Also. There will never be another Paul McCartney. He came from almost poverty and made it big, along with the other Beatles [ even though John Lennon ws considered middle class because was raised in a middle class home by his Aunt Mimi].

A view to a kill - Duran Duran, Goldeneye - Tina Turner, Nobody does it better - Carly Simon, You know my name - Chris Cornell, Thunderball - Tom Jones, Goldfinger - Shirley Bassey, Diamonds are forever - Shirley Bassey, For your eyes only - Sheena easton. Alot of good bond songs besides this one. But this one is deff top 3 for me

Theme for James Bond film. Paul has so many GREAT songs. It’s incredible and still amazes me that one person can create so many. He’s almost superhuman. Whenever someone asks what’s your favorite Wings song……it’s impossible to pick just one or five. All his songs are so different. You wonder how he comes up with all these great tunes.

‘Live and Let Die” was a James Bond spy novel written my Ian Fleming in 1954. The title is sort of a joke on the common phrase Live and Let Live. It was adapted to a movie in 1973 and Paul McCartney wrote the theme song.

1973 Bond film theme. Paul is famous for not throwing away little bits of songs he has written. Sometimes, he will be writing something else and get done with another short idea, then combine the two or three little songs to make one song. This song famously was written IN 10 MINUTES!. After he received the call asking if he would write the theme, he sat at the piano, and just started right in mumbling over certain areas but having the whole song idea and the music outline in 10 minutes.

I have seen Paul McCartney perform this song live 5 times in my lifetime. Always lots of fireworks during the performance of this song. It gets the crowd going. Paul McCartney is the KING of musical transitions He has many songs where he changes the tempo and style of music several times in the middle of one song. For other examples do reactions to: Band On The Run, Silly Love Songs and Admiral Halsey/ Uncle Albert. The more you hear Paul's music, the more you will realize how great a composer he is. Also, of all the Beatles' Paul's work sounds the best produced. He is a perfectionist and you can hear it. You want something fast and hard from the Beatles? Do a reaction to HELTER SKELTER by The Beatles. Make sure it is the original White Album version for the best version of the song. It will blow your mind. Here is a link for the right version. ruclips.net/video/vWW2SzoAXMo/видео.htmlfeature=shared
No mystery to why he wanted to be the performer of the song because it gave his group Wings more attention and a broader audience with the exposure. Why should he give all of that to someone else?

I can assume that Paul McCartney wanted his band Wings in the movie credits because he was not established as a solo artist at the time and wanted his new band to get the promotion and top billing in a major movie.
People don't know that after the Beatles broke up in 1970, Paul McCartney got the brunt of hate for breaking up the band because he sued the band to end their partnership (He revealed later that John Lennon had already left the Beatles... he sued them to keep their manager Allen Klein from stealing from the band's assets. Since McCartney wasn't signed to Klein as manager, he had no choice)
After The Beatles were over, Paul spent months in isolation from depression and his bank account was frozen because of his lawsuit w/ The Beatles... His wife Linda had to support him and their 2 kids during that difficult time... Eventually, he found his way back and released 2 solo albums 'McCartney' and 'Ram'... but had yet to tour and play live concerts again since 1966.
McCartney formed his first post-Beatles band Wings and enlisted his wife Linda to be part of it... They had to literally start touring the UK in vans in 1972 because there was little money and no name recognition for Paul as a solo artist, even after massive fame as a Beatle... and he wouldn't play Beatles songs in concert... But Paul was willing to build his career from the ground up and it paid off after a few years as more hit records came w/ his solo career.
Paul wanted to tour the US but the Nixon administration refused to grant him a US visa for years... they even targeted John Lennon for deportation during the Nixon years... Wings could not tour America until 1976 after Nixon resigned the presidency and Paul McCartney returned to America as a superstar.

Paul also performed it in his Super Bowl halftime show. When you are Paul McCartney, you can demand most anything you want. He wanted the song to play a prominent role in the film so that it would get the attention it deserved. So he insisted that if they wanted him to do it, the song would be in the film’s opening titles. By the way, there’s not much difference between a songwriter and a composer. They both do the same thing they write the song. I think you’re thinking of the arranger, the guy who lays out how the orchestra or the backing instruments are gonna play the track. And then the producer basically directs what happens in the studio as far as how it’s recorded, mixed, etc..

Guns N' Roses made "Live and let die" a hit again in 1991 when they covered Paul McCartney's song.
This was from the 70's just as Paul McCartney was working on launching his solo career... he was approached by the producers of the James Bond movies to write the theme song for the Roger Moore 007 movie "Live and let die"... and it was recorded w/ a symphony orchestra.
Paul McCartney also became friends w/ Michael Jackson and wrote MJ's song "Girlfriend"... and "The girl is mine" (which McCartney sang on ) and MJ sang on his track 'Say, say, say' in the 80's... Their partnership ended when Michael Jackson used his fortune to outbid Paul McCartney to the rights to The Beatles' catalog of music when they went up for auction... McCartney was also upset when MJ gave Nike the license to use The Beatles song 'Revolution' in one of their ads in 1987.

And wrote the orchestra part. And the film score. Martin was not your typical producer, he was a classically trained musician who knew his stuff and how to use it in modern pop music. A major ingredient in why the Beatles made it big, and why Live and Let Die has this great orchestra score with power. When the film execs listened to it they didn't like it, blah blah, blah, wanted them to change it, McCarney and Martin stood their ground and said either take kit as it is and get another person to write another song. Like, you're talkin' McCartney and Martin here, not a couple of morons off of the street. The Execs cringed, backed off, and kept it in. Execs are often morons anyway.

The James Bond theme songs are another rabbit hole you should fall down! They don't play with the James Bond themes, they are nearly all cracking songs that were big hits in their own right, in the UK at least, sung by some of the best singers in the world, Matt Monro, Shirley Bassey (if you haven't heard her voice, she's a real power house and has sung I think 3 Bond themes over the years?), Tom Jones, Nancy Sinatra, Lulu, Carly Simon, Gladys Knight, Tina Turner, Adele, Duran Duran, A-Ha...the list goes on.

When the James Bond movie came out called "LIVE AND LET DIE" that was sort of a play on words for Live and Let Live, and also gave an indication of what that Bond film would be about. Paul wrote the song to go with the movie and is the THEME song of that Bond movie.

The story about the producers wondering who would perform the song in the film has been confused over the years. Recent research has proved that there was never any doubt about Paul performing the title sequence - that was contracted from the start. But the song was due to be used a second time in a cabaret sequence during the film itself, and there was discussion about who they'd get to sing *that.* George Martin seems to have misunderstood and often told the story as if they were wanting to replace Paul's performance. See Kozinn and Sinclair, 'The McCartney Legacy' for details.

The opening credits are usually some kind of animation. The 'Bond Song' for that movie is played during the opening credits. Altogether it sets a theme for it. He wanted it to be *that* intro song. It's a place of movie soundtrack honour/tradition for Bond films since the first film in 1962. The new Craig films changed the tradition a bit and I am more of a tradionalist when it comes to Bond themes.

Ok nephew let me put you on to Sir Paul McCarthy ish. Please react to the "the girl is mine", and "say say say" both by Paul McCarthy/Michael Jackson, and "Ebony and Ivory" by Paul McCarthy/Stevie Wonder. 🖤🖤🖤

If you get a chance to see it live on RUclips or elsewhere (find a big one), it will blow your mind. Beatles are always protective of their Brand...

Any of the Fab Four, after the break up...any solo project, from anyone from the Fab Four..you can hear the other 3.
Little known fact...they would have got together, again, but were never apart.

You mentioned "mother nature" a couple times. So now you must react to "Mother Nature's Son" by the Beatles (McCartney). You will like it. Wish you hadn't stopped it in the middle of the song?

The opening song of a Bond movie is everything. People turn off if it's at the end. It has to be the opening song. That's important. It sets the scene for the movie. And let's face it, it's an amazing song. But until then no rock band had ever done a Bond theme. If we stuck with tradition the song McCartney wrote would've been given to a singer like Bassey. But sense prevailed, and we have the best (my opinion) Bond theme ever, by McCartney & Wings.
PS. That little reggae bit in the middle was Linda McCartney's idea. It really makes it for me. Paul wasn't the only musical genius in the McCartney family.

Lol from a chase scene in a children's cartoon. NO it was the THEME SONG for the JAMES BOND movie with Roger Moore and Jane Seymore. Here is how it was seen in the theaters and if you rent or buy the movie on DVD. If you want to just skip to when the actual theme song and opening credits start go to mark 4:37... ruclips.net/video/lPgVSsHlwnw/видео.html and HERE is just Paul's Live and Let Die theme song that someone made and put actual SCENES from the movie to accompany it. ruclips.net/video/wYQZHNwIUq8/видео.html You might want to check out the movie after watching the clips here. Paul has always included this in all his concerts since 1976 up to now, and it's always a highlight of the show, because there are flash pots going off, lasers, explosions and if in an outdoor venue, fireworks are also added! I have seen Paul's concerts 15 times since 1976 up to 2018. He puts on a fantastic 3 hour long show with NO intermission and keep in mind he is lead singer on ALL the songs during those 3 hours.

All Bond theme songs are played during the opening credits with sections of them reprised through the rest of the movie. It wasn’t a special request.

So that leaves Ringo as your favorite singer?
Kidding aside, check out some of Ringo's songs from the 70's.
'It Don't Come Easy' and 'Photograph' are a couple good songs to start with imo.
