Don't worry Flamu, once they've sold enough premium subs, they'll release a premium cruiser that has 'Active Sonar' that detects subs from 10km away. Then they'll slowly roll that out to other cruisers until subs are unplayable. Then they'll create a new type of sub called the 'gunboat' sub that doesn't rely on stealth and torpedoes for damage, but rather has high agility and rapid firing guns.
Through what channels can players feedback their issues with subs and feel like they're listened to? In any way? No, seriously. With the closure of forums etc it feels like they truly don't give a sh*t

Yes. Im really baffled too. Also with all the fun and engaging Submarines and Carriers which got added. WG really needs to double down on all these things. Then it might become better. Lets see. 😕
It's like they spent all this time and effort building the underwater maps, subs and "enhanced" carrier gameplay and they didn't want it to be wasted. Not that anyone asked for subs and "enhanced" carriers, but that's not the point. It's like the boss let them rough draft a few ideas for a few months and decided I can't have nothing to show for that time so we must push this forward. Then it became a clusterfuck trying to implement all these new mechanics into the original game. I just don't think they thought they would be able to get a bag from something few players wanted.
An ex Russian Company with that ex soviet autocratic mindset which is still prevailing in most of eastern Europe, and thats what we get ... I mean by certain metrics everybody can claim success. @@grimmshredsanguinus2915 I honestly quit 4 days after the CV rework, that was the last straw for me. Has to be some kind of bait and switch or something...
On the contrary, over the time both wg and gaijin fans became more and more demanding for premium account and people were gladly paying for something that was free before. People are stupid.
A lot of my friends stopped after subs were introduced. Every other class so far could be somehow outplayed with game sense and skill, while a sub can just pop up on your broadside and one-shot, or spam homing torpedoes without being detected... So if the enemy has a competent sub and you draw the first time sub player who dies in the first 2 minutes, the game is already decided
At least they could have given like subwater radar to destoryers maybe 8 km range for example as cruisers detect dds. As you said in this way playing against subs are really disturbing.
I found it hard as F___ to try to damage a sub with air dropped ASW. I can count on one hand, the number of times I actually managed to sink one. It's pathetic. I quit playing in March. @@ShaneMcGrath.
It’s kind of true, but I fear that’s just keeping up false hopes. I don’t think there’s any studio out there willing to pick up and fix this game due to the sheer mess and colossal efforts it would entail. You’ve gotta remember, this game uses a 2001 engine- just changing that would be extremely complicated, but then there’s also 7 years of spaghetti coding that must be an absolute nightmare to deal with,… all of that in addition to balance problems, required reworks,….
What kind of developer would take over this steaming piece of garbage that WoWs has been made into??? You can't just FIX it. It would need a total redo of the whole game to make it good again. That ain't never happening. Plus the remaining people that play religiously make weegee more money than 5x more of sort of F2P players.
@@lalxlyeah that’s exactly my point. Fixing wows is pretty much impossible, only a total remake could fix things, but there pretty much isn’t any incentive to do that because as you say, i’ve never seen bigger whales than on ones. Like i genuinely don’t think i’ve every seen anyone put 1000+ $ on other games, yet on wows that seems like a pretty average amount for players who buy ships
@@jijoux9161 CS:GO players spending thousands to gamble for knives lol. Mobile gacha players also blow wows whales out of the water but it feels kind of unfair to include those games.
I left the game last June, but i still check your vids to see if an update will make me come back. Unfortunately it gets worse and worse with each update so...
Even more than whos not playing any more, is whos not paying. I own almost every ship released 2021 and earlier. Id drop egregious sums on christmas containers, and i was happy to keep doing so indefinitely because it was fun. With subs and ridiculous cvs like Nak and the supers coming out ... I might still login a few times a month to yolo some German BBs in ranked but will not be dropping a cent ever again.
ive never dropped an "egregious" amount of money on the game, maybe a few dollars here and there, and the last time i spent a lot of money on a ship was for alaska before it was removed. Now i dont even feel like spending any money on the game anymore
Without any real alternatives, WG will have a monopoly on this type of game, specifically focused on warships. Yes the decline in player quantity and quality is noticable but to be fair, it's still not bad for a game that is almost 10 years old. Could it be better? Yes. - Could it be worse? Definitely.
I stopped playing this year and hell, I've got plenty more time for other games.... and even if a competition would be nice, I don't mind it too much... there is more entertainment than one could consume in a lifetime already
WG clearly shows no interest on keeping old players but rather get some new players and expect them to spend some quick bucks before getting bored. New players fall for wg scam tricks, don't know how good/bad the ships they sell are, don't hoard resources (thus more likely to pay for them) and they don't complain. The perfect customer. And for old players, we have the FOMO kitakami event for the dumbest ones to try to dry their balls for a ship 6 times the price on resources!
Not sure they're getting many new players in, at least not any that stays long enough to become "addicts". I still enjoy ships but I pretty much never play randoms these days. Not sure the younger generations can be arsed with the slow evolving game play. Shame really as there some really good stuff in this game as well.
If Wargaming would actually listen to their more PvE minded players and make new operations, or release a coop game mode with actually more intelligent bots, like in asymmetrical battles, the player number would probably go way up. There’s so many players, myself included, that just don’t want to deal with the toxicity that comes with PvP.
The AI creator's passion for WoWS is the conscience of WG. It's a shame that his hard work and spirit can't reach the PvP battles and management. But PvP is still fun. A lot of things make me angry, but it's fun.
I am/was by no means an amazing player (56%) but I very much enjoyed the game and played for several years regularly. Post carrier rework/submarines, my joy in the game (and the amount I'd spend on premium etc) stopped. I haven't played for over a year. For me, I feel like if AA were significantly better there'd be atleast some hope, but when a ship like an atlanta or mino can't effectively defend themselves..... when you are sitting ontop of a sub and cant see it despite hydro running...there are issues, there are no realistic counters.
@@ShaneMcGrath. honestly, I mostly quit before they came out, but I remember CVs being more annoying. Subs at least leave you alone if they're on the other side of the map. But I didn't play against subs much, so maybe that would change with exposure. Not that I'll ever find out.
it won't ever happen, that would require their braindead devs to admit they are clueless, they would rather run the game into the ground, and that's exactly what is happening.
I drew the line at scummy monetization. Plenty of devs don’t listen to their playerbase, that’s one thing. Turning every form of progression into a random bundle, that’s a different thing.
the graph needs to measure number of battles and time in battle. there are a lot of people who just sit idle in port who don't count. it's me, I'm those people who sit idle in port. I forget to shut off my computer before going to work
I left the game but kept interacting in the forums. Then they close those. I do not use discord, I do not understand it, it's not the same as the forums. The one way the had to get me back into the game they killed it. Everything they do is to annoy players.
I think among the core issues besides subs are Superships are really divisive, WG seems to be generally reducing their power for the most part (see Clausewitz va Conde for example) and at a certain point they are just a goalpost that has been moved for the purpose of reaming player resources. The fatigue with carriers remaining relatively unchanged and ridiculous will be wearing people out too, a dumbass dev blog every 8-12 months with proposed changes is getting to be a meme at this point. And yeah, the elephant in the room is the submarine debacle. That being said on WGs part they have pushed back the Soviet submarines (why this wasn’t announced anywhere besides a random Discord comment is kind of bizarre) and have not announced any more in the same time that Lesta has added the Soviet subs and announced 2 more premiums (including a hybrid). I’m not sure if that’s reason to celebrate but it’s at least noteworthy. My personal concern is the amount of job postings (especially Art) that WG still has open and what that means for the future.
while they are reducing the power, at hte same time it means ships like Clausewitz are perceived to be... rather boring and even "weak" compared to the more gimmicky stuff. "So, my super ship costs as much as that one... but is just worse and more boring?"
its almost like terrible game decisions, a total disregard of the player base, lies and crazy greed would make people eventually drop the game. who would have thought
Haven`t touched the game in 2 years, it`s so much better for my mental health. Does anyone remember how fkng good this game was in 2016/17? Hard to believe how hard WG fumbled. I guess arrogance is not a very good trait for a dev. I hope flamu will pick up another game in the future that I can enjoy.
Its not only the number of players. I can remember the time when there where over 40k Players on the servers in EU. You could find games without bots at nearly any tier. You could be on at 3 AM and find a game of most tiers in 10 seconds. Now, not only can you struggle to find a game if your not on at the Main Time, most Players concentrate around the higher Tiers. That means with certain Tiers, the chance you are constantly bottom tier is extremely high. WoWs is in Maintenance/Milking mode. they dont make any effort to change the game in any meaningfull way.
Easiest way to fix this game: -Remove sub from normal match, or give player option to choose matchmaking to be "with" Or "without" Sub matchmaking - make CV plane be limited again like 2014-2016 - make supership only playable on some specific mode, so they stop gangbanging tier 9 ship
They gangbang tier 10s too because a lot of them are way stronger than a theoretical tier '11'. They're awful for the game. Poor and lazy designs across the board. Horrible balance.
I think there are two major things that could happen in the future. Since WoWs is monopolized in the naval multiplayer genre of games, it will be difficult for a competitor to just come up and take over WoWs, which means there's a high chance that a studio interested in this genre might buy their studio, so when WG reaches a point where they make a lot of deficit, their only option, or at least the only option for the CEO is to sell the business to another studio, in this case we can only hope the studio is one that listens to their playerbase. The other option I see for WG is realizing their mistake and the fact that sustainability might profit more than short-term profit which will make them do major reforms on the balances within the game. Note that these two predictions are only for a good future for WoWs, WG can also of course do a short-term investment in advertisements, but again, it is pointless if at the end players will start going away. For long-term success, it's either giving someone else leadership, or listen to the playerbase, I see no other way for WG to keep growing within World of Warships. I wish all of you good luck sailors for the future of this game, must you still be interested and in hope...
I wish I could share your optimism but watching what WG has been doing for the last 6 years I don't have any illusions: this game is beyond saving and on the course to a soon death. WG knows this very well. It is now only a matter of milking the players as much as possible for the remaining 2, maybe 3 years. Look at their plans concerning Kitakami...
So if you average the losses, how many years does the game have left? NA is already small, how many more losses can they take? I'm also curious about who TF are the people still buying premium ships? Are they so dense they cannot see the player drop off?
You also have to keep in mind that they don't have to hit zero for the game in that calculation to be dead. At a certain point, the number of players will not be large enough to find games quickly enough for people to stay. Once that happens, it will fall off a cliff. Some hard-core players will play as long as it is possible, but at that point, most will move on. Ps, could be mitigated by bots, but how many people would tolerate a growing number of bot matches in randoms.
I was one of those players that quit after pathetic Submarines got introduced. I was a Closed Alpha Test Player. I quit sometime in March this year. Nothing I have seen since looks good enough to tempt me back. One of my 2 WoWS accounts still has 148 days of Premium Time left, but I don't give a toss. Wargaming can go screw themselves.
No way, people are leaving, I thought predatory Monetization, shot gunning subs that can't be detected by things specifically designed to detect them, terrible matchmaking and no balancing whatsoever was what everyone wanted, shows how much I know, but says a lot more about Wargaming. I mean, nobody will be shocked the numbers are dropping, the AA being near useless on most ships with a matchmaking that usual has a CV in every match, Submarines being the most broken shit I have ever seen in the past 30 years simply drove away most of them, the monetization reaching peak heights done the rest. And WarGaming has none else but themselves to blame for it, they are completely tone-deaf, they don't even play their own game or even care for it, they actively hate everything and everyone.
Cbt player here with 50k games under my belt. Last i played constantly was before they launched battle pass. Tried it once, seemed more like a job than a game. Stopped for a while. Came back for anniversary to collect mad SC and found out they were nerfed. Opened about 150 (already had some SC colleted ) 0 ships, 1k doubloon, 30 days prem. WG tried hard to get me back (free t9 and t5 premium ship crates) but sadly it will be docked longer.
I got an ARP Yamato out of one of my 15 super containers I also haven't spent a dime in over a year I think the game is trying to A: get me to spend money, B: play more.
You know, if you project forward, you can estimate how long until each game server reaches a critical player population. I can't be bothered doing it myself, but someone probably already has. Of course, that person doesn't work for Wargaming, as WG clearly have no idea what's happening.
I just came back a few months ago after taking a couple years off and Im already thinking of leaving again because of the state of CVs and subs. They just seem to suck all the fun out of the game.
So... This might be something to test... I was having a frustrating session, and got shotgunned by a gato in a cruiser with my hydro up, in the first 5 minutes of a match. I was so pissed I gave every negative one I had to that gato player and stopped playing for 24 hours. I then came back in and had 8 matches in a row, amazing match making. Two days later wanted to try it again, put myself in position to get shot gunned by a sub, gave him all my -1 then quit for 24 hours. Had another night of amazing MM. Yeah its only two instances, but still...
If there only could be a rally for a "demonstration" against WG. For exemple, every single one that thinks and feel that Subs have nothing to do in this game or dont want them in it refuses to play the game one month. For exemple december that is a moneycow month for WG. Maybe that will open their eyes and make then "listen". I dont know, but im struggling. I like the game but this late year craziness with so many moneyfishing "events" and the subs.. oh the subs... The biggest strike against dedicated players and newcomers.. Would also be nice if wows youtubers would all or most agree to push for one months ban on a certain date.. yes u make money on the game but in the long run its for your own channels sake also.
what does heroes 3 have to do with word of warships 12:50 ? PS : well that's a shame the one thing in this game i would have loved to be a part of and joined for .
bet there's a kitakami spike as the commander of my clan who hadn't played for over 1000 days is back & used all the oil earned in that time to boost clan research points.
Stopped playing wows around march this year, not gonna lie I've been a much happier and less toxic person ever since. This game is like an abusive relationship, it takes your money, spits in your face and expects you to change for it. I am having a much better time olaying different games i enjoy, instead of log in every day grind the same missions and techtree over and over, getting abused by CVs and subs and raging at the bullshitary
Less than a month of prem time and I am done with playing on a regular basis. Most of my old clan in World of Tnanks has quit it and they were 10+ year players.
Say that it takes players an average of 20 seconds to find a match. That's 24 players matched every 20 seconds. If an average match is 15 minutes, there might be (15*60/20)=45 matches running concurrently in random battles. 45battles*24players=1,080 players are driving boats in randoms at any one time. Now it's up to you to decide if you think 8,000 players in menus/co-op/ranked is too big of a number, but given all the crap they make you do in port now, it wouldn't surprise me
It depends what game mode are those 9k players playing. Not everyone plays randoms, many play ranked, others go for brawls and there's a big chunk of coop only players. So from those 9k there's about 1.5-2k that are playing randoms, and from that less than 300 people on your tier section. From those 300 there's about 90% already in battle so you're left with less than 30 players to queue in. And it's 20 sec wait time cause there might be too many guys that want to play BB or DD so it's waiting for others to queue with cruisers. That's why if the online players count drops below 5k the MM struggles and gives you smaller teams (8v8 or 9v9).
@@SebaX92 i at times just sit in the habour, struggling with myself "I kinda want to play a round... but I know exactly what a crap show that'd be... But I'm kiiinda in the mood..."
I love this game so much that I don’t feel angry any more. Today I logged on, stared at my ship collection and I decided to log off. I genuinely fell bad for this game, and how it is being ran into the ground.
Unrelated sorta, but for Legends. I was an alpha tester. I quit after release when it became clear they didn't care about feedback. (Funnily enough they later introduced stuff all their testers told them during the alpha, but years later.) Checked in a year later around when they introduced carriers AND paying to play prerelease ship lines (Legends started it. You're welcome). Lasted one month before I got fed up. Last week I re-installed because it was the introduction of the Hololive collab. The four commanders could be earned for free by logging in and doing a few easy missions a day. Before I logged in I had time to think. I uninstalled it. I am a massive Holoweeb, but I just couldn't be bothered. WG have done too much damage. Legends doesn't even have subs yet. I don't know anyone who still plays it.
I'd be curious if there was a way to tell how many players are "paying" to play versus those who are just playing for free. I can't speak for other whales but I went from spending a couple hundred bucks per month after launch- depending on what was on offer- to basically just paying monthly premium after the carrier rework down to 0 after submarines. I go back in game for a few sessions every 3-6 months or so now since I'm still a huge fan of the 3D models... Not so much a fan of the game anymore. The churn model doesn't care though... the complainers move on and the naive move in.
But what money are they making with subs ? They only sell few of them, and people generally don't play premium subs too much. And one sub is like 2 months of premium ?
I quit playing a while back, came back, got caught up in the whole Lushun dockyard thing, then suddenly realised I was still not having any fun. Playing a sub could be considered fun because you're basically driving around a big "I win" button but it's boring AF. So I quit again, don't think I will be back again because it seems that WG isn't paying any attention whatsoever and is insisting on making more and more bad decisions. War Thunder, on the other hand, might get subs in the game (since they just ran an event with them) and those are implemented so much better it's actually a fun and challenging experience.
I stopped when I realised that as a medium player, after T7 - T8 you needed GOOD to excellent games to break even Worse, if I wanted fully kitted out ships, I simply couldn't since I lacked the skill to be good to excellent game after game. And game were I did good payout was so small in comparaison to the costs that it simply wasn't feasable ( "forever" grind). The only T8 I could afford was the Bismarck since it came free in a event ! After a while turning on the same T6 to T8 ships and slowly but surely loosing all my credits I just stopped.
Shit i use to play both WoT and WoWs but ever since they added pay to win in WoT cant get best equipment with out battle pass and submarines into WoWs they can go F them selves and i use to buy premium ships and tanks all the time and paid for premium accounts but it comes to a point when the tanks and ship are in loot boxes and u need to pay for a premium account and battle passes to be competitive its basically a mobile gotcha pay to win game now
Yeah WoT has certainly gone that way (ptw) beyond saving. Wows not quite there yet but they're digging their own grave without having the massive numbers of players that WoT still has.
In fairness, while it seems likely, you can't really prove subs have made people leave unless you survey a large sample of players who have stopped playing. WG (or the guy in charge of adding subs) could say that even more people might have stopped playing without subs being added.
keep in mind people, it doesn't matter if the player numbers drop by 20% or 50%, as long as players buy doubloons, WG is making money, that means more free-to-play resource biddings (steel, research points, coal, credits, free exp, you name the resource) and more lootbox exlusive ships or new doubloon-only ships. it doesn't matter that you have a billion battles on your account, if you don't use you wallet, WG doesn't care about you. If a new player buys himself a doubloon ship, that actually makes WG money.
It's kinda sad. I used to play this game religiously, and as a unicum. I can't bring myself to even turn on my pc anymore. Situation might have been different if I really felt like I was rewarded for my loyalty to the game, but it's clear to me they don't give a toss
I'll be honest, I'm not surprised. Being the depraved moron I am, I started to play World of Warships around 2018, while at the same time I was getting sick of World of Tanks (I was a 10 year vet when I quit in 2021 with a 2600 1000 battle WN8). It's honestly baffling that they're doing THE SAME SHIT that killed my own and my entire clan's interest in playing Tanks ever again (neglecting tech tree vehicles, constantly releasing premium vehicles, destroying unique tanks for cookie cutter game design choices, etc). The amount of bad decisions Wargaming makes is comical at this point.
With all the trash WG has implemented the past 3 or so years the future trajectory was known to all of us who actually play(ed) the game, obviously the people supposedly developing this game are not within that group. Those changes such as subs are withering the core gameplay of ship-to-ship artillery battles. Only way to redeem the game is to delete subs and greatly reduce the CV influence on battles. Looking at the way the game continues to progress, or rather regress, I'm glad I stopped playing as the subs were forcibly rolled out.
The economy of this game is so F I don't even want to play it anymore. After a long time not log into Wows, I decided to play 2 Breast game. One while among the top 3 players, I earned 10k credits, another not so good match, I got -30~-40k credits, just by playing the game? So I got punished, lost my hard earned credit because I'm a F2p player without Premium, and Weegee is only allow me to get +20% credit, which can't even cover the ship repair cost.
I play on the Asia server from 2014. The reason for the numbers decline? for me...Subs>nah, superships>meh, money grabbing>perhaps, shitty matchmaking at T8>YES!...Easily THE most annoying!
Are we just going to forget that other video you did that showed 60%+ of players don't play anymore and that 92% of profiles have essentially been inactive for months?
I mean, I don’t care about what you guys said all the time but I posted in the Reddit just a calm not even a post about the games already dead that the numbers gonna keep declining because the changes and the latest additions does not make any sense anymore and they don’t rhyme ( subs. Specially, a sub that do 40 kn underwater.) they had all kind of replies to my comment from concerned citizens of wargaming.
I've been noticing WG has been only offering certain bundles and stuff for cash only, no dubs. Seems things are getting desperate for them lol, got to get around the birthday dub coupons.
I kind of know why ru server population has increased, cus they get old ships buffed and more interesting stuff back on, easy beginner bonus, cheaper to by stuff, so it’s much easier to grind and to enjoy the game even if throwing away some progress on the WG server.
And another problem is that if somehow your country setting is “China mainland”, you will not be able to see the HSF collaboration in armory, they “fixed” it today but, hard not to say it’s intended.
every time i remember i used to enjoy world of warships... i remember the devs also made world of warplanes and i had low hopes to begin with for our loved boat game
Like I cannot understand why they did CV rework in the first place... original rts-style CV gameplay was fine; CV play was fun for people who were into that, AA did something, and dodging stuff was more meaningul. Sure you could get cross dropped by a really good player and taken out, but chance of playing against them was fairly low on average. Also, there was balance on the other side, battleships could take out each other, big guys did AP, cruisers did HE, DD's did their thing, and all was good. Then WG started with gimmicks, HE spammers with magic heals like conqueror, HE smoked up spammers like smolensk with paper thin armor that a BB cannot citadel it, etc. etc. etc.
When so many other game comes out after covid and the game experience is getting more and more frustrating. I don't even recommend any of my friends to this game.
Feels like int in a death spiral . I would say in biggest part they have moved on . Have to think on creative assemby somewhat with their total war series . Think most of its earning goes away for something new in the background while a small team on budget is just bussy keeping it on minimal live support with some extra crap every now and then . Doubt that the ports been so expensive , i guess wg is making quite some sum there . So i wonder what wg is up to
but what it means too hold the still playing players with cool events or free stuff no we must milk the wales and never see that we are shrinking wg i dont get it you got cvs and cruser permium in tier 8 and ten for just playing now days you can get 6 or 7 for grinding every day
I kinda hate making these vids, but you can't just shut your eyes to reality. WG are making some awful decisions.

The ping location is also ridiculous, Some of them move so fast you drop where you think they are going and it's not even close.
Forget subs. A lot of the people I used to play with quit after the CV rework.
I play a LOT less since subs. When hybrid subs come to NA, I'm uninstalling for sure.
Honestly, the best hope is to pass the game onto a different studio and pray to whoever's listening that they can salvage the mess.
@@jijoux9161I think we'd need a "world of warships II" to fix all the problems
What kind of developer would take over this steaming piece of garbage that WoWs has been made into??? You can't just FIX it. It would need a total redo of the whole game to make it good again. That ain't never happening. Plus the remaining people that play religiously make weegee more money than 5x more of sort of F2P players.
@@lalxlyeah that’s exactly my point. It’s getting bad. Most of the good players have been quitting.

Definitely.
Their WERE alturnatives, but they all died.
A point that you don't hear often in the PvP focused community that much, but is still very true
Turn off battle chat in Randoms and there you go, a lot of bots or players of equivalent value...
@@viktorsagi9361 Yeah, but bots spend more time with their guns facing the enemy and not their ass like 80% of the player base
They ought to see what happens to the numbers if they banned CVs and subs for a quarter.
Even just a "surface engagements" game mode would be wildly popular

Subs at least leave you alone if they're on the other side of the map.
But I didn't play against subs much, so maybe that would change with exposure. Not that I'll ever find out.
it won't ever happen, that would require their braindead devs to admit they are clueless, they would rather run the game into the ground, and that's exactly what is happening.
I drew the line at scummy monetization. Plenty of devs don’t listen to their playerbase, that’s one thing. Turning every form of progression into a random bundle, that’s a different thing.
When T10 ranked is 5v5 you know, that this Server has a problem
the graph needs to measure number of battles and time in battle. there are a lot of people who just sit idle in port who don't count.
it's me, I'm those people who sit idle in port. I forget to shut off my computer before going to work
I left the game but kept interacting in the forums. Then they close those. I do not use discord, I do not understand it, it's not the same as the forums. The one way the had to get me back into the game they killed it. Everything they do is to annoy players.
wow ... i've been gone 2 full years.
Cus they expect people to only look at discord i guess? Like they have a freaking youtube channel ANNOUNCE SHIT LIKE THAT!
while they are reducing the power, at hte same time it means ships like Clausewitz are perceived to be... rather boring and even "weak" compared to the more gimmicky stuff. "So, my super ship costs as much as that one... but is just worse and more boring?"
its almost like terrible game decisions, a total disregard of the player base, lies and crazy greed would make people eventually drop the game.

Haven`t touched the game in 2 years, it`s so much better for my mental health.
Does anyone remember how fkng good this game was in 2016/17? Hard to believe how hard WG fumbled.

I hope flamu will pick up another game in the future that I can enjoy.
Beta until the CV rework was good times.
Oh man, that period of WoWs was great @@ColdProphecy
Its not only the number of players. I can remember the time when there where over 40k Players on the servers in EU. You could find games without bots at nearly any tier. You could be on at 3 AM and find a game of most tiers in 10 seconds.
Now, not only can you struggle to find a game if your not on at the Main Time, most Players concentrate around the higher Tiers. That means with certain Tiers, the chance you are constantly bottom tier is extremely high.
WoWs is in Maintenance/Milking mode. they dont make any effort to change the game in any meaningfull way.
Easiest way to fix this game:
-Remove sub from normal match, or give player option to choose matchmaking to be "with" Or "without" Sub matchmaking
- make CV plane be limited again like 2014-2016
- make supership only playable on some specific mode, so they stop gangbanging tier 9 ship
They gangbang tier 10s too because a lot of them are way stronger than a theoretical tier '11'. They're awful for the game. Poor and lazy designs across the board. Horrible balance.
make DDs detectable by sub to 0.5km
And add more operations, or smarter bots in coop mode
Buying intellectual property - maybe, no one would buy and continue supporting a game on this potato engine
In what point RU server started to give ships with coal instead of dubs? Where rest pumps dubs out of players, ru give it "free"
NA will be semi dead in 3-4 years, EU in 5. Unless WG will make something more crazy that will drop not by 12% but by 20% each year.

They need to merge the regions together. There is not enough in any region to stay separate. This separation has always been awful.
The biggest problem in the server is submarine. You cannot counter it especially ahip such as gato. Best you can do is trading life
If there only could be a rally for a "demonstration" against WG. For exemple, every single one that thinks and feel that Subs have nothing to do in this game or dont want them in it refuses to play the game one month. For exemple december that is a moneycow month for WG. Maybe that will open their eyes and make then "listen". I dont know, but im struggling. Just came back a month ago since almost 4 years and I'm having a great time. With all the new ships this game has gotten much better imo. Cheers.
Same. I quit in 2022 when Subs were OP, but I just started playing again. New ships are fun and I'm having fun. Thankfully Subs got a huge nerf.

I also wonder how much of the player numbers are people just logging in to the game just for their free daily rewards and then getting off.
A lot. And many switched to play coop only, not that they play it that much, only 2-3 coops, take the first daily crate and log off.
Are the spikes in count during a CB season? On a CB night? Weekends? Public Holidays?

Crazy to see people still playing this. Stopped playing with the command update and it seems there is still a controversy every month
So the "silent majority" said nothing and fucked off to play a game that's actually fun.
I think alot of players like the surface ship strategy part of the game without a bunch of goofy crap.
Is player count directly correlated to WG profits though? If they are sucking more cash out of a smaller and smaller player base, does WG care?
Less than a month of prem time and I am done with playing on a regular basis. Most of my old clan in World of Tnanks has quit it and they were 10+ year players.
I thought the Spreadsheet was holy.
I never believed in game player count was accurate. the fact that it takes 20 secs to find a match with 9k people online is crazy.
Player count shows people logged in. Doesn't show how many are in the queue and at what tiers... well, used to in days of old.

I left game and gave it a try again around a year ago.
Second time I just deleted account to avoid being tempted again just to log in.
(Funnily enough they later introduced stuff all their testers told them during the alpha, but years later.)
Checked in a year later around when they introduced carriers AND paying to play prerelease ship lines (Legends started it.
Didn't EU use to have like 30k active players?
I would really like to see the numbers of games played and not players.
Quite sure it would look slightly worse.
I don't play the game (EU) that much anymore and the last thing I did was sell off 20 of my ships. I haven't heard anything from my team in months.
I haven't played the game in 5 years, but I'd love to go back and play the game I fell in love with 7 years ago.
I stopped playing after the CV rework. Looked into World of Warships early this year but found out there are now subs too and stopped playing again.
The game justbsucks now plus my frames tanked. Cant find solution
I'm on the Asia server and have thought there are more bots playing now than before based on the standard of play.
I bet WG will soon come up with an a la Disney excuse that "the toxic playerbase is guilty."
I play for the most part Operations or with the fleet but no single randoms
I stopped when I realised that as a medium player, after T7 - T8 you needed GOOD to excellent games to break even
Worse, if I wanted fully kitted out ships, I simply couldn't since I lacked the skill to be good to excellent game after game.
I make plus and never paid for it and even have the Shima...I mostly play 10 ships, mostly DDs from Tier 6 to 10.
Joined in 2016. Played then stopped for year. Only play now a few times a week as i have over 1,000 days of premium I got from santa boxes to use up.
Pure comedy , when im stoned best time to watch flamu rage on weegee , my 200 premiums rotting in port and im not coming back , ever
Before subs, I play 60+ games per month.
Subs came in random game, I play 6 games per month.
I can´t even be bothered to open the game to collect the daily drops
I think they should allow advertising on the side of ships and in port and on the blimps. Ok maybe not the ships.
I'm part of that -12% NA drop and better for it :D
Been getting a lot of 6v6 in T10 Randos lately.

We can simplify this in two words. Submarines, Superships.
Then WG started with gimmicks, HE spammers with magic heals like conqueror, HE smoked up spammers like smolensk with paper thin armor that a BB cannot citadel it, etc. etc. etc.
I dont think airship escort in random battles is helping either
When so many other game comes out after covid and the game experience is getting more and more frustrating. I don't even recommend any of my friends to this game.
Feels like int in a death spiral .
I would say in biggest part they have moved on .
Have to think on creative assemby somewhat with their total war series .
Think most of its earning goes away for something new in the background while a small team on budget is just bussy keeping it on minimal live support with some extra crap every now and then .
Doubt that the ports been so expensive , i guess wg is making quite some sum there .
So i wonder what wg is up to
but what it means too hold the still playing players with cool events or free stuff no we must milk the wales and never see that we are shrinking wg
i dont get it you got cvs and cruser permium in tier 8 and ten for just playing now days you can get 6 or 7 for grinding every day
