I am so sad to hear about this. My parents watched their beloved professors being torn away from their classrooms during the Cultural Revolution in China in the 1960s. They were forced to condemn them. They were still devastated by that experience even today. I can't believe that barely 50 years later, a new generation of youth have to experience the same thing, this time in the west. RIP, Science and Democracy.

My father was tasked with "keeping guard" on one of his professors. He repeatedly begged her to shut up so the others would not keep beating her up. She still refused to. This and building coffins from door slabs for his classmates who "fell" during the "revolution". He said that he can still hear the sound of hammer on nail echoing through the dormitory at night these days.

They told me I was more than eligible for a scholarship and a pathway to academia. When I interviewed for the scholarship everything went well. I was told by the head of this pretty new research facility that I was too white to get the scholarship. It was my only chance at affording higher education. Despite coming from humble beginnings, I was judged solely for my skin tone. It hurt to know that. I wanted to help people through tech and psychology.

      @Saddamuel 3 года назад +38

@@mjay6245 There is a difference though. What you describe is a relatively natural state of affairs which usually existed in some form or which evolved naturally but was slowly abandoned due to principles developed in those societies. Whereas what is occurring now is the deliberate and gleeful construction of the same kind of thing by people who should know better with the benefit of hindsight.
The latter is far worse on a moral level. By which I mean that the annihilation of one ancient city state by another is less of a moral failing than it would be for us today to reinstate the human sacrifice of a single randomly chosen person each year. Point being, we should know better.
Further, if the "old ways" you describe continue to return, then I would find it hard to argue with a victim of this system who concluded it was a mistake to ever be "inclusive". For example, though my family are technically immigrants to my country, I essentially agree with people who conclude that this immigration was a mistake and a crime which is responsible for a lot of the current DIE regime.

The resources were available the entire time, yet the knowledge was blocked. It's as if we are accelerating toward a culmination. Very well expressed. I’m very proud of him. I wasn’t sure if he’d become involved in this manner, only that he’s capable of helping. He’s put in the time, learned lots of material, wants less suffering, can debate nearly anyone and has traveled the world speaking and directly confronting challenges. He’s earned credibility and admiration of character. Opportunities await him. His room is clean, he’s strong from carrying heavy burdens and today’s dragons, whales and malevolence have gained too much ground.
Studying the atrocities of the past century is very stressful and costly, but it’s worth it for those who can take it. Like him, I’m soft-hearted but exposed myself to it and learned.
History so often feels over and done. Learning from the past only matters when understanding and wisdom are applied, moving forward. For most of my life, it primarily has been about who, when and where, but beliefs, ideologies and behaviors can be adopted at any time. Regimes, empires, armies and other people might be stopped and defeated. They’re temporary. Terror and terrorism are an emotion and a strategy. Terrorists are people. Combating people is winnable, but emotions and -isms don’t have a pulse.
Nobody can permanently defeat all enemies. Hearts and minds are the ultimate targets, because they lead to behavior. Forget genetics and hold others accountable for that which is within our control. Human behavior is worthy of credit and blame, so long as justice and truth are discernible.

I realized the time was soon approaching that I would no longer be able to put my head on my pillow at night, should I be forced to make hiring decisions based on some ludicrous physical characteristic rather than competency. I knew if it was a poor hire, they wouldn't be trainable, morale would go down in their department, productivity would decrease and ownership would again be looking at HR for a solution. Dr. Peterson,
    The students can win it.
I've taken two option classes in my college, one about neo marxist feminism and the other about post modern theory on language.
I've won the cultural wars in both. The feminist class teacher was a PhD but she could barely keep up with the statistics that you used on your many interviews. I was severely canceled some times and had major difficulties against the cult-like energy of the class, but by the end, i had broken the hegemony and fought my way into respect by a decent portion of the class.
In the post modernist class, i was more experienced, i face Foucault's central ideas head on in a seminar, claiming he was not just wrong, but resentful and deceitful, the majority of the class sided with me and the professor developed a great respect for my attitude.
The intelectual raw material provided by you, Jung, Neumann, David Buss and many others can make a 23 yo go toe-to-toe with progressive professors with PhD's. The battle is winnable Jordan.
We can win, Jordan. We MUST win.

I usually have Global Admin credentials on each job and have access to just about everything, and when I'm communicating with an employee of the company I can see their credentials and their history with the company in the employee database. Often people have credentials from good schools but it's clear when working with them that they lack the skill set to do their job. I often tell my employers that I can fix a problem but unless they fire employees A, B and C the problem will reappear a few months after I leave. The D.E.I hires never get fired, which means I will be gainfully employed forever fixing their blunders, and my rates are going up.

Scenario based training that asked me to imagine "speaking with a person who identified as black" (i don't know what that means) or another that not so subtly mentioned (and I kid you not) a scenario where a coworker named Dan had just given birth. Every single co-worker that quietly spoke amongst themselves agreed this was insane. There are many places where diversity initiatives become frankly nonsensical and the best examples are mandated diversity quotas for senior positions or the ends of long training pipelines. We see this in medicine, where fellowship programs and even clinical departments for fully trained doctors are asked to ensure they have a "diverse" workforce. Let's say you want 20% X in your organization. Well, when the college student population is 18% X, medical school population is 15% X, and the people in your specialty are 12% X, there's no possible way every organization can have a department with 20% X. It's mathematically impossible. And the way of increasing %X starts back before even the first stage of the pipeline. Not to mention that maybe X people are plenty capable of doing that thing but maybe there aren't enough X people who actually WANT to do it to make proportional representation ever feasible.

I learned this from Voddie Baucham, an intelligent black Christian pastor and author who railed against affirmative action because everyone he met assumed that he had been accepted to Rice University because of race, when he actually qualified academically. He later earned a degree from Oxford University, not because he needed it for his career, but because, at that time, there was no affirmative action and grade inflation for blacks. I see it as a way to continue to provide for my family and our future selves, while also allowing me to teach my children how to not fall into the same traps as the people who foist these ignorant training sessions onto us. I do not believe that this wokeness nonsense will continue forever. I believe overall that common sense will eventually win out. My main point was that treating people as though they are something they are not, will often lead to them becoming that very thing. I don't believe that most people are racist or homophobic or the myriad other pejoratives that the left use so frequently. Being 'trained' to not be things that a person already is not isn't only unhelpful, but it is damaging. I am a fairly strong person, both of will and of mind, but there are those who have to attend these trainings that are not. Forcing these diversify and inclusivity trainings on people causes resentment and creates hostility that could easily be aimed at the very people this D-I-E stuff is claiming to help. My favorite professor from my university days was "asked" to resign, due to the "controversial" nature of the subject he taught. He taught human biology, including human evolution, reproduction, and sexuality. His classes discussed the biological differences between gender, race, and culture, and how they evolved. It was by far my favorite, and the most informative class I took at university. He was a great teacher, teaching us HOW to think, not WHAT to think.
His classes have since been scraped entirely, and now they teach plant evolution, reproduction and sexuality; as plants are a much less "controversial" subject matter.

Back at the start of the millennium when I was in college, a young black women would constantly disrupt class & attack the old white female professor. It was starting to become the norm and waste half of the class time when I finally spoke out. I told her we all had paid for this class, not just her! The rest of the class backed me up since this single student had hijacked our education. She did try to stop me but I would not let her interrupt me and told her that I had listened to her argument and now it was my turn to speak(this was not a debate class). She stopped and the class went back to normal But it would not if I hadn't spoke up. Later the professor and other students thanked me for speaking up. About 20yrs have passed and now I'd be front page news, labeled a racist and canceled. Perhaps even charged with a hate crime, not that anything I said was hateful or racist. I pray we regain control of True Science and people use common sense once again.
