Elune denied Tyrande the kill because Tyrande said "My life for hers" in Darnassian, this means Elune has something else in store for Tyrande and does not want her dead. Regardless this is probably the best non-cgi cinematic I have seen. The way Tyrande glows, how her skin shifts in color, the animation, and her turning into a freaking star bolt and blasting Sylvanas from the sky were just exhilarating to watch!
Though they have Malfurion much of the night elves that worship elune also follow Tyrande so she kind of needs to keep Tyrande alive, Lore wise anyway. the real practical reason is they need Sylvanas for the Raid.
I belive that Elune has something else to Tyrande too. Bc in the Lore Elune has SO MUCH power, if she wanted Tyrande will end Sylvanas in a blink of an eye. In the past Elune showed her power protecting Tyrande against powerfull people like Azshara. Again the plot armor that Sylvanas has but I wish Tyrande get her peace now.
Agreed. Tyrande's "moveset" with glaves is still somewhat strange, but this is definetly atleast one of the best non-cgi cinematics.
Definitely the best cinematic so far in Shadowlands. The fight choreography was stunning and her design is great. But it means naught in the end if Sylvanas does a one liner and disappears. And sadly, the Night Warrior may be coming to an end soon. Night elves and Tyrande deserve so much more.
@@Athelarius I was really hoping that Night Warrior would be a foreshadowing to a new Class, ideally somewhere between moonkin and Demon Hunter. sadly from the way it's depicted it's just another Demon Hunter Class.

@I Am Who I Am And in the book it is stated that they wear blindfolds because they gouged their own eyes during the test to become a demon hunter because it showed them they're the worst fear (and in the case of the mc it was re-seeing his family getting killed), I think.

After seeing the laughable one where Sylvanas goes after The Winter Queen and that wonky animation when she lands at the start of it, it's refreshing to see a cinematic that actually looks like effort was put into it.

The way she says it along with the facial animation was perfect. This is the best cinematic so far in Shadowlands. And that fight choreography was smooth and great, best since Rastakhan vs. Zul.

I think the jailor is keeping nathanos hidden and this is one of the reasons sylvannas will turn against the jailer in the end :v
@@Athelarius i would say that was a brief glimpse of surprise or shock from Sylvanas i haven't seen from her since Arthas stabbed her with Frostmoure. And Tyrande's expression of glee from telling her the news just shows her excitement at bringing her any form of suffering. Which i will praise Tyrande on that front, finding anything that the Banshee Queen values that much must be hard.

They retook their faction from Sylvanas, the Alliance didn’t do shit. They literally never win because the devs would rather wipe the Alliance out than let them win.
The way Sylvanas questioned, "Nathanos?" means that she did care for or even loved him.
Nathanos is the only person in all of WoW that Sylvanas every really cared about tbh

And she never even wondered where was Nathanos and how he was doing all this time?

The bit about Nathanos is *fascinating* to me, because I assumed that by now, Nathanos would be reunited with Sylvannas and working for the Jailor again. And yet, we haven't seen him since he died- all of the Jailor's important lieutenants are *living souls* from Azeroth. Either that or De Nathrius. It's curious to me that the Jailor doesn't make more use of the dead, like Nathanos, Arthas, or even other people who've died over the last two expansions like Varian Wyrnn, Draenor Gul'Dan, Queen Azhara, even the King of Zandalar. There are lots of dead people who would be interesting tools to compel to serve the Jailor, but none of them are being used. I wonder if that means that the Jailor is actually *using* the Maw's inmates for something...?
I think it's more so they get sent to be fuel for something. Or he knows their connections and is holding their souls to make some characters do things. Like black mail.
@@Dr_Disconnect I feel like the blackmail card could be played for a few of them, but the absolute lack of dead characters showing up in the Jailor's service makes me lean more towards the fuel angle, perhaps being tortured for anima and power I guess, but I dunno how exactly that goes.
Isn't Azshara still alive?
Some of the characters you mentioned can be explained through other means. For example, both Gul'dan and Varian could have had their souls destroyed by a fel blast, meaning there's nothing left of them to go to the Maw. The King of Zandalar can be explained thanks to the whole Bwonsamdi vs. Mueh'zala story line where we find out that Bwonsamdi is keeping troll souls safe from the Maw.
Rastakan's soul isn't in the Maw because Bwonsamdi is hiding the dead Zandalari souls from death in his pocket realm

This xpac=worst xpac, not just bc the've dumbed it down so much, but it looks like the writers didn't want to take the time to read up on Sylvanas (or any of the characters) or they lacked the comprehension skils.
So... Tyrande performed an ancient and dangerous ritual to avenge those who were killing during the Burning of Teldrassil and her new power was used just to kill Nathanos and save some souls of the Night Elves in the Shadowlands?

Considering how powerful Jailor is, her powers could be even used in a fight against him.

Horde players don't invite that but we can't write the lore. So we ate that shit and said ok. Then they spit in our fucking face and make our capital a raid. Then they wrongly accuse us of abandoning the battle on Broken Shore, while we were just retreating. Then Sylvanas becomes warchief and all this SHIT starts. Not at all what we want or intend. Blizzard shits and we take it. And you Alliance cubs raised your virtue flags and moral standards for every SINGLE one of those events (that were out of our hands because Blizzard fucking wrote it, not us) and shoved that SHIT so up our fucking noses, asses and whatever other cravice known to man. You jumped on that shit quicker than a fly, like sexually aroused animals throwing fitts about justice, while you are all just murder hobos (just like Genn Graymane the angwy pup) enjoying a position of privileged story moral highground. Temper tantrumus children. Pathetic and typical. And the whole story since Cataclysm got gradually worse, until it became absolutely detrimental, horrid fucking writing in WoD. Everything after that is just more of the same.

Nathanos was the only link left to Azeroth for Sylvanas at that point. The sadness was refreshingly human to see on her for once. I empathized with her a lot with her struggle to convince anduin and prove her own talking points true. Those seeds of doubt in her mind are coming to fruit eventually.

Im starting to think the Blizz writers all share seperate rooms and dont talk at all thing is starting to sound more and more real. Nathanos being abandoned by Sylvanas in the book, and then all of a sudden cared about in the game are basically two writers in a tug of war. Also when is Malfurion going to be let out of the character fridge? The last time him or Tyrande were especially well written was Warcraft 3. (Though arguably that can be said for most of the characters now.)
Ikr? I was so mad. I still like sylvanas (not her actions with bfa tho) but I am so mad in many ways. Probably because nathanos is a bad character imo and he shouldn't have hold. I think sylvanas should overcome her shit either alone or with the help of her sister. Not because "omg thr jailer didn't tell me nathanos died"
Additionally sylbanas should know that the jailer technically is behind her being a banshee so she shouldn't really wonder that secrets are kept.

I feel like the Malfurion that raised all holy hell in Warcraft 3 when he thought Tyrande was dead wouldn't just sit back now as she literally prepares to commit suicide. He's one of my favourite characters and the writers did him so dirty.

it would have been nice to see Tyrande actually get some licks in. Maybe a rage fueled headbutt as Sylvanas holds her off followed by a some punches before Elunes power waned. Obviously Syvlanas can't die, but it would be nice to see her bloodied more than a scratch from Saurfang.

really suprised you were able to advance that far. After two alt-f4's during the lagmonster scenerio i gave up just going to play it later.
I love the acting on both sides, both have moments to love. Tyrande and Sylvanas both interestingly developed characters.
The fight scene was very well done. It's like Level 15 characters in D&D, both having +4 Magical enchanted armor.
Having artifact weapons, and spell like abilities. A fitting scene for World of Warcraft higher level play, excellently done.
This is the most badass version of Tyrande I have seen yet. I know people are not gonna love her because she is an elf but I'll love her all the same
Big fan of the night elves personally, and always wanted them to get proper treatment in CGI like orcs did in BFA. Tyrande's arc seems to be the perfect opportunity.

The only place that non-destroyed Night Elf architecture exists that isn’t a shared zone like Moonglade is Feathermoon Stronghold, and that will probably be blown up next. The devs hate the Alliance and hate the Night Elves most of all. They literally gave the Horde a unique toy that copies the Night Elf racial. After this expansion we will never see the NE’s again. The Dark Irons will get more than the NEs do.

So let me get this strait, a 10000 year old night elf sentinel in her base form isn't enough to smack down Sylvanus, and even with the powers of an actual moon god she still fails? The lady is an expert fighter who has fought the burning legion twice, corruption and worse and is still unable to kill one banshee. See this is what I mean about Wow just being a fever dream and nothing actually happening after Warcraft 3.
Since legion writers give sylvanas biggest plot armor of all heroes. She survive fight with malfurion even he forces archimonde to retreat. And even night warrior, power who can destroy old gods can't defeat her. writers loves her so much they forget all lore only to make look sylvanas cool.

For those saying Tyrande can't defeat Sylvanas... Sylvanas has the pure look of fear in her eyes at 2:12. This look is from someone knowing they were about to be defeated until Elune decided otherwise. Blizzard needs to go ahead and showcase Elune and her true strength because she has been idle and not doing much for the people that worship her.
