Dang, a lot of variety in this one, nice finds. Cali has such diverse habitat, more than most folks know. BIG striped racer, hoping to find a striped whipsnake in northern AZ in a few weeks. Similar looking to those.

My luck has been great the last few weeks. There's some good variety in some of the upcoming videos as well. I might have to increase my goal to see 100 species if I keep finding stuff. Good luck looking for striped whipsnake!

Congrats on such a successful herping adventure! It amazes me how closely the alligator lizard resembles an actual hatchling alligator. The Gilbert's skink looks similar to a skink species here in the Midwest known as a broad-head skink.

Thanks so much. The Gilbert's does look like the broad-head. Nicer tails but they don't get the nice reddish heads.

There a ton of great places around you. All those mountains around you are good for a lot of different types of snakes and salamanders. Plus you’re pretty close to some supreme habitat in the desert. Hope you find a ton on your adventures!
