I listened to this song on repeat as a kid. I grew up and became an ER nurse and I come to find out that the lead singer also became a nurse! Made my year!

I was 17 when I first saw FiF. I'm 43 now and still listen to this band on the regular.
Sounds about right for me, too. FIF is such a great mix of silly and serious, and great musicians and people, from what I can gather.

In the 1990s, for a brief time, Christian Rock didn't suck. Thank you FIF, Supertones, Newsboys, DC Talk, Audio Adrenaline, MxPx, PFR, and the best of them all, The Prayer Chain, for the music and memories.

I don’t think anyone had as much fun making a music video as these guys did!! I swear this level of chaos and silliness lives rent free in my head all the time. I miss third wave ska and it’s amazing vibe!
on the outside, ska music is fun and happy. But if you read the lyrics it hits you hard. Still one of my favorite genres

🥳 😁👍 Woohoo! I love me some FIF!!! So silly and fun, and yet sometimes so deep and serious. I think the horns always sound so happy in this musical genre, even when the lyrics are bleak and grim.

They’re the second best ska band of the 90s and 2000s IMO, after Less Than Jake.

🙂 Genuinely curious?: Is Doxology actually a band and band name I haven’t heard of? 😲Or do you just mean a/the traditional church-type-service-part doxology? I’m thinking the latter? Some of the main lyrics do sound somewhat familiar, for sure, as someone who’s run in some churchy circles, albeit less old-school.

Got on a big ska & punk kick in late 90s in middle school. FIF was def a big part of it :) Went to one of their shows in a little city in Indiana. Brings back lots of memories.

I remember seeing them in 1998 in Philadelphia at The Electric Factory. They played with Insyderz and the OC Supertones. Ska Mania tour, I think. Five Iron came out dressed in Star Trek uniforms. The bass player was dressed as a klingon complete with rubber mask 😅
Saw them again in 1999 at The Purple Door Christian music festival. Loved that I got to see them twice in their heyday.
Love the band, they will always have a special place in my heart.

The band is called Five Iron Frenzy
The band reunited at the end of 2011. There should be a new album coming soon, no specific release date as of yet.
If it does or doesn't come out, they still did their job

I'm a freaking athiest and I rock out to this and "wizards" all the time! It's just that enjoyable!
There a lot of bands with Christian messages in their songs that do not suck. You just wont find them on regular radio. If you get a chance, check out RadioU.com
There are other Christian bands that are good as well too! POD, Skillet, Project 86, Flatfoot 56, Demon Hunter, MxPx, OC Supertones, Ghoti Hook, Snax, 12 Stones, Thousand Foot Krutch, Slick Shoes, hopesfall, Blindside, an older band that was good, now defunct, is Pax 217! also Pillar, Kutless, and don’t forget Tobymac! Oh and Squad Five Oh! Squad Five Oh, MxPx, Snax, Ghoti Hook and Slick Shoes are all punk

I hate god, golf and Christians but I love these guys. They are one of best ska bands of all time. It’s a shame they were hypnotized by a ludicrous fairytale. I think they could of been huge.
