Everything on the train is moving at the same speed as the train, Jon.
Technically, not true (relative to the Earth), if, say, someone is walking or providing their own movement. Which is why you could still jump, to be clear.
Yeah, but the wind resistance would make you regret leaving letting go of the train really fast.
and hopping forward with some force will make you move faster than the train
@@togamid Well, he isn't holding on to the train at all so
No, it isn't. However, from a Relativistic perspective, you are in the same frame as the train and all the other passengers. Hence, you experience time-space the same.
I lost my mind when I opened the door and the train revealed
It feels very rare in this day and age to get three full length games all in a row being superb. And yet, here Hitman stands, being just that: Bloody Fantastic. It makes me very happy.
"full length"
@@tracyh5751 yes
Minor detail that I like is that after you inject the Constant with the Serum his voice loses it's monotone, implying that it was an affect he put on in order to try and sound more intimidating.
His voice was better in this game overall, in 1 and 2 it sounded like he was making fun of someone.
Or kind of mysterious?
Eh, he literally is known for hiding
Incredible how they gave 47 a character with an arc and development without..... well actually i don't quite know how to descrive what fuckery was going on in Absolution but without that.
This story feels like it was actually about characters that make plans rather than every character making random decisions for no reason like Absolution, which is a major difference.
Jon's happiness at the fact the 47 sort of smiled made me smile.
I elected to go for the reverse Silent Assassin on this level, wherein I killed everyone except the actual target. It may have been arguably less challenging, but it certainly was satisfying.
So a guy is gonna woke up in a train in the middle of the forest with no memories and everyone else around him dead? Sounds like the start of a new game

16:08 Jon: Sadly, everything's breaking after one use

ive noticed Jon criminally underused throwables throughout the entire series so many situations where he should have just chucked something into someone's head rather than throwing it to bring them to him.
Snowpiercer is hitting different.
Underrated comment
It’s the graphics
painfully under rated film in my opinion
They really changed things up for the second season
Would a Suit Only run of this level mean Edwards is faced with 47 in his boxers?
8:33 Jon, you can jump from moving vehicles. Let's say the train is moving at 100km/h, and you can leap at 2km/h. From the ground it would look like you leaped 102km/h, since the train's movement and your leap speed at combined, and since you are moving faster than the train, you move forward. It only looks like your jump is slow because you're on the train, making it look you your jumping at 2km/h.
I think his point is that he was outside in very strong wind and snow, and the wind and snow would be very forceful.
This has been the most nostalgic series I’ve seen in a while, thank you for the flooding memories Jon.
8:32 Yes they would. You aren't moving relative to the train, so apart from the fact that you have a ~30mph wind blowing in your face, it would be just as easy as on the ground.
If you dive head first you would reduce air drag and could actually jump pretty easy since you are not slowing yourself enough to go back, and in that case the side profile provides little drag meaning that the worst thing that would happen would you slip and loose your footing.
Wouldn't you be moving relative to the train though? I mean you are on the train, meaning your moving at whatever speed the train is moving at
@@neonbunnies9596 Exactly - since you and the train are moving at the same speed, from the train's frame of reference you are not moving. If we put it like this - would it be more difficult to jump INSIDE of the train? No, it would be no more difficult than jumping on the ground (because you and the ground are moving at the same speed). The problem is that the air outside the train is moving very fast relative to the train, so jumping on the OUTSIDE of the train would be difficult due to strong wind, not due to momentum or anything like that.
@@ilo3456 So the worst thing that could happen is... probably falling under the train wheels and dying? How comforting.
@@globalincident694 I mean that _is_ the reason why security is so extensive around trains. Doesn't look good if a hobo is turned to mush under the wheels while he was hitching a ride.
I love that Jon is still avoiding murder on the level where you can literally kill everyone
It's probably because there's a 2000 point penalty for killing non-targets
@@neonbunnies9596 No no, this level everyone is considered a target because theyre all members of providence. You actually get bonus points for every person you kill
Well there not listed as targets, even on Instinct, so I could see Jon not seeing them as targets and ruining his Slient Assassin
@@neonbunnies9596 yeah its not really clear but thats what it means by the "providence members may be eliminated" secondary objective. im not sure if it effects silent assassin or not but it doesnt give the "NON TARGET KILLED"

The only thing you have to worry about physics-wise when jumping forward on a train is the wind. Probably not enough to make it impossible.
people have and do do it, it does depend on a lot of variables though. early French, German and Russian ticket inspectors used to inspect tickets by walking on the outside of the train, indeed, Britain had a notable "highwayman" train robber in the 1800s who would do the same, but it's not recommended on the side of the train, the physics of the gaps between carriages mean there is often a zephyr pressure effect pushing air out laterally.
On a former soviet carriage, ice on the running board and a running speed around 50mph can certainly make it more complicated... most of those "in the community" who happen to research this sort of thing argue the safest thing is to walk on the top of the train car.
Any physics questions a person has about trains and people on them should be referred to work of Buster Keaton
Unless its a bullet train, then wind resistance would be an issue! lol
Hitman, KOTOR, CK3, F4YOLO, even Rimworld and Portal 2, I feel like it's been a golden age for the channel lately. Thank you Jon.
8:32 it is possible to hop forward on a moving vehicle as long as the vehicle is not accelerating and it is short enough that wind resistance doesn't slow you. This is because your movement is relative to you, you are in the same frame as the train so will continue to move at the same speed as the train unless something acts on you. This is why you can jump on Earth despite it moving and rotating constantly. If you ever want to look like a mad man on a bus you can actually test this, just make sure the bus isn't speeding up, slowing down or turning.
Plot twist: The "Serum" was actually harmless. The Constant had it there in case Agent 47 woke up and came to murder him. He said that ironic line immediately after showing you the "serum" so that you'd use it on him. Then pretended to forget everything. Now you've left him alive to go free! Excellent work, 47
Well...Ioi is moving on from this franchise, soooo, probably not
@@aritraroy6592 I wasn't being serious. It was just to follow on from what Jon said about that memory wipe being reversible and that he shouldn't have left the constant alive.
Is there any evidence he left the constant alive? We don't see him killing him, but that's about it
@@togamid He walks out of the carriage, stops the train and gets off. I assume that means he's left alive. There's no evidence that he's been killed after the serum is used.
Nah. I know you're not being serious, but Edwards was WAY too cocky for that. In fact, the plan to assassinate him only worked because he was too cocky.
There needs to be a “blood stained suit only” for this mission where Jon just goes nuts on the providence members.

This entire trilogy of Hitman games has been one upping each other in terms of best final level and it really shows
Okay, this title is pure perfection.
It could have been fun if there had been a small cutscene of Diana and Victoria, perhaps while she was talking with 47
The James Bond vibes are insane in this mission (and in Hitman 3 in general but especially so in this mission) and after Hitman 1 and 2's static "cutscenes" i wasnt sure how an IO Bond game would go but now I cannot wait for IO to do their thing

I thought H3 was going to end up just like the others but I've been really impressed with the ideas and level mechanics they've come up with for this.
I really hope there's more after and it isn't just abandoned ... but then, she has had a strong send off so maybe it is best to lay the franchise to rest :(
the general consensus seems to be that the series is going on a break so ioi can work on their new james bond game

@@tobyjarvis6544 absoloution was out in 2012. Blood money was 05?? Expect him back for 2025 I'd say. 2024 possibly. For this game, bonus maps, elusive targets, escalations, contracts. And across all 3 games? GTA5 still gets new content. I expect similar over next two years until Bond is out.
Hitman 3 was elevated in no small part by your palpable love for the game Jon. Can't wait for more.
Can NOT wait for the return of the full story! That was the series that introduced me to your channel
I hope we get a “full story” of all of the levels.
some "subtle" James Bond references in this level.. space station disaster in 1979- Moonraker, the train being the former HQ of Janus - referencing Trevelyan/Janus' train from Goldeneye...
Jon, Janus is a reference to Goldeneye, it was Sean Bean's spy name after he turned evil, this is THAT TRAIN from the movie/N64 game.
Exactly. Double meaning. Janus is quite literally the two faced roman god.2 references. Two ideas. Two games, 1 train.
Jon's perception at work again, missing the fact that he can eliminate Providence operatives.
8:33 you can hop on a moving object because you are moving the same speed as the train. So long as the train does not accelerate or decelerate.
8:30
IF I remember my physics homework, then the speed of the train should not matter because both the train and 47 goes at the same speed and thus the hop should have the same base speed.
People who do this for a living may explain it better.
I feel like the final guy set you up to use the memory serum on him, as a way to avoid his death/possibly be recovered later (since he’s on a train with his own people who know who he is and can probably guess what happened to him) but it was still a lot of fun.
Hoping this goes requiem, from blood money and we get a full story series. :) Nvm this mission is really good, maybe rivalling requiem and the twist at 8:16.
I was totally waiting for Jon to realize that he could kill everyone in the level without consequence. Maybe we’ll see that happen at some point? But this has been a fantastic time. I honestly think IO put out three of their best games with this trilogy, and if this is the end of the Hitman series, as they’ve suggested it might be, they went out with a bang. Consider yourselves forgiven for Absolution! And as for more Hitman stuff on the channel? Yes, 100%! I for one would *love* to see The Full Story return for levels in Hitman 2 and 3, especially now with the knowledge of how everything connects between games. Please, Jon, make it happen!
8:45 You can jump forward on a moving train because your moving at the same momentum. Though there is air resistance to consider, considering the shortness of the jump, the closeness to the train, and the speed not being that fast, I think 47 is perfectly within the laws of areodynamics
Very fine sneakery there, Jon. It's been a pleasure watching these missions!
As I travelled there a few times and then heard there is a level in romania I got excited, looking forward to see where exactly that mission takes place! I was wondering if 47 may break into a mansion on the countryside, a transsylvanina castle or even that Ceaușescu palace?
Well.. it's just a train in the middle of nowhere at night, so this might take place close to anywhere...
but: having rusty nails instead of lockpicks sounds pretty romanian to me! :D
Jon, I *HIGHLY* recommend replaying this level on your own time and waiting exactly 47 seconds after picking up the serum at the end before doing anything. Just an idea
Jon: “No ones getting out of this one...”
Me: “Alive?”
Jon: “Conscious”
what a fun playthrough. you were real excited about his subtle smile lol
been waitin all day for this, thank you jon
yes you can hop forward while the train is moving forward, just like how you can hop forward while the earth is in motion. the air resistance isn't enough to cancel out your forward momentum.
24:16 Jon the person u took down there has the commando commander outfit, if you took tat, u can just walk through the train and no guard will realize u
I'm so glad they are making some additional content. I love these games.

10:26 No one is going to question a key pipe is missing a valve, but that's there's one fitting in the same boxcar?
Really glad to see you seem to have enjoyed this game just as much as I did! It's wildly different from the games preceding it in a lot of ways, but I think what they did with it was ultimately really creative and very satisfying.
This has been REALLY enjoyable. I really hope we do get some "The Full Story" and hilarious kills videos from this. :D
Jon, you can in fact jump forward on a moving train, for the same reason you can walk forward on a moving train: the forward momentum of the train adds to your forward momentum as well. You likely won't be able to jump quite as far as you would elsewhere, because yes, the forward momentum you gain begins dwindling once you leave the train's surface, but especially for such a small jump, you wouldn't lose momentum to such an appreciable degree as to be brought back to your starting point.
This game is stunningly beautiful.
Edwards sounds a lot like G-Man from Half Life.
He does look like a younger and healthier version of the G-Man.
Wake up, 47, and smell the ashes...
I really took my time with the game, and I don't know why more people don't (unless they're doing youtube videos and such) but I finally finished and finally caught up with your runs. Really good game and trilogy, though the inconsistency with things like how far NPCs can hear distractions and how many people investigate, the mixing of spoken dialogue with different captioning, little things could have been worked out to really nail it.
Diana helping with kills in the wine production area might be my favorite thing though. SHE TURNS ON THE RADIO!
Such an amazing game and such a stunning series with Jon!
21:20 I know that you were going for silent assassin but I was really hoping would would take that guy out "... In a brawl.".
Great playthrough, very fun watch
I am starting to miss Hitman 3 now and want more can't wait for the full story or DLC.
31:45 And you forget something of huge importance: for the first time (at least, that i know of), Hitman wears SHORT PANTS (in the Heaven Island mission).
Oh, and the reveal that your on a train is actually just really cool.
Jon waiting with the ending weapon for 47 seconds gives you a secret ending.
What a great conclusion to a wonderful series
I remember worrying thats it over and now it’s season 3
24:20 ah, trust Jon to miss that the guy he’s about to dump is the guard commander, a unique disguise that none of the guards outside can see through. I love perception -1 moments (although I guess he did look relatively similar to some of the other guys, so maybe only perception 0)
I completely thought that Grey was going to betray you and be the big bad.
jon: let's not kill people
mission: providence members may be eliminated
So basically Agent 47 is now Violet Evergarden... almost...
He's doing a Hamster's work, slaying EVIL!
Uhm
Sorry where was I?
Of course you can jump from cart to cart; if you can overcome the air stream that's rushing towards you with the speed of the train.
But if you jump backwards, the wind might even allow you to jump further.
How old is 47? He was an adult when Diana was a kid and she il like middle-aged now
Jon, every single person on the train is a Providence member, so you are allowed to kill them and maintain Silent Assassin. If you were to ever replay it for challenges or for the other endings. There is no "non-targets" on this train.
Hitman 3: *Allows you to kill everyone with zero consequences this one time.*
Jon: "We don't do that here."
you can hop over to the next train segment no problemo
except in this case we can't just ignore air resistance or the gale force wind blowing in your face as we do many elementary physics problems
8:40 no Jon, your velocity is the same as the train, so pushing yourself to jump forward would just work as normal, now him being able to stand on that ledge is a different story
"would just work as normal" Aside from the headwind, that is.
@@JMartinni you can still jump forward on a moving train, its a frieght train not one of the specially made bullet trains

The PS2 hitman games were the only games I played as a kid. It's been a joy watching the playthrough as a non-gamer
Momentum of the train doesn't matter. The train is moving fast relative to the ground. The train is not moving relative to 47. Relative to 47, the ground is moving fast in a backwards direction, same with the air. Jumping forward is about as impossible as walking along the outside of the train to begin with, though more so because not even 47's shoes would be preventing the wind from pushing him back. He probably could not jump let alone walk forward in those conditions without something sturdy to grab and pull himself forward by hand.
The hopping whilst on the train thing works-- I'd be more worried about the fact you're doing it in a snowstorm, and thus friction and grip would not be your friends! xD
The train being previously owned by “Janus” reminds me of Alec Trevelyan’s train form the Golden Eye movie and game.
I know you meant "from" and not "form" but now I like imagining that Alec Trevelyan is like Ganondorf transforming into Ganon only instead into Alec Trevelyan into a literal train.
This was a pain with SASO on first run, lots of guessing which way people get out of chairs and that damn ghost guy who kept walking through the wall
Ah, wonderful series is wonderful. I wonder though, are you planning a MAXIMUM CARNAGE run sometime? I feel like the best stealth games are at their best when you can follow up being a Ghost with just tearing the world down in flames. You know, like Dishonored.
Boy, I'd love another MATN Dishonored run, especially since Jon's voice has been updated since then.
Gotta say this feels like a weird final level to me. I know other people are comparing it to Requiem, but in my head I’m comparing it to Sgail - and that seemed like a far better finale in the spirit of the game’s style
I both like and dislike this level, on one hand I think it culminates Hitman 3's more cinematic feel well and it is pretty fun to play, however on the other hand, Hitman 3 had already proven that the more cinematic style could be blended seamlessly with sandbox levels with Berlin, of which the opening was a setpiece (and a really good one at that), but the level itself was super open ended and completely unguided. I think I definitely would have preferred an open level to get to the constant, but I still enjoyed what we got.
You can turn off fuse boxes more than once for two distractions - or even just leave it off and wait for a second person to investigate. No need for a different means of distractions
john still hasn't turned on the silent assassin symbol
