I lost my father (aged 55) last year. Dad and I watched this movie together, years ago. Towards the end, he and I both cried. He cried because he remembered his Dad who passed away decades ago. I cried because it made me think about what if I lost my Dad. Both of us looking at each other crying was something not even my mom could understand. I never understood his pain when he talked about loosing his father. Now I know ❤️
Stormy Davis you are so right! The message is simple and sweet! It is a very underrated movie. Showed it to my six year old niece the other night and she LOVES it.
I agree. I would of loved to seen a sequel to this film. Could of done a 2nd film where Jack returns for another Christmas and they have more fun and adventures possibly.
@@kindnessark8064 I think that would have cheapened the movie's message lol. The message was for the son to make peace with his dad and have some real memories with him, but finally for everyone to learn to let their dad go
One of my favorite Christmas movie as a kid. I remember watching it on VHS. How fast the time goes. I’m in my late twenties and I feel old already. I had the best childhood and this movie reminds me of the good old days.
Right there with you. Good childhood, and this movie was a part of it. The accident, the snowball fight and sled chase, and the cabin scene at the end tugs at the heartstrings even to this day decades later. My family watches this every Christmas and it never gets old.
‘As long as you hold someone in your heart. You can never loose them.’ Rest in peace Kelly back with Jett for all eternity. Hope John, Ella and Benjamin can be strong for her. 💙
It's criminal this movie was not very popular. It's simple yet still manages to tug on the heartstrings. The snowman animation looks great, and the ending scene with the cabin is one of the best. My family loves this movie; we watch it every year and it never gets old.
This is an extremely underrated movie, but it is a tough watch. It is sweet, touching and honest while also playing with every emotion possible. It really rips at your heart strings because Jack wants to provide for his family but be a dad at the same time, and never gets the chance until it’s too late. The anguish of the mom and kid is palpable.
I agree. From a Christmas point of view I always felt that it was God that gave Jack a 2nd chance to be with his Son he never spent any time with. It honestly a very emotional but funny film and the critics giving this a poor rating is so wrong. I dont care the special effects wreak of 90's green screen. Its the emotion and fun of this film that captured me really and thats what it is about.
One of the BEST Christmas movies ever. Michael Keaton, Mark Addy and Henry Rollins provided the comedy, and Joseph Cross and Kelly Preston provided the deep and emotional side.
I mean michale Keaton has done some bad ass movies but this isn’t one of them 😂🤣 the greatest Christmas movies is Christmas vacation. It was widely popular when it released and it’s grown in Popularity more and more over the years.
@@MrPHUCKYOURSELF Christmas vacation is my favorite but this is also a great movie. I’m curious if you actually gave it a chance? I know it’s a silly concept at face value but the acting is really good and they portray emotions and grief really well throughout the film. The music is also really good and ties with the scenes so well. I watch it every year and I cry every time
I watched this on my own at about 7/8 years old and I had never cried so much from a film in my life! Was such an amazing film and just can’t bring myself to watch it again
One of my favorite movies of Kelly Preston’s Rest In Peace I hope you are with your son now and no longer in pain you’ll be missed forever and never forgotten and always remembered!
I bought this movie on dvd recently as I hadn't seen it in ages and while watching it I remembered what a great movie it really is. It's just one of those feel good no strings attached films that makes you laugh and cry all at the same time. Great stuff, love it!! ⛄👍
This is my all time favorite childhood Christmas movie. Being born in 95’ I grew up with this faithfully every holiday season. Brings back to many memories. It’s so different watching it as an adult and understanding the meaning, but still is nostalgic.
Me too. This movie is part of my childhood and I’m thankful for it. Even as a kid, I couldn’t stop crying at the end of it… maybe cause I can relate with the idea of it. My dad passed away when I was very young, and when my mom and I would watch this movie together.. she’d mention “I wish someday your father could visit us like how Jack visits them in the end” I was born in 92
I watch this every Christmas this movie always hits me in the feels and I can't stop watching this movie and remesing of being younger wheb they play that song when his dad died and he walking home from school I swear it always hits me hard I will watch this movie untill I'm long gone
I think this film hits you harder if you first watch it while being young, a child, like I did. Not because it's a bad film only children can enjoy. It's because only children can understand it. This is one of the most underrated films. It's not perfect, ofcourse. But I will never forget how emotional it made me while watching this when I was a little boy.
it's sad i relate to this comment but sadder i just laughed at it but have been crying for the past hour after watching for the first time since i was little 😭
I remember this snowman scaring me everytime I watched my vhs tape for How The Grinch Stole Christmas. I ran out of the room everytime this trailer came on.
I am going to watch this with my best friend tonight virtually of course I think I’ve seen it before but I can probably watch it again because after Kelly Preston died I don’t think I can watch any of her movies to sad but I’m excited to watch again tonight and I’m probably gonna cry even though usually don’t cry in movies rip Kelly and Merry Christmas and Happy☃️☃️☃️☃️ Hollidays everyone ! 🎄🎄🎄🎄💚💚💚💚
The Christmas after this came out my parents rented us a bunch of Christmas movies from Blockbuster. Jack Frost was one of them. We heard so many great things about it. But when we went to watch it as a family it turned out they accidentally rented the serial killer Jack Frost version lol.

Aging is a scary thing.

This is a far, Far, FAR better film than critics care to share, it's a TRUE CHRISTMAS CLASSIC!

No.
I agree. I would of loved to seen a sequel to this film. Could of done a 2nd film where Jack returns for another Christmas and they have more fun and adventures possibly.
I mean it is a wholesome and heartwarming holiday gem but let's be real here the snowman design looks a bit creepy

One of my favourites too I'm 31.. crazy how time fly's
My husband and I put this on for the kids because I remembered how funny I thought it was. But watching it as parents we were a mess by the end 😭
Yes! I cry every time at the end.
I thought it was cheesy the kills where meh and the horror of the movie sucked
@Cancer Itself185 it’s the man himself cancer

Rest In Peace Kelly Preston 🙏♾
Rest in peace

Wow I never knew she was John travolta’s wife. I’m so sad for John travolta, losing both his wife and his son 💔
In my opinion one of the best Christmas movies ever. It's so underrated.
My god, the nostalgia. This was one of my favourites as a kid
The snowman here is better animated than the horror version
Yeah
rat I know
rat True but I still like the movie :v
agreed
What did you expect from a low-budget movie? -_-
I literally cry every time I watch this movie, it’s so good! The actors all did so well and it’s heartbreaking yet heartwarming at the same time

This movie really DOES bring on the tears!!
Boy plays harmonica and summons his father's soul back from Hell
Why hell?
Long Haired Lioness everyone did something bad
Zerohero 30 I don't understand
I think the true hell would be inhabiting a snowman's body instead of being a flesh and blood person

Well, at least he’s honest about lying to his kid!
back when they used to give away every plot point in just the trailer, this movie is one of my faves since I was a kid.
I hope that now, Kelly knows the meaning of the words, 'Eternal peace'.
People give modern trailers a hard time for showing nearly all of the movie, but this trailer is proof that it's not a modern problem.

All of a sudden it's way more understandable why Michael Keaton stopped acting for 15 years.
Michael Keaton plays the best Batman and best Snowman
The title should've been changed to cause less confusion with the 1997 horror film that shares the same title.
