As always, thanks for taking us along on your fantastic fishing trips. I'm still looking for Mother Nature to be nice and give us good weather here in missouri so we can start having as much fun as you. Be blessed. My friend.
I found your channel trying to look at what baits were better than others and ended up binging your videos for 2 days. You are so easy to watch and very entertaining! Love the channel man!
I wes with my son years ago on the Colorado River and threw a 4inch lure to a dock and was reeling in a 8inch bass. I gave the rod to my son to reel in. He said it was too big and I took it back, noticing it went from easy to hard. As we got it closer I noticed about a 5lb bass eating our little fish. In his mouth and out. All the way to the dock until it saw us and left. I'm happy my son saw it all. He's hooked now!
I like this channel because 99% of fishing videos do not apply to my fishing. I only fish canals like this in the desert west of Yuma in Imperial County
Great vid,i love the quail talking away in the background.when i used to go visit my folksin phoenix id always have a 20 guage and a fishing pole in the backseat.
@@TheFishinMagician20 yea, the aroyos and back roads in the back of lake pleasant for quail and the creek arms always had bass and crappie.to much fun for a human being, cast and blast.fire up the grill old man, bacon wrapped jalepeno and cream cheese stuffed quail and crappie fillets in butter and seasoning...throw in a rabbit...feast Az style.
The problem with those canals is as soon as you walk up on them your shadow hits the water and this fish take off. I've seen huge bass in them and the second my shadow hit the water their gone. Your shadow hits the water before you even get the the edge
If you ever do out of state fishing, I suggest going to lake cauhilla, which is in la Quinta, California. It’s great for trout, bass, carp, bluegill, and monster cats! It should only be a 4 hour drive from AZ
5:25 those aren’t the only things you gotta watch out for in the Arizona desert. Bark scorpions, Africanized honey bees, Gila monsters, coyote packs you name it!
That bait fish looks like a female bluegill. As a master baiter myself, I am half way decent on species identification LOL looked like a fun day out there!
The video is awesome. I am new in Arizona. Would you mind letting me sit next to you and watch you take a video or see how you fish? Maybe I can be your assistant for a day.
I caught a bass similar to the size of your last catch a few days ago out of the center of a sunken tractor tire near the middle of the canal. A couple of days later I caught yet another bass out of another sunken tractor tire in a different stretch of canal in Mesa. I noticed that there were sunken tractor tires about every hundred yards or so. I'm wondering if the SRP deliberately places those tires in the canal or if some local slob just randomly throws tires into the canals just for kicks. Have you ever taken one of those castable sonars with you on your fishing trips and let it float up under bridges? I ask because I did this once thinking that under the bridges is where the big boys were hiding. My sonar didn't show any fish under the two bridges I tried scanning but, that could have just been because of the time of day or year or some other unknown factor. I mean, other than maybe there just wasn't any fish in that particular part of the canal system.
This was my first Subaru, for the price, its capabilities and gas mileage it’s the perfect vehicle for me right now. Even on stock tires and no lift I’ve taken it on some fairly harsh off road adventures. My gas is so good I can go up to northern Az (2 hr drive and a climb) and back to town on less than half a tank.
Great video as always. Do you need a fishing license to fish in those Canals? Going to be visiting some family in AZ in a few months and want to be prepared. Thanks!!
@@k.robatasio9471 lol, all good. My mom’s side of family is from Nebraska and so was raised from the beginning to be a fan but have lived in Cali my whole life. Good luck out there and hope you are safe .
You threw the half dead fish you used for bait back? Isn't that illegal in AZ? Here in Wisconsin you may use a legal size fish for bait but it has to be kept and included in daily bag limit.
Have dead isn’t entirely accurate. But there’s no law against throwing them back after they’ve been pierced. Here it is a law however if a fish is released and it dies, it counts toward your limit. This guy kicked off great. Wouldn’t have mattered anyway cuz the limit is 10
If I may ask, how come you and porter hardly if ever use soft plastics? Just curious tbh, I feel like im always watching you guys catch a a variety, which is always a plus to not always using plastics. Just because I fish the canals a lot as well, well urban ones more, me and a homie have been finding pretty big bass. Nonetheless, loved the video as always!
I have been using them a lot more actually. The main reason is that I try to switch up different things in the video and I don’t like committing to one method. I also have a mainly bait audience here on RUclips so I almost never fish just soft plastics.
Aaaaaahhhh I just seen your driving a lesbian Stationwagon. You need to get rid of that. Or is it like one of my bosses cars. The car he uses to drive into Seattle and Portland with, so he doesn't get fucked with. The ghost rider
They’re great cars. Good on gas, great off road capability that has got me to some areas I would otherwise not be able to, and fairly affordable. You act like I’m driving a Prius or something 😂
Jaja. Yeah. Just give you a hard time. I've been out in Arizona quite a bit but haven't any canals without the fencing all around. Did you end up going north, east , south, or west of Phoenix
I haven’t fished in like 2 weeks cause of the rain flooding and tornados so I’m watching you to stay entertained
Shoot! Stay safe out there thanks for watching!
Tornados here where I lived just wrecked some stuff sadly so I hope your safe!!!
Love this guys videos, ive learned how to hook bober, small weights, than small hook with minnow.

Gotta be better the little poo creeks in NE, but pretty sure any waters in AZ require a license.
