there is a bit of a compromise as it’s about 50% blocked so you do still feel the hot air on your hands when on the wheel, and also this screen is movable from left to right meaning you could utilise a bit more of the void from the left of the screen to the passenger air vent. However because Mercedes didn’t design the factory screen to be symmetrically placed to the silver centre console surround we made the decision for the screen to be centralised to the silver console opposed to equidistant between the air vents as the customer was more phased by having screen central to having the air vents 100% on show. Not sure why Mercedes designed it this way but there must be a reason!
We make them ourselves in house! We actually have another SLK in for the same solution today so will be another one of these videos up in the next month or so!
@@johnkleiscaraudio thats great! Will u show how u did it in that video? And do u have any tipps on how i can make this myself? im in germany and dont wanna ship my car out to the UK for this, but i installed a pioneer radio in a different car where the radio fit in way easier and I would love to have one for the slk too :/
@@David-G-3 we didn’t have the time to do a full install video unfortunately. It’s not practical for us to do those type of videos but we definitely got more behind the scenes footage etc. it is a 2 day installation for one of our installers so not for the faint hearted…
Very Flush, and professional looking.. And the steering wheel functions work 👏🏾👏🏾 Bravo ✨
thanks for the comment & positive feedback! It was our first & I don't think i've seen another SLK with this conversion done as of yet!
Only negatives on this you use them center vents when the roof is down to blow hot air on you and its blocked on the drivers side

looks amazing! Can one buy the backplate that covers the holes around the radio somewhere or did u make them yourselves?

Is it possible if u could sell us the backplate and the mounting for the screen to stay in the middle as shown in the video ?
Does this set up make the command button near the gear knob obsolete ?
It does indeed, nothing left for it to operate anymore.
How can i get this ?
Get in contact and booked in with us 👍🏼
It looks fab, how much it cost to fit it in a SLK 2012?
Depending on the screen choice/size this exact solution is circa £1900 (as of august 2023)
How can it fit in?
With a couple of days work from one of our talented installers!
