- Today was the day that Pokémon GO Safari Zone St. Louis was originally scheduled. Since the event has been postponed, ticket holders were able to experience event Pokémon in game, and I got super lucky with shiny Pokémon!

dude. they should offer this feature to everyone for the ticket cost. i am sure niantic would love the money and its not like we all can travel to st louis if covid wasnt an issue. seriously just offer these tickets for people to experience at their own homes

That would be great yes but, realize how everyone's safari zone was laggy? That's because there were too many people on the server. So yes that would be great for Niantic and the players. The servers would crash hard.

As far as i heard there will still be a safari zone at a later date and the tickets you bought are stil viable
Doesn’t help now since tickets aren’t available. You just have to trade with an ticket holder.
I'm the opposite. As someone who has a liverpool ticket I'll be 100% refunding after seeing this.

If we knew we could play a safari zone event remotely we'd have bought tickets even with zero chance to travel to St. Louis
Personally I think this should be the norm. You buy a ticket and it activates where you are, regardless if you can travel. BS that 90% can’t even go outside to play regular let alone these people get special spawns for buying a ticket to a POSTPONED event. Well niantic didn’t postpone it did they? Nor did they give regular players even just the stupid pikachu.

Wouldnt have paid that money to play it at home personally. As someone who lives near to Liverpool and has a ticket, I'll be refunding mine!

I wish that after corona, they would still do this, as option, to have safari zone in home after buying tickets. Becasue, sure, I can maybe afford ticket for safari zone, but travel, accomodation, food at the place, not so much

Nick, that was the least stressful travel to a safari event I’ve ever seen. I’m really glad you didn’t miss your flight. That could have been really bad. You must have left early enough to avoid all that traffic!

Pikachu with that particular hat is representing St. Louis' blues scene. Fats domino among many other blues players are from st. Louis. And yes it is a type of bowler hat.

they should have made everyone with the ticket at least have their own stop for the event also. even just 1 stop would have been useful
I was thinking if they had an item you could use once a day to drop a stop and it be available for a hour or something, you can spin get items drop a lure what ever. But just for one hour once a day. Then we can keep some balls in our bags, and get our daily bonus.
I cant say that Im not really, really disappointed. I was so excited to have safari zone hosted in st. Louis. My son and I were jazzed beyond belief to meet The Crew and just.. We looked forward to playing with the community and visitors. I wish they had just postponed it.
That said, there WAS a wee crowd out there in St. charles.. My car started to try to die on me so I went home after an hour and a half. I think we got more action sitting at home with incense going tbh.
Im a homebody so I dont mind staying in. But it was a GLORIOUS day here and I wish things had gone differently.

Why didn't they open up at home tickets to buy? So many of us are stuck at home... I would have participated! Seems like a waste of a money-making opportunity.
I completely agree! I sent a message to Niantic and asked if they would be willing to do that. Hopefully, they will respond and consider it. Maybe if a bunch of people get ahold of them and ask they will do it!
Because people are going to beg niantic to make that a regular thing even after the quarantine, and that would defeat the purpose of going outside and shit

People have begged Niantic for a world Safari Zone since the first one, so there’s nothing new there.
Niantic has done a lot for us during quarantine.
I think players would understand that an “at home safari zone” would just be for the one time.
I placed an incense and Shiny Baltoy spawned on me. So that was unexpected. Also, it feels like the pokemon are ALOT more aggresive when they spawn from incense

Thank you for this video. This our first event. We were disappointed because of the quarantine, but we understood. Now, here in Chicago, ok, ok, ok, the Western Burbs, the weather is terrible. Knowing that we can stay inside the entire time (we were going to walk in the park behind our house, not near people) and not have to go outside is very nice to know. You have a new subscriber. They closed down Safari zone tickets very early last year due to Covid. Some zones were over 5 months away yet. If the Pokemon Go Community Leaders could stand up for those of us that didn't get an opportunity to purchase that would be great. We didn't even have my wife's summer schedule yet to request the time off her work in order to buy a ticket since it closed in the fall. I tried to buy tickets to the Philly one the day they locked us out. :( It would be very nice of Niantic to include us.
