This is how a community should be like , the game itself is just a side option , but being with friends and play together now is a luxury. I don’t mind spending all stardust as long as I can play again with the community
So long cool story. I'm 33 and have been skating on and off for 21 years of my life, and recently have been going through a lot of hard times here lately. The day before this community day my mother was at our local dump and a man asked her if she had any kids that might want a skateboard.. she replied that she has a 33 year old kid and gladly accepted the setup that he was about to toss. Turns out it's a Superior deck, with matching red and white thunder trucks, bones bearings, and bones wheels.. So basically I got a free $200 setup and spent my comm day at our local free beautiful concrete skate park here in Georgia and had the best day in a long while skating and chatting with the local kids and older gentlemen there. I also witnessed one of the most beautiful things I've seen in a long time between people! There was a kid totally shredding with an older chipped up board he had and one of the older guys there noticed how good he was with such a sub optimal deck.. the man said his goodbyes pretty early after he had been there only to come back 30 minutes later with a brand new deck from the skate shop down the street and handed it to the young fella telling him he deserved a better deck! The young man hugged the deck and thanked the man for being a complete legend. It was just one of those things that you never see anymore and I just had to share it somewhere. Hope you see this Nick, love what you do and how real you are brother. 💚 Sorry for leaving such a long comment, but this had to be spread somehow. Wishing everyone the best in Pokémon or just in life. Btw the I also got a sunburn and that was what triggered the idea to share this story here! 🤣 Shea butter lotion is better than aloe vera btw. We had an in person niantic meet up spot in boston that didn’t add any stops for the event too, strangely the park with the virtual event extra items had a few extra stops though. Seems like all the in person spots should get those crazy extra stops to get people to come out.
And as if we needed any more proof that Niantic has no idea what they are doing and actively killing this game… They organise a meet up that wasn't even in range of a single Starbucks stop… They need a new CEO, it's pathetic now
That was the lamest community day! I played the whole time and got two shinies. Other people in my area had similar results. And a few did signifcantly better. I was hoping for party cloudy weather for the stardust, but it was sunny until 2 pm. Them it turner to partly cloudy. I miss having a longer time to play, and being able to play at a more optimal time for many reasons.
It’s a roll of the dice. Every one has good and bad community days. Thats just how luck works in this game. Sorry your Alolan geodude comm day was one of the off events for you
Was at the Beverly Connection yesterday as well. My friend and I were concerned about the one pokestop. We were going to go back to our favorite park for Comm day but out of nowhere about 10 pokestops popped up.
@@Brian.92 it was so confusing to be there and no pokestops. It didn’t make sense but my friend and I went in the store and we see it pop up. We were like finally! As for parking we paid for parking and it ended up being free 😂
At 2:49, we see Nick powering up the Chespin at 4,471,203 stardust. Accounting for the 15 Geodude he already caught, let's round it off to having started at 4,450,000 stardust. Then upon completion of the event and about to power up the Mr. Rime at 11:02, we see Nick with 4,600,628 stardust. That amounts to about 150k stardust earned during the event times of which he spent 277,400. So yeah, 54% of the stardust used was earned during the event.
Thank you, Wilson. I gathered about 225k stardust during this event. I was expecting more like a million but I guess that was an unrealistic expectation
Same happened in Miami, they announced a meetup at a mall that's a tourists trap next to the bay, and they even used those pesky balloons to pitch it every day, but when we got there only the regular pokestops were available, everyone was dispersed everywhere so no real community happened, and what's funny is that the people greeting trainers at the Niantic's tent didn't even have a clue of what Pokemon Go was, they were just two people hired by an advertisement company to be there handing out Niantic stickers. I drove 40 miles to get there so what a disappointment it was.
The official Niantic “meetup” in Winnipeg was a huge let down. They just had 3 people walking around giving out codes to redeem for like 3 items. If people didn’t point them out, no one would have knows who they were. They also just walked around the park not staying in a specific spot.
This was the first community day that I completely forgot. My ball was charged and I had a few 100 pokéballs. Sadly it was very busy at work and it sucks.
You're not trying too hard with orange pants. I wore an orange top and so did a friend of mine. I got 5 & she got like 10 or 13 I don't remember. I'm just happy to have the family now. I was hoping for Kanto geodude also but it didn't happen.
I completely got the times mixed up yesterday, logged on at 2.04pm and realised my error! Glad I already had 2 shiny geodude so at least it's a cheap trade to finish the family
They had the first ever com day meet up in Melbourne, Australia for this day. I really wanted to go, but unfortunately because com day is only 3 hours now I wasn't able to make cause I was working. For com day as a whole I only got to play on my half hour break, only got 1 shiny & didn't even have time to finish the special research. My coworker who went on break after me didn't even get a single shiny. They need to make them 6 hours again
Considering I didn't watch the show, didn't play the older games, and have only been playing, consistently, for a few months, I'm happy to have learned of Mr. Time's existence; because I hate clowns. I attended a Niantic promoted location for comm day and the Niantic pokespins didn't pop up until over an hour into the event. I had never been before and there was a ton of construction blocking the main entrance, it was a shopping center so not even a nice area to play, and had significantly fewer spins than my regular play areas. I don't understand what they're doing!!
They did added more pokestops at the Beverly Connection but they added them until 12 pm. I was actually looking for you. I arrived there a little after 11.
I cleared up everything for 3 hours, no lunch break and only fast catching, got 35 shiny. Never grinded so hard in my life that I forgot to do the research. Stardust makes you do crazy things.
I was excited by the 3x Stardust so for the first time in ages i popped an incense so I could give Community Day a try. Forget they nerfed the heck out of them. This is why i havent been playing much lately :/
Don't feel bad I only got 2 shiny and both were in the last hour. Had surgery and had to play at home so with changes recently it was not great. Should at least boost incense for CD and events..

What a joke, in-person meetups. Niantic can’t even get that right. They have them to “bring back the magic” of community days of old and mess them up. What a ridiculous, short-sighted vision.
Niantic has goals beyond Pokémon Go for app creation and profitability. Figure out how to add it as a reward for adding stops or a possible drop for scanning stops and helping Niantic build their “real world metaverse”, as they call it.
Would be nice if you make a video focused on the recent changes to remote raid passes. People that live in rural areas with no gyms or pokestops and without any local pokemon go communities are getting discouraged from playing the game. I think it's about time for a remote pass boycott. No more spending coins on this item, let's pretend it doesn't exist!
Couple of ideas for the game that's come to me. - Next (or future season) the "Battle Tower" they did for PvP matches but for trades! The number of trades you have to do doubles each time as does the stardust. If they want people to meet up and trade more I think this is a great incentive. - "Classic" Community Days introduce the 2nd stage WILD shiny if it isn't released already. (For example Charmander Classic introduces Charmeleon WILD shiny, maybe make them spawn more in parks) If it's a Normal CD that has the base shiny already out (eg Magnemite) you could do the next stage the next stage with an unreleased WILD shiny (so Magneton). Would give these already out shinys more incentive to do the CDs

I got 4 in 30 minutes or less cause I messed up and didn’t charge my phone and started like with only that much time left. That includes me getting to my location with traffic and parking the car as well. It’s ok cause I didn’t want this shiny, but I forgot about the stardust rewards. It is what it is tho🤷🏽♂️

I literally drove out of the parking structure when I saw the pokestops finally pop up. Had to pay for parking twice 🙃
