Bro, I just wanted to say, I think you're videos are awesome!!!! It's a real crime you don't get more views...I'll never understand why some jackass making reaction videos, gets a billion views. But someone making real heart and soul videos doesn't!!!! You're unique style of telling the story and funny little animations always put a smile on my face. Thank you so much. 🤩👍👍👍👍👍
Really appreciate the kind words. Thanks a ton man!
I'm taking a break from doing new stuff on RUclips lately because I haven't been doing too well view-wise with the more recent videos I've put out, but I'm hoping to get back to it this year at some point, and comments like this are a great motivator. Thanks again!
@@RewindArcade Couldn't agree more with the comment above. Good on you for not pandering to the trash algorithm but I feel you on the difficulty for sure. This might be the best channel I've come across since @SummoningSalt for doing deep dives embedded in excellent storytelling (with much more polished editing). I wonder if he would give you any insight on how to buck the trend with the algo. I hope you feel the desire to keep with it, even if it's at a slower pace or only as a creative outlet. If you don't achieve yt fame, it will absolutely not have been for lack of production skill.
Thanks so much, that means a lot! SummoningSalt is a talented storyteller and has excellent pacing in his videos so being compared to him is very flattering.
I plan to continue on with this Capcom series since I’ve had fun with it, just need to find the time and motivation.
Thanks again for taking the time to comment.
literally 1984... in a good way😊

It's clear to see then where Akira Toryama got his inspiration for Dragon Ball from lol
Definitely! Dragon Ball’s characters and first story arc are heavily based on Journey to the West.
Great series!!! I love your video style. It's so distinct. I always loved the CAPCOM 1940's series. But I always wondered how a game based on the defeat of the Japanese in WW2, became so beloved in it's home country of Japan? Very educational and fun to watch. This is a video I will definitely watch over and over again. Great work, Bro.
Thanks a ton, really appreciate the kind words!
It seems like Capcom themselves weren’t expecting it to be very big in Japan since it was designed with the West in mind, but that didn’t stop it from catching on over there.
1942 started a great series, but it is so curious considering the historical context - imagine a series that pits the protagonists against the US lol. I didnt know about the GBC port of 1942 will have to check that one out. Great job, really hope this wonderful series continues!!!
Thanks dez!! Yeah, it’s really interesting that a trip to the movie theater is what inspired the game and that it received so much popularity in Japan given the subject matter. 😅
I'd like to see documentation of arcade designers by name. They are literally obscured under the banner of the parent company.
Yeah, it’s difficult to piece together exact names outside of the main designers for each game since they were never directly credited. Toshio Arima handled a lot of the main programming on the early Capcom games, but he will get talked about more in the next video since he fits into Ghosts ‘n Goblins/Makaimura in a funny way.
@@RewindArcade Designers of note can be sourced, for example, Fukio Mitsuji of Taito. It was interesting how game mechanics were produced with primitive assembly language. Who was responsible for the glorious life-like character behaviour in Rolling Thunder for example? Where did these people study, what became of them?
These retrospectives are so enjoyable!
Glad you’re enjoying them, thank you!!
Omg!!! I have been trying to find you again for so long. I couldn’t remember your new channel name. So glad I did. I’ll have to catch up again. See you on the next one.
Sorry about that, I changed the channel name to Rewind Arcade earlier this year which confused a lot of people, haha. Good to see you back again!
i love your videos dude. They are all well made
Thank you, really appreciate it!!
Really good videos - enjoying the heck out of your channel
Thank you, much appreciated!
Fantastic series!
Thank you so much!!
I NEED MORE
I had no idea the levels in 1942 were based on actual battles!
Right?? I had no idea either!
Currently working - looking forward to give this a good viewing later on today 😀
Thank you!
Currently working, still watching 🤫
God I absolutely adore these videos. Are you planning to get more out?
Thank you so much, appreciate that! As of right now I am taking an extended break from doing anything on my main RUclips channel since most of my newer videos haven't performed very well and I'm pretty burnt out. I may continue Capchromological at a later point though. 👍
Hey i hope you fiinish this series, really well done.
Thank you!
I remember your channel name was Chris ol crisps if I remember correctly! I was kinda confused when I watched one of your videos in shmup junkie channel to make sure if it’s you or someone else!
Yup, that’s me haha. I changed the channel name to better reflect my content/videos a year or so ago. 👍
The pirate captain “Bousu” doesn’t actually have a name. His title is a bad transliteration of “Boss”. This happened again in the NES semi-sequel, where the ship mini-boss is named “Biado”, an mis-transliteration of Beard, as in Blackbeard.
Huh, that's really interesting. Appreciate the info!
where did you get a list of capcom's games in chronological order? i tried searching the internet but i cant find one
I just looked up all the release dates and put them in order. I’m not sure if there are any chronological lists out there.
next video could you make a video series marvel vs capcom game
can u do 1985 capcom games
The script is already half written for 1985, but the 1984 video performed so poorly that it's been hard finding the motivation to finish the 1985 video up. I'll definitely get around to it eventually though. 👍
this video doesn't have the attention it deserves
