Fantastic & your helpers are so funny that I have to pause &watch because I'm watching them! Thankyou for such informative detail. Madison is now just over 4mths growing upwards but, not filling out alot. Think broth & goats milk like you've mentioned. I'm doing the sticks on 15mins marvellous. Thankyou Ann (Across the pond)😊
I'm loving all your videos and following your advice for my new puppy! I was wondering if you had any advice on what to do if a puppy becomes really possessive over treats like bully sticks? He is very sweet otherwise and lets me put my hand in his food bowl or take away food bowl with no issue, but if I go to grab a bully stick back he runs away/growls/tries to nip. I'm worried he'll swallow it so we have stopped giving him any chewable toys for now. He is currently 9 wks old and doesn't quite understand "leave it" yet. Thanks!
I would hold onto the bully while he chews it "sharing" it. Also teach him the "trade" game, that, while holding the bully with the other hand offer him chicken or steak. So he learns that something EVEN BETTER comes his way if he gives up a high-value chew.
I have an 11 week old Bernese mountain dog puppy. He is a love of my life. I have a question for you my dog likes to pull on his tail so hard it knocks them over any suggestions on how to get him to quit doing that? I can't let him play with a stuffed animal type of toys because I have some stuffed animals that I keep on my bed because I collect bat black bear stuffed animals I love watching your videos I hope you can help me with the tail pulling he's a great dog otherwise I just don't want him to hurt himself.
When do you stop giving trachea to your puppy? My guy is a tad over six months and loves the trachea. Also, I have a great picture of a bully stick my pup swallowed a couple weeks back and threw up during the night. I thought he had lost it under the couch and had no idea he swallowed it. Now, we hold them for him to chew and throw the leftover away. I’d be glad to email you the picture for education to others. I laid it next to a tape measure to show exactly how big of piece a puppy of six months could swallow. So scary!
Yes, all chew toys have their risks. I generally don't let puppies have bully sticks unsupervised and take the remainder away. I've never had an issue with adults, but again, always a risk. I think tracheas are fine for all ages, but again, with supervision!
@@sherryconley8226 I would try a 12 inch bully stick, make sure he won't finish it as the last part they shouldn't swallow. I also love the Red Barn White Knuckle bones.
I never use a rope toy. The rope can easily be ingested and causes A HUGE problem in the stomach and can require obstruction surgery. So I avoid them at all costs.
@@SitStaywithStacySlade thanks! I was more wondering what the thing was that looked like a rope in your video. It had something on it that slid back and forth.
@@kimberlylovings762 Ah! Yes, that is a puppy toy and while it is a rope it is a thick parachord or rope climbing rope that 1.) doesn't open up to a ton of strings, 2.) has tied ends. 3.) I use only for babies :) I can't honestly tell you where I got it, I've had it for years!

That was fun watching, dogs put on quite a good show, they are great, that Deuce is so a gorgeous dog, and so lovable too ❤️
Gina Anderson Thanks Gina! He’s a very sweet soul!
I agree! A dog like Deuce would be exactly what I would want in owning a burnese.
2:01 Deuce discovers treats and digs in.

@@SitStaywithStacySlade Thank you so much! I will try this with him. Love your videos they have been so helpful while I'm training my new berner pup!
Hi Stacy, love your videos! What about Kong toys? I've been reading about giving meals to your dog from a Kong or similar toy. Do you use those too?
I do! I love treat toys (or kibble feeding toys). I have a video on Brain Games...most of my go-to's are on that video :)

So I understand correctly, your puppy is pulling your older dog's tail?

what is the food for your dogs?
The treats I use for training are string cheese and Jerky treats.
What do you suggest toy wise to put in the crate when you are not around to supervise?
What age is your dog? I won't put anything in there that I haven't watched them interact with before.

@@SitStaywithStacySlade Hi Stacy, Where do you like to buy the 12 inch bully stick and the red bard white knuckle bones?
@@SitStaywithStacySlade Is the red bard white knuckle bones safe for puppies? I see that chewy has these.
