Every New Day
When I was young, the smallest trick of light,
Could catch my eye,
Then life was new and every new day
I thought that I could fly.
I believed in what I hoped for,
And I hoped for things unseen.
I had wings and dreams could soar,
I just don't feel like flying anymore.
When the stars threw down their spears,
Watered Heaven with their tears,
Before words were spoken,
Before eternity.
Dear Father, I need you,
Your strength my heart to mend.
I want to fly higher,
Every new day again.
When I was small, the furthest I could reach,
Was not so high,
Then I thought the world was so much smaller,
Feeling that I could fly.
Through distant deeps and skies,
Behind infinity,
Below the face of Heaven,
He stoops to create me.
Dear Father, I need you,
Your strength my heart to mend.
I want to fly higher,
Every new day again.
Man versus himself.
Man versus machine.
Man versus the world.
Mankind versus me.
The struggles go on,
The wisdom I lack,
The burdens keep pilling
Up on my back.
So hard to breathe,
To take the next step.
The mountain is high,
I wait in the depths.
Yearning for grace,
And hoping for peace.
Dear God...
Increase!
Healing hands of God have mercy on our unclean souls once again.
Jesus Christ, light of the world burning bright within our hearts forever.
Freedom means love without condition, without a beginning or an end.
Here's my heart, let it be forever Your's,
Only You can make every new day seem so new.
Music: Scott Kerr, Dennis Culp
Words: Reese Roper
Still one of the Best worship songs ever
As a now non believer, it’s still a great worship song.
I mean it's just a good song period.
Like it references William Blake, respect
I concur
To this day I still get chills when Reese screams, "dear God increase".
Not a christian but this song has given me goosebumps since the first time i heard it.
Those goosebumps are the holy Spirit.
Still hits in 2021 tho. 💯
Hits in 2023 better tho…
Even better in 2024
A timeless quality, truly, I concur, from February 2024, and countin’!
DEAR GOD INCREASE!Am I only one who ALWAYS screams with them?
Grace Branch no you aren't!
I've sung myself horse make times screaming that part
Can't... Start crying every time. 😂
2024, worship here!
Man vs himself
Man vs machine
Man vs the world
Mankind vs me
Gets me every time😢
33 and seeing them for the first time in a in Nashville in a month.Grew up on this and just turned my life back to Christ. I just hope I don’t lose my crap when they play this song. Lol
When Reese did this song in Atlanta he started crying at the end and could hardly finish. It was epic... My first time seeing them in concert and it was amazing. The emotions in the room were crazy!!!
I don't even believe in God, and they've got me singing along here. This is a passionate performance.
+Billy Russom Almost made me a christian.
No, but in all seriousness, this is my favorite "christian" song for SURE.
+Billy Russom It's a band that's been Christian itself, but they've never excluded anybody else. I love that every faith or lack thereof is welcome at a FIF show
Yea theyre a really good middle of the road christian band. A lot of their stuff isnt even christian based. Good band. Look up "world without end"
Jesus WILL always believe in you no matter what man!!!!!!!!!!! HE WILL love you until the moment you die even if you did never chose him...........Peace to you always dogg
The fact you does not belive in God does not let God disappear... ;) God believes in you, trust me mate...
love love Jesus. love love FIF ✝💜
Amen sister! 🤟
@@weksheddweller Jesus is wonderful, and Five Iron is off grid music, so good to listen to. Blessings dear one 🙋♥️✝️
One of the best songs ever
Johnnie Bee I get chills listening to it
Man vs himself
Man vs machine
Man vs the world
Mankind vs me
The show must go on
The wisdom I lack
The burdens keep piling
Up on my back
So hard to breath
To take the next step
The mountain is high
I wait the depths
YEARNING FOR GRACE
DEAR
GOD
INCREASE
1:03-1:25.. no vocals in his earpiece. Still nailed it..
That last Hallelujah always gets me. Some utterly fantastic stuff right here.
In 2004 I gave my life to Christ and discovered soon Five Iron. After buying all of their albums, I was saddened to learn they already split. Then last year they came back. My friend and I drove from Toronto to Denver to see the Kickstarter Show. Nothing in my entire life will top that. EVER. The show was so powerful and God was moving in a special way. I love this band!
Out of all of the videos on RUclips of this song, this one is the best, hands down.
Dork King still my favorite after 20 yrs
They played this in LA a few months ago and it may have been one of the most powerful worship experiences of my life. A whole room of people losing all abandon on the last chorus, it was something i'll never forget
The emotion at the end is intense.
The thing about Five Iron is... I stopped believing years ago, but this still brings me to tears
Above all else, it's the earnest passion and honesty the band was feeling in that performance that shines through.
Same
This song always has a way of reminding me of what's important.
Every time I hear this song from the album recording... EVERY time.. I almost cry. I've never even seen this band live or met any of the members, but I grew up with them, and learned music by listening to them. I hope now that they are back together I can finally see them.
I honestly don't know how kids today are making it in this crazy world without FIF...
Somewhere in this crowd, i'm 18 and having one of the best/worst days ever.
😲 Wow! That’s amazing. I never saw ‘em live myself. Well, I hope now 3 years later, you’re having the best/getting even better day/s. 🙂👍
I had the honor of seeing them 13 times, and being on-stage with them once. God bless them. One of my all time favorite bands.
Oh heaven yes!
I still cry when I listen to this sometimes.
2020 and I'm 34 this coming Feb 26....first heared them 2004 on JCTV (Jesus Christ TV) and and then CD's and now their songs still on my car USB....this video brings back memories of my younger days... thanks!!!!!
@FogoSturm Not a christian and FIF is one of my favorite bands. Every New Day makes me tear up every time.
I am not Christian, but this is one of my all time favorite bands. They and the singer have an unbelievable sense of melody. Awesome voice, too. wow
To this day, still my favorite song of all time
Been listening to this album in 2023..!iv love this band for years is love to see them again.
for Reese to sing like this, being sick - sipping tea between songs... is amazing. Blessed.
This is the best worship song ever. I cry whenever I hear it. I am blessed to have grown up with them in my lifetime. They are missed, but they left me with a gift that's so much more important than their music. Thank you FIF, thank you for being the distraction I needed to avoid the adversary's attacks.
The "thank you" chant at the end always makes me tear up. What a lovely band. Keep going FIF.
This isn´t rock, this is gospel
FIF coming back to life is a dream come true. And this song will always be my all time favorite.
one of the best bands of all time playing one of their best songs in their BEST version ever
I discovered FIF somewhere between 1997 and 1999. A Flowery Song was the first song that I heard by them, and from that moment on I was hooked. I came back from C.I.Y and went and bought Upbeats and Beat Downs. This song, however, is the one I come back to again and again. It's my hymn when I just need to praise God.
I was at every CIY from 98-2003 lol San Louis obispo and BIOLA
🙂 Sounds a lot like me, too. All of that you said. I think a Flowery Song was my first, or one of ‘em, for sure. Oh Canada stuck with me from the start, too. Lol I remember the silly animal sounds and the happy horns in A Flowery Song. Never saw them live, though. But, yeah. Wow.
No matter how many times I see this video, I tear up at the end when they do.
FIF IS BACK!!! AND THE NEW SONG IS AMAZING!!! i HAVE to see them live, no matter what.
chills...every time.
Back in 9th grade my buddy burned me a CD of WoW PvP and one of the videos had this as a background song. It has stuck with me for 13 years now. Not even religious but this performance really is fantastic.
Best song ever from them. Plus the best performance of the song ever from them. I get goose bumps every time I listen to this song.
Totally agree... makes me cry... such a great band... and also a great great song... one of my favorites of FIF...
Still gives me chills
Chills, every time, without fail.
man the tears just roll down my face right after the bridge...I hope I get to see them, since I didn't back in the 90s.
Reese absolutely killed it at the end of this performance and those notes have to be tough to hit at the end of a set like that!
"So sad if that's the way it's over"... True fans will understand ;)
Sweet talkin’ woman. Originally by Electric Light Orchestra.
I was at this show. It was incredible. When they finished playing most of them sat down on the stage and cried along while the audience chanted "Thank you". The passion and emotion in that room was so heavy you could practically touch it. A concert and a moment in time I will never forget. We all shared something special that night. The end of an era.
Hey, that is awesome. I remember hearing about this show, but had no money then and live about two thousand miles away. It sucked that I couldn't go to contribute my thank you to them for everything their music has done for me. I love the end is here album, but I can't imagine it holds a candle to the actual "final" show. It still shook me the first time I gave it a playthrough; I was pretty upset by the time it ended.
Make sure you change the quality to 480p.. It actually makes the sound quality better too :)
Great performance, but, 2:25 and on, chills. Fantastic performance!
Dear. God. Increase!
seen for the first time last night, amazing! can't wait to do it again
The horns are tighter live than on the album 💪🏽 amazing
Yearning for grace, and hoping for peace.. Dear. God. INCREASE!!
This brings me to my freaking knees every time
Every FIF video has comments on religion, so here's mine:
I loved FIF before I investigated Christianity. I loved FIF when I dived in headfirst sincerely determined to find out whether it's really true. And I love FIF having decided it isn't true. The spirit expressed in music stands above the dogma of religion
Oh hon, but it is true. I encourage you to get involved in a group like Celebrate Recovery. A regular sermon is so remote from what the Church was meant to be. When you go to a small group like CR, you are surrounded by people who understand that they've messed up their lives and are working through their hurts, habits and hangups. It helps free you to be who God created you to be. It's helped me so much that I can't even compare how I was before to how I am now.
@@amiebrown7926 100% TRUE Amie!
@@amiebrown7926🙂 I agree, & I experienced some good people and good stuff for sure with CR, for sure, but specific group branding aside, I especially just encourage the get in a small group. Let me emphasize this: A healthy-enough group. Avoid seduction and bullying manipulation tactics. Look for sincere, caring persuasion and gentle but firm warning instead, with the individual’s free-will respected and the biblical (check what Peter and Paul and John say) NT honoring of the equal priesthood, and different but equal value and function of *every* Christ-believing person.
Please try to see through initial attractive appearance. I was fooled multiple times by well-spoken, confident friends and “leaders” to deeply evil effect.
That’s what the church was/is, just equal, human-family people at different places in our earthly adventure, who were/are interested in (maybe?/for sure!/etc.?) following this very unusual Jesus.
Small groups meeting in homes or wherever are not perfect, and the same problems of course try to pop up, but I personally think they have some of the best potential for recapturing the overflowing-to-everyone goodness of the earliest followers of Christ. I’ve experienced a lot, a LOT of “church”,: it’s best, really beneficial to all life, holy goodness and it’s most misguided evil corruption, and I think the experiences of the Christians from the NT books are really helpful in avoiding the (quite literal) trappings of religion and unhealthy, corrupt traditions ie. just doing things the same way over and over without questioning them honestly. The Pharisees and Sadducees/corrupt religious and religio-political leaders of Jesus’ day were the ones he seemed to come down hard on. Let’s not be, or continue to be, like them.
So much of the conventional “services” I have, in my sober, unfortunately experienced opinion (I have had a lot, from the pews to the platform and pulpit) do a *dis*-service to the whole human family. There *IS* much, much better. A world better, in fact. 🙂
Single handedly the greatest and most passionate band to ever play.
Im so glad that I was able to pick up their documentary back earlier this year on Amazon, used, for $15. It has their "first" show and then the full last show they did. Love the ending of it as well. All the pictures that they show and the track Invictus plays - awesome
This definitely gave me goosebumps. Wish I could have been there for this.
0 dislikes. that's what I'm talkin bout'
I'm not christian, but I love Reese and FIF they really have a passion in their music, and that makes it very enjoyable regardless.
It's just a miracle... the impossible made possible, they r back!! I can't believe it...
Still gives me goosebumps.
What a voice!!!
Their best and most blessing song.
dang bro. amazing. especially vocally...
I could listen to this song all day...
This song is so good
Just amazing
His VOICE!
They went out on the top of their game. I'll always love this song. Reese's scream towards the end always puts chills down my spine.

I love this song. .& this live version gives me chills every time. I miss them> i wish I could see them one more time in concert
You, dear sir or madam, have either the greatest camera known to mankind or the best audio-syncing skills known to mankind. I applaud you, dear sir or madam.

Please upload the next part it was amazing !!! plase plase !!!
What a great band!
What's that ripping sound?Oh just the feels TEARING MY HEARThehe tøp.......
@ArtistXhairs Here's a fun fact. Five Iron Frenzy was the first ever Christian band to sell out the Fillmore Auditorium as locals since they hail from Denver, CO.
I got this DVD in the mail yesterday. It's great to know that some of the clipped audio footage from The End is Here live CD made it onto the video version of this concert.
Thank you.
Secretly I am a FIF fiend and I always get really sad when I hear this song especially on the End Is Here...
That is fantastic audio! You are to be commended for that level of quality!
Amen
FYI people..this is from their DVD that they put out a year or so ago. The entire last show is on there and the sound is so good because they just synced the sound of the actual album (The End Is Here) with the video.
Best performance ever❗️Totally feel the spirit
Me too BigTall!
that was epic
THEY ARE BACK!
Damn, didn't realise they re-recorded Reece's vocals for this.
wow
love this !
