They almost all suck. And not for the graphic or sound. But because most of them have a too slow scrolling or a too choppy animation-movement or a too small field-area and all of them do affect deeply the gameplay. They aged badly. The only fresh and still cool game are 2:00 1984 Defenda/Defender clone and 16:11 its improved version 1990 - Guardian II: they are fast and they have abstract simple, clean graphic that never ages.
'Scramble' 'Defenda' 'Zynaps' 'Chronos' 'Uridium' 'Salamander' 'Nemesis' 'R-Type' (The better Games that I remember playing in the 1980s on the Zx Spectrum.)
Penetrator and Cavern Fighter were quite good and impressive for the time being, while the original Scramble game for the ZX Spectrum was not very good.
Yeah! Used to love Uridium and Chronos.
❤️
Watching the video makes me realize how this wasn't the Spectrum forte, in spite of a couple of masterpieces, namely Zynaps and R-Type, plus Uridium
'Chronos' was another good game at the time..
Let's be honest, the Speccy didn't have a forte. Everything was a programmer struggling to triumph despite the hardware.
UN Squadron looks really impressive, especially given the Spectrum's limitations!
Penetrator, very good for that age, Uridium and R-Type
Zynaps, R-Type, Uridium

Galactic Gunners is most playable and technically well rounded.

Zybex?
This video is for SPACESHIP / AIRCRAFT shooters.
Pity these horizontal and vertical scrolling shooters are de facto a dead genre for a long time.
accelerated games, no 3,5mhz cpu
