Having been a major appliance salesman for Sears back in the late 1980s, I can tell you the reason that ranges, dishwashers, and dryers are sold without cords is pretty simple. There are actually different types of 220 volt plugs (3 or 4 prong) depending on the receptacle that is present. Also sometimes the appliances are hardwired for power instead of plugged.

Looking at those mountains every day is dream material. Having 4 beautiful and helpful children is a true blessing. Having land enough to build such a wonderful home and run horses, have a barn and productive vegetable garden and orchard .... wow is amazing.
The love in this family, the life in Christ leading the way, yep you've got the dream life and so much thankfulness in bucketloads.
The odd bump along the way is not I surmountable and contributes to learning and growth.

PS I had a water dog. When he was a puppy he did not love the water either. But as he grew up he loved it so much and all we had to say is “Jake, wanna go to the river?!” And he jumped through the window of our ‘river’ car and off we went for hours of fun. Just give him time.

Videos about your normal family “stuff” absolutely delight me. We all have things that go wrong or not as planned. And you’re right - it’s easy to dwell on that and allow it to bring you down. But it’s important to remember that when you live through the things going wrong, it makes you incredibly grateful when things go right. I think one of my most important lessons is to be adaptable and not so rigid. I’m reminded of that saying “If you want to give God a good laugh, make a plan……”. It’s all His way and in His timing, not ours.

I saw a video of a guy saying something so true and have to share! “If you practice something, you get better at it. So if you practice saying negative things about yourself or others, you’ll get better at it.” I choose to practice kindness and gratitude so I can get better at that. Same goes for resentments or empathy. When people let me down, instead of being resentful, I pray for them and have empathy for them. When we have an attitude of gratitude, there’s no room for the negativity in our hearts. You and your family are always such a beautiful example of how we should live and treat each other and handle life’s little ups and downs. For that, I’m thankful for you and it’s always a joy to see a new video from you pop up! ❤I love you all and I hope you have a beautiful and blessed weekend! ❤

@@GoodSimpleLivingYes, He is , the question is ... are we ???
You do a good job trying to live the life He calls us to. With so many temptations and a world of evil intent surrounding us, it us behoven of us to constantly seek, find, & follow His will. In the Lords Prayer where we pray ..." Your will be done on earth as it is in Heaven ...." it assures us this is possible, by His grace and the oower presence of the HOLY SPIRIT in our lives, so to aim for it and to make it happen daily is an achievable exercise . This is contentment. To know all things ars possible thru Him who strengthens me".
Doing His Will by making it our own, removes the struggle . It's a pleasure to watch a family in another country, on another continent, but in the same world, loving and serving the sane Almighty God, and lyving the same life of example to the best generation abdbin NY case , the next generation again ie: my grand kids. In the early to mid 60's as a child, I, and the neighbourhood kids would gorge ourselves on wild Huckleberries all day long in the forests surrounding us. This was in lower mainland British Columbia, and now, houses, stores and busy roads have left those berries as only a memory. May God bless the little, simple things and make the annoyances in life fritter away in the wind. One thing to remember is where the shower rod will be mounted later. That will require a little extra backing. What I did in my rental properties was use silver stainless steel piping with threaded gusset plates on the ends. The rod is mounted solidly into the wall and makes for a sturdy shower rod. There is no possibility of it falling down (think of the crappy rods that use tension pressure to stay in place). There are no thin metal rods here. Your place will be used by teenagers and young adults. They will put things to the test for durability. I do the same thing for towel rods. They are easy to make. Just make an elongated U shape with the gusset plates on the ends. I make them the length between two stud bays. This allows the gussets to be screwed into the studs. It will never get yanked down and also doubles as a place to grab when navigating wet bathroom floors.

When I as a kid growing up in NC I would pick huckleberries in my backyard.
Wish y’all would have got to pick some maybe next year. Thanks for sharing it’s a beautiful place.

To answer the cord question, it is because of so many different possible plug types. Most appliance makers sell to different countries, thus the lack of cords.

Years ago, stoves did, but now they require you to buy the "correct" one that fits your receptacle. There are at least 4 different configurations, maybe more. (We once owned a hardware store! haha)

I can answer you cord quandary. Dryer cords also don’t come with it and it is because sometimes mobile homes use different cord configurations. So you have to match the cord with the plug. Same thing on a stove or dishwasher.

The brackets that holds the barn door up could inset in the door with a router. That would bring the door out away from the wall more

Answer to the question about why the appliances don’t have the cord is if the cord is mounted on the stove they often get damaged from shipping. Secondly depending on location some stoves are required to be direct wired but that is rare.

A wooden plank hood vent would be really nice! Like those doors. Good job! Like your closing remarks.

There are a bunch of different outlets and most of the time the outlet is already there (all the time unless there was a problem or the house is being built) from when the house was built so you buy the cord and plug that matches the outlet vs changing the outlet.

Consider doing your stove pipe offset above the ceiling. Replace the two boards with the current hole.

For the stove hood you can get a metal worker to bend and cut a piece of black metal to cover the full width and height of the stove cover and exhaust pipe.

For the door rubbing at the top, have you considered shaving a small amount of material off the door at the top using either a router or the table saw. Then you can touch up the stain

Thank you for such a wonderful message. Its such an easy thing to get disheartened by all the little things that don't go right. What a great reminder to count our blessings. Your pup still may be a water dog yet, he is still so young and entering the fearful stage, where things can seem very scary. Keep getting him out there and gently introducing him to things, he will figure it out!!

Such good memories high lake hiking in the mountains above Bonners Ferry years ago.
And, yes, so important to carry bear-bells, ( marbles in a can) to shake to let grizzlies ahead down the the trail that we are approaching. Never a good thing to surprise a grizz.
God bless you all and thanks for sharing your Ida-home living. 🙏 ❤

Such a beautiful vlog. My favourite half hour of the week is watching this. We used to own a small holding, but now our kids have grown and fledged the nest, so we have downsized, as we were unable to managed by ourselves. I still have our chucks and our four boys all live within an hour of us, so as I hit sixty, despite awaiting surgery on my neck for arthritic changes, I nod in agreement at your statement and I smile as I definitely have enough. Sending love and prayers from Sheffield 🇬🇧 Jenx

To add my 2 cents to im sure hundreds of responses, ovens and dishwashers come without plugs because: a) electric ovens are 220 and those come in either 3 prong or 4 prong varieties so you buy the stove then the appropriate pigtail for your outlet. And b) dishwashers can either be hard wired to the circuit (no plug) or with a std 120 plug, so it depends on install preference.
For the dishwashers it’s sorta silly, but I suppose it keeps cost down a small amount. For ovens and stoves it makes perfect sense.

As for your power cords, for the stove, some older systems have a 3-wire cord. Newer homes and most new installations are required to have a 4-wire cord. The microwave missing a cord is mostly due to varying installations that may require a longer or shorter cord. That's pretty much it. :)

They don't put plugs on stoves because houses that are older have different outlet types. Hence they don't know what type of outlet you have.
