities.
Yes, a One X on CDMA, and expandable ad card slot would be a good idea to make. It's called the EVO 4G LTE.

The beats audio doesn't kick in on the one x until you plug in headphones .
The beats isn't used for the phone speaker it's just bigger, beats only works for headphones. And the S3 got a better audiochip and won't really need anything to sound good. But they're both amazing phones!
what are you talking about? The guy clicks the home button at 1:56 and the home screen completely loads at 1:58!
There is no 2nd home button click to activate S voice...it has nothing to do with s voice!
Well the thing is that a ringtone is supposed to get your attetion via LOUD SOUND and usually people answer the phone when they hear the ringtone and not start to admire the sound quality, but yeah I have the S3 and it's mono speaker doesn't sound so good and it will get worse over heavy use like listening to the radio, but that's why I mostly use headphones.
Plain and Simple. It depends what kind of phone you really want. Do you want a Fully Customizable phone go for the One X. Do you want a Simple phone with not a lot of Customization options, Go for the iPhone 5.
s3 has 2100 mAh removable battery, htc has 1800 mAh and non removable
yes I did and both has great screens..the s3's brightness is adjustable in the settings, it's not bright when you set it to auto..
htc one x has 312 pixles density and s3 has 306..thats almost nothing
the back cam are the same on both phones both has smart sensors and 8mp, so you're wrong about that
the s3 has front cam 1.9mp and htc has 1.3
s3 might not have beats but it has the loudest speakers compared to most phones
I like HTC's latest efforts. I'd have to agree though that Samsung has really pulled out ahead with the integration of hardware and software functionality. I'd really like to see HTC work on this more and incorporate more software integration and functionality alongside the improvements they made in their hardware.
I never bought another Galaxy phone after the S3
I bought the Galaxy S3 and returned it in a week due to constant headaches and eye straining from the oversaturated pentile display. I switched over to the One X and I no longer get them, kind of weird.
while it may not have htc sense. it does allow it to connect to a car like i do everyday. connecting it to a tv and the silent mode flipping over thing is on there too so there isn't really anything that the htc has that the samsung doesn't

He prefers Touchwiz to Sense, and I agree. The latest version of Touchwiz is just simple and leaves you happy, unlike its over versions.
I've seen a lot of tests ONE X on the internet, but on my device, these tests have not confirmed. I try Wi-fi Analyzer it is great

When I was holding in his hands SGS3 I was convinced of the plausibility of these videos. SGS 3 faster at some points in the benchmark, but it is much less reliable than HTC One X
that's your opinion and i respect that, to me as (an iphone 4s and gs3 owner) I think the s3's screen colors looks almost the same as the 4s..I know many people who think the s3 has richer colors than most smartphones,and some others don't including you
the HTC One X front facing camera also has major problems because it fills with dirt very quickly, it is a flawd design because the camera lens is engraved into the body rather than flattened out along with the surface. This creates opportunity for all kinds of dirt and dust to build up in that pocket of space between the lends and the phones surface meaning your front camera will have the quality of a 0.000000000000000001mpx camera unless you clean the hole out every week with a wet cotton bud
I have been using Htc One X for one year.. And I decided to replace my device with the S3.. Firstly because of the front camera of the One X, its disappointed me a lot even though it is 1.3megapixel. And secondly the battery, it drains so fast that I must charge it everyday. Trust me guys, go for S3 :)
the samsung's glossy cover has the exact same texture as its gorilla glass 2 front, so i wouldn't call it cheap and plastic feeling. it really feels like glass....couple that with the better camera, bigger HD AMOLED disp, the faster quad-core exynos cpu, the larger removable storage and the more powerful Mali 200 gpu....oh, and it has an amazing media player. as an audiophile, i'm blown away. sounds great with my sennheisers.

Having had both phones, I eventually stuck with the One X. I must have been cursed with having a defective S3; slow wifi speed, TouchWiz crashing regularly, and graphics just lagging. Plus, the screen is unlegible outdoors, and has a risk of burn-in. It's still an excellent phone, but it wasn't for me.
The sensor of S3 camera should have been better such like One X's. At daylight, S3 camera takes a photo with a shinier effect, while One X does it normally. I mean, the same image shot by S3 is more shining than One X. Also, S3's camera is not very very good at night, without the flash, it is unable to take good photos. And S3 fails while shooting somewhere with a light source; it downgrades the light and everything looks darker. I have S3 btw.
Instead of only comparing what both devices have, maybe you should also compare the features that one device has that the other doesn't.
That will clearly show that one device is far SUPERIOR than the other.

I thought he was talking in the USA... since the HTC One x in this review is the dual core version, not the quad core that is for international users.
I use to have the HTC One x plus which to me was a better phone then the HTC One X. Im just using the Galaxy S3 as a backphone and its still working very smoothly. I give props to Samsung for making the Galaxy S3 having a long lasting effect but if its bloated it can slow down the phone so beware and to backup then reset when that happens.
I stand corrected the One X does indeed have far better audio quality. Spoken from an audiophile. My hearing is damaged and there is a definite quality advantage in the One X.
The S3 having 2 GB of ram is more important to me as it does have very good sound quality also.
@Simon Haley The international quad core version has 1Gb while the American has a dual core with 2 gb of ram.
The HTC one x in this video is carrier branded by 3 the Samsung appears to he unlocked, the boot time and extra apps on the one x are caused/added by the three network.
have you tried both phones side by side?? Just open a simple thing like the Google play, Android market, on both phones side by side and you will see just how brighter and better colors are on the htc, videos also look better. A company that deals with screens gave htc A grade, and samsung B+ (iPhone A+) you can google it. Also the camera is slightly better and beats audio are a real addition if like me,you use your phone to listen to music a lot. S3 doesn't have better battery life neither!

Yeah I agree, but I think Sense 4+ is looks nice but pure AOSP isn't bad. But that's why I root my smartphones. So I can choose whatever system I would like to have + You often get better performance, overall speed and plenty of system settings you can play with.
I'm sure they're both well-perfoming phones, but the One X's hardware is simply stunning.
They are both as quick regarding gaming and browsing really, but the htc's screen has better colors, colors are brighter and look superior. Just go to a store try them side by side at something really simple as the Android market, Google play, and you will notice how different & better are the colors on the htc!
The One X dosen't detect which photo is the best it just choose the photo you have selected and delete the others*
people care a lot about what other people saying! for me I'm going to buy a htc one x. the design of it looks so cool. i also like Samsung, but it's a time to change.
Just to let people know, a coworker along with my self have compared the S3 with HTC One S (beats audio) with the same headset and audio file. The S3 sounds better. Also the S3 has a feature for best shot when using burst mode with photos or you can do what he does and chose one yourself
I will get the HTC One X it is a beautiful phone, take good pictures and the audio is really good. You will not regret the decision. The iphone 5 is pretty much like the iphone 4 except for some minor changes so you won't get much trill out of it.
It's still better than the GS3's display, so I don't know what you're talking about :D One X has the same amount of pixels, but they're pushed in a slightly smaller screen, so there are more pixels/inch. Also, the GS3 uses a pentile display, which means you can still see pixels, while on the One X's RGB display, you cannot. AND the colors are more true-to-life on the One X...
Nobody ever mentioned these 2 features of the One X when they compared it with other phones. The first would be the car dock feature which is great if you're on the road a lot! And then there is the media link feature! Most reviewers only said One X loses because it's battery is non removeable and doesn't have SD card slot. Phone buyers have to look at the bigger pictures and don't just follow of all these so-called reviewers.
HTC ONE X has a 4.7 inch screen and the Samsung Galaxy s3 has a 4.8 inch screen
i had a htc One X for over a year, unfortunately i broke it by getting it run over and tried to repair it myself which was a fail so i ended up recycling it. It was a decent phone but i got really tired of it overheating and the battery draining ferociously. I then got a htc 8x which i just sold, hated it. I've now ordered an s3 so cant wait to find out how much better it will be than the One X if at all.
it has a play store: android version of app store... many free apps, and in general it has more apps than app store.. :)
and i believe there wouldnt be any problems transferring files from phone to mac. you just plug in the usb cable and use data transfer and than browse the HTC's file system... u might have problems using HTC synch manager with apple devices.. on windows sync manager works great... :)
I had them both for 2 weeks, you have to try the camera, the one x is better, and you have to try both screens showing the same video, or even just open the android market, Google play, on both phones at the same time and you will be AMAZED by how vibrant and better the colors look on the htc! I like both phones but the screen and camera were really better on the ONE X,,
As I've had the One X for 5 months now, lets be honest... it's a much better phone. Better quality and not made of cheap plastic like the S3, Beats, it's thinner, feels more expensive, and doesn't have to run touchwiz. MUCH better display.
I have an HTC One X and wish I got the S3 or Note 2 instead. Why? The removable battery, expandable memory, the greater Samsung software support over HTC, the larger screen. The One X also can over-heat if using for satellite navigation - not sure about the S3.

dude, they both look awsome. I personally have the HOX and the screen is SPLENDID! ;) People say it's the best screen ever seen on mobile phone.. but again, both are super cool...
its not lag its called waiting for the second home button click to activate s voice and you can remove that if you dont like and also you can reduce the time of the transitions and that make the fastest android i have ever use
And remember the 700 000 apps are not all available on every android one phone.
Each phone has a different screen size/res, ram and clock speed ect so the dev has to make a different version for each phone your phone might not even have a 1/4 of the apps lol
You, sir, are a legend. After favouring the htc one x for most of the part, i thought the conclusion would be that you would personally recommend the one x but i have no idea what happened there.
It seems like he liked the camera better on the One X ( better burst mode) and also said the app switcher better, also mentioned he did not like the home button on the S3 then ultimately said he would prefer to own the S3? WTF? He that it is because the interface seemed smoother as he swiped through home screens on both phones as they both scrolled back and forth at seemingly the same speed, not to mention the apps opened faster on the One X. WTF?
Funny thing about this so called comparison, is that the beats audio only activates when you have somthing plugged into the 3.5 mm jack... Not on the speaker itself.
He got the screen sizes so Wrong, He said the One X has 4.8 (when it's 4.7) and he said the GS3 has 4.9 (when it's 4.8)
Another thing with Samsung is their logos are very simular to iPhones and HTC because they have nvidea you can buy games specifically made for HTC. HTC are also the first phone to be PlayStation certified outside the xperia line and it also comes with beats also the HTC one x box is oval shape this is becuase it stops them from looking the same as iPhones while Samsung's box is exalt identical to iPhones my advice to you would be to go for the HTC also pioneer are making speaker for it :-)
I really like the design of HTC ONE X and the build quality... I think the specs doesn't really matter so much, the most important is the user experience, I've been using it for 1 year, and it's still remain the image of a flagship phones. (y)
I dont find removeable battery that necessary, if ur trying to find feature that htc has over samsung check out htc sense,,, it has lots of stuff from using it in youre car, using ur HDTV to show media, or flipping ur phone to turn it to silent mode,,,( if ur in a meeting or school )
Forget about the numbers man, and I am not saying the S3 is bad, I really like how it feels in hand, the blue one, and wished the one X felt as slick in hand. I also love the Samsung motions, I had it for two weeks....but the colors!! The resolution may be the same, but the colors on the One X are definitely more vibrant and real.

I just got the s3 yesterday...i prefer a faster phone with a lot of features, optimizations,support by developers, which still looks very good over a slightly better design and nothing more. You decide :)
I really enjoy the feeling of the S3's home button honestly. feels stable without feeling like a brick.
also, touchwiz blows. if anyone reading this used an S3 and doesn't want to root and rom it, at least use NOVA launcher. it's beautiful and runs super smooth.
HTC would be the best phone out if it didn't have some really bad cons.
Those cons are: horrible battery life compared to the SG3, no external memory expansion option (microSD/HC), half the RAM/memory (1GB instead of 2GB) of the GS3, Samsung's custom version of 4.1 ICS makes the HTC's 4.0 ICS feel like there's something to be desired.
Otherwise the HTC processor feels a tad faster, the screen is equally as good as the AMOLED, great ergonomics, good audio, solid quality feel, and more.
Why does your One X take so much longer than my One XL to start?
32 GB (26 GB user-available) storage of htc one x , beat audio and still one of the top screen display,i think a lot of people can live with that. i would choose htc one x over s3 ,but both too pricy for me~
S3 has the best performances but there is no big differenc.
The One X, in the other hand, is prettier, feels better, has a better screen and better camera.
If you want performance and, GB extention and battery life go for the S3.
But if you want a prettier phone who feels good and still is very powerful, get the HTC One X.
Now, with the S4 and HTC ONE, these 2 equipments will be very cheap and still premium material.
one x's beats only works with external speaker/headphones, the speaker in the one x doesn't work with beats.
s3 is better -->removable battery , expandable memory , better battery life
give me one feature htc has that s3 doesn't other than design.

Its me personal view . I have used Iphone 4 S and S3 as well. In my opinion S3 is far better than iphone ( Except Iphone Touch , which is phenomenal ) ...
If Project butter , smoothen the touch in Andriod , then nothing can beat S3.
I just got a one x yesterday and i love it i meen the best camera ive seen on a phone yet the sound with beats audio is so loud theres so many features you literally have to take atleaste a day or 2 before you even get close to figuring out what all it does!!!
People defend the HOX by saying it has true to life colors. Don't get me wrong, that's awesome, but if I wanted to see true colors, I'd go out and see the actual things in real life...
I had an HTC inspire for 2 years with no problem. 'upgraded' to the One X, and have had 2 screens crack after less than a week. A $99.99 upgrade has now cost me over 300 dollars because of insurance premiums. I did not drop the phone, it was all because of temperature changes. Forget the One X and get the Galaxy. I wanted to be loyal to HTC, but in 2 years their build quality has gone to hell. Avoid at all costs.
who told you that.. no one can challenge HTC... my cousin work in the apple and he is an specialist for apple store and HTc... he also told me that HTC is better than sG3... the only different is that s3 had a 2gig RAM and HTC 1gIg RAM
The One X also has a LED notification inside the top grill...
the difference on the speed is pretty close you can't even notice that. and for me, what is important in every phone you own is that what satisfy your eyes, and HTC ONE X is way to go.

Yes, it's running the nvidia gpu but galaxy s3 has a more powerful gpu no matter if it's not an nvidia chip...I just ran benchmark tests for both and galaxy s3 wins.
You won't notice any difference while using the phones anyways so it doesn't matter.
I'm not saying One X is not a good phone, but galaxy s3 has a minor advantage with performance..They're both great phones and One X makes up the performance difference with it's better physical build... Use the one that feels better in your hand ;)
ooh, the one x has a Tegra 3 soc...my bad.
but still, i guess it comes down to my preference, i like the solid, weighty yet super slim feel of the samsung, always liked their products, and i figure its feature set made more of an impression on me too. if touchwiz doesn't suit you just get Nova Launcher from the play store or something, same goes with sense 4, which is apparently less than amazing =3

Especially with the 4.3 update which made the phone even slower!!!
How's the htc now in jelly bean ? Did the battery resists more in jelly bean ? How about the lag and the slow ram memory ? Which one do u prefer now in jelly bean ?
Doing remembrance on these phones, the HTC One X, design, materials, etc. was much more beautiful. I don't understand why Samsung won by speed if the SGS3 was a lousy device in every sense.

That HTC One X's startup is really painful to watch. I always found that my HTC Desire took extremely long as well..
There was a camera on the home screen on the S3, yet you couldn't find it :p
I had One X before the S3, I assumed by default the S3 screen will b as vivid and great as the oneX's & that I only have to choose between the different softwares & shape. Well, as good as it is, colors are so different, IMO, from the htc,less vibrant, over saturated, a bit unreal and dull for my taste. Don't get me wrong, it is really good but I got hooked up to the clarity of the OneX, besides I felt the oneX's camera was a bit better, so I paid a restocking fee to at&t and got another OneX!
yep, important part about the 5th companion core, that is underclocked to save battery while in a sleep mode... :) and sens ROCKS! oh btw, One x is now upgrated to ICS 4.0.4 which is MUCH smoother! ;)
