The Anastasia part was MAGICAL!
Lots of moments where chills run down the spine :-)
IKR! 😌
Second this!! 😍
@@joebegly733 i got chills too. One of my favorite songs
Rewatched Anastasia recently just for this song - fantastic cover, definitely magical!
Voctave January-November: Slay
Voctave December: Sleigh
good 1 mate
Voctave, YOU ARE GRAMMY AWARD WORTHY!
WAIT A DARN MINUTE!😱 Vocative should REALLY do some songs from ‘The Prince Egypt’! They’d absolutely do AMAZING!!!!!😍🤩😍
😆Deliver Us those Vocals
That's what I've been saying!!
Yes yes yes I’ve been saying this for YEARS!!!!! PoE was a MASTERPIECE!!
Yeeeees
Omg yes pleaseeeee
Not me watching this for the 100th time! Ashley’s voice wrecks me every time!!🥰😍
To the commenter who didn't care for, "the tall woman" who was "overacting"... That's what musicians often do when they're thoroughly enjoying their craft. It's not acting. It's FEELING. If anything, I think it enhances a group's performance when its members are really into their music. And to the person who thinks there had to be some post-processing of the soundtrack because they sound too good... Nope, they're all natural, and THAT GOOD!
I enjoyed her.
Tiffany is LIFE!! She just can't help it..she feels the music with every bone in her body and has to express it!!
I love watching her! You can tell how much she enjoys what she’s doing. As a musician myself, it makes me happy to see other musicians enjoying beautiful music!
@@KcLee1990 exactly!! She just exudes love for music!!
No it's not really 'dancing', it's more so like the singing version of swinging your arms while you walk. It just feels right in the moment. Kind of helps you keep time.
Everyone in this group is so gorgeous, it's ridiculous
Oh please, I NEED a Sound of Music Voctave medley!!!!!
Can you imagine Kate or Tiffany slaying on "Climb Ev'ry Mountain", and all of them having so much fun with "So Long, Farewell" and "The Lonely Goatherd"? Maybe an EJ/Ashley pairing for "Sixteen Going on Seventeen", and what they could do with "Do, Re, Mi" and the title track...
Also one of the men singing Edelwiess, I would love it😁
Their new album has 'climb every mountain' on it.
@@UserHorologium I NEED THISSSSS
00:00 - Christmas Waltz (Sammy Cahn and Jule Styne for Frank Sinatra, later covered by Carpenters)
01:18 - My Favorite Things (The Sound of Music, Rodgers and Hammerstein)
02:53 - Once Upon a December (Anastasia, Stephen Flaherty)
You actually hear the beginnings of "my favourite things" at 1:10. They kind of interweave it with the Christmas waltz.
The same interview leaving happens between "my favourite things" and "once upon a December" at about 2:40.
"Christmas Waltz" is not a Carpenters original, although they have what might be the best-known (and best performed) version of the song. It was written in the 1950s (originally for Frank Sinatra), and has been covered by many other artists.
@@Rosannasfriend Absolutely! I wasn't sure what time to include, so just went with when it fully started rather than the interleaving bits. Well noted though!
@@UserHorologium Thanks - I had no idea! Should've checked that... :-)
America at its finest. Humanity at its finest. The soaring spirit of our soul, at its finest. What's left to achieve, in terms of the dignity and joy of living? P.S. Cheers from Canada!
Oh, THANK YOU for including Once Upon A December!!! I'll forgive My Favorite Things for that!!
Please make Once Upon a December a separate song.I love the song
Absolutely agree
Thank you so much. I've never heard such beautiful a capella music before.
The best accapella group ever! No one compares!
Chrystal flexing with that dress :P
These harmonies are like salve for my soul
And second year in a row Voctave jumpstarts my Christmas mood.
so true
Anastasia is one of the most under rates princesses of all Disney. Voctive did her song justice. I love you all!
Maybe because Anastasia was produced by Fox Animation Studios. But now that Disney owns Fox, I guess she can technically be a Disney princess :)
@@melitaoeij5142 yeah, you're right.
Jesus Christ Ashley you nailed it as always!!!!!
The tenors and basses need more recognition!
For those of you who didn't know, Voctave released this song as part of their Snow album in 2017, but only now released a video for it. Jamey Ray (the arranger for the group) has said in interview that it is sad that so many people only know their music from RUclips because they have songs that people have asked for on their albums that a lot of their fans don't seem to know about. They have 5 albums out now.
Yea, you cheapskates!!
Wow. The thumbs down people are idiots! This group is simply stunning.
That mood shift at 2:40 0.0
Yes, I'm bragging here. I just got my ticket to see Voctave live in Dayton this year 2023. Can't wait!!!
Finally this mixture showcases tje men's parts. Love hearing that Bass!! 💕
Their arrangements have always been good, but this was ANOTHER LEVEL! MY GOD I would love to be in this group! 🎉❤
‘Once upon a December’ really makes me want an album of “full version” Disney songs. Go the distance, make a man out of you, beauty and the beast, part of your world, journey to the past, so this is love, The gospel truth 1-2-3/zero to hero, You’re welcome, etc. 🥰😍😍😍
Once Upon A December isn't a Disney song. It's from Anastasia. Not a Disney film.
Scott Miles I believe it’s universal’s but Disney bought the rights to Anastasia which is now considered Disney.
The people who worked on Anastasia were part of Disney then left to make their own movies as they didn't like the boss at the time. That's why it screams disney when you watch it.
Here to remember what I am looking forward in 2020.
Beautiful harmonies!! You can't have Christmas without Voctave!
This is what I call the million dollar vocal group, amazing, I am speechless!! WOW!!
Omg the anastasia part 😍😍😍😍😍
I am lost for words when I hear Voctave. This is true harmony that takes one’s breath away.
My ears are happy and my heart is so grateful for each gifted member of the magical gift that is Voctave. ❤️👏👏👏👏
The most talented vocal harmony group ever assembled 🇬🇺
The high note that punctuates "bee stings" gives me goosebumps.
It’s that time of year again to come listen to the Christmas Waltz and cry at the “Once Upon a December” section!
Everything this group touches is gold...
I closed my eyes while listening to Once Upon a December, and felt as though I was floating. What an absolutely beautiful rendition of this song, superb. Thank you so much for sharing your talents and craft with us!
Would someone PLEASE tell me who’s that angel at 1:17? I don't want to be a snitch or anything, but is God aware that she’s been sneaking from Heaven to record these videos? 😳
What purity, smoothness, richness, and fullness of voice. Of all the singers I’ve heard in my life (and I literally heard and worked with thousands), she’s something else. Period. 😩😩💕
The short blonde soprano is Kate Lott.
The choir part of Once upon A December
I love this Christmas waltz
The Christmas Waltz is outstanding!
Boy do you put out good harmony sound.... Thank you for your work.
Voctave is the best acappella group period!!! They should do a Christmas concert and announce the place time and dates.
好きな曲の詰め合わせ!
幸せすぎます!!
I am glad Once Upon a December gets the respect it deserves! Well done!
Damn, that once upon a December is off the chain
Why do I feel like I've been waiting my whole life to hear those arrangements of "My favourite things" and "once upon a December"? 😍
Thank you all and Merry Christmas!
You put it very well. Words can't even describe how good they are.
voctave sounded equally if not more amazing in person
Voctave will be in Lakeland Florida on January 18, 2020
Wow that collective pause at 3:45 was so satisfying
My childhood memory comes back when i hear once upon a December ❤️
Please sing "Into the unknown" or "Show yourself" from Frozen 2 next.😍
Ps. I love "Anastasia"😍😍😍
Yes Into the Unknown please!!!!
You guys would ROCK into the unknown.....
Yesss and I feel like I would get major chills if they did a version on Kristens "The Next Right Thing"
I could almost hear E.J. posting a nasty high note on "Into The Unknown", accompanied by Kate one octave higher!
THEY DELIVERED!!
I love the sound of that last soloists voice. Very girlish voice that you wouldn't expect from her.
Based on the fact that I can't stop listening to it ... this may just be my new favourite! Look, I love listening to Pentatonix and Homefree etc etc ... but Voctave bring me to tears every single time. It's quite exhausting ... in a good way. This is really a freaking masterpiece!
You know what? people might not be "blown away" by this song and I kind of understand them because they mainly wait for the super big and long non-human notes of sopranos or tenors but THIS EFFING ARRANGEMENT is full of life, a roller coaster of emotions brought to existence by the dinamics of the piece itself and the OUAD soloist made my heart melt... If I had to chose the words to describe this one, I would say phantasmagorical
, enchanting and bewitching. Also
ME ENCANTÓ!!! ME ENCANTÓ!!! Y no importa si no tienen la misma cantidad de views que los demás videos, este es un trabajo excelentemente ejecutado... Excuse my english ahaha Greetings from Venezuela!!!!!
What the heck???????? I was absolutely blow away away by this. Blown out of this world and into orbit. This is one of their very very best works and I've heard them all.
I got real chills as soon as once upon a December started
I would LOVE a music man medley 😭😭 I’m in February listening to Christmas music and I am not ashamed.
I would absolutely die if there was a sound of music medley! That is my favorite movie of all time along with Hello Dolly and to hear one of those or even if I dream and hear both of them I would just be grin to grin the entire time lol
James Ray and Voctave nailed the "once upon a december" the lyrics are happily magical but the music supposed to sound sad to reflect Anastasia's loss so the combination is hauntingly beautiful added with the tutti vocals and enchantingly fortissimo harmonies. Magnificat!
I can't help but think of OTMAA 💙💜💛🩷🤍with Once Upon a December 💔🕊
Again I have no words. Simply the best. What I don't get is why there isn't over a million subscribers already.
Praise the editor.
I 💘 you, Voctave! You Aced Once Upon A December. You captured how that song is haunting and beautiful. I would have never expected you to reach into the lexicon for that song but you did. Did you ever. Bam! You laid it down.😇
I run out of fitting words to express how much I love Voctave. Each singer, every song and arrangement, and the harmony. God bless you all 🎶👍
Hello from Canada. THANK YOU FOR WHAT YOU DO! You are a gift to the human spirit, today and at any time. Bless you....
Let's just take a moment to appreciate the sound engineer. Dang! On this one in particular is so good with the balance.
Wow you all look SO good, especially Ashley!
I am so happy they did Once Upon a December!!
One of my Voctave favorites! My daughter and I always sing Once Upon a December at the top of our lungs when this song plays.
The Once Upon a December part gave me chills. I haven't heard this in two years, and I think it's even better!
Ashley holy cow mama you rocked that dress and that song! Absolutely extraordinary!
I like to watch the faces of the singers - its so entertaining to me :-) wishes and hugs from Vienna/Austria.....
Just left the Segerstrom, the performance was amazing and every standing ovation was well deserved.
Shut up I'm not crying that's you!
*hastily wipes eye sweat
I usually don't like Christmas in general... But every year this Choir makes me feel goose bumps and Christmas Spirit.
I definitely need to watch Anastasia now. 😁 Merry Christmas, Voctave. 🎅🎄
The arrangement from 3:14 - 3:36 was insanely good! Couldn’t stop listening to that part alone. 🙌🏾😫
I love ’Once upon a December’. Good choice. :)
Came here for ''Once upon a December'', and I was not disappointed! absolutely stunning, Voctave you have done it again
I love how physically expressive Tiffany is. Amazing soprano.
I'd like to report a snatched wig
ahah
I cried when Once upon a December came up. I think I misread the title cause i clicked it so fast but I didn't expect it and sang along in my head. I absolutely loved it. Can you do Journey to the Past next?
The whole piece was amazing as usual, but wow... chills throughout my entire body for the whole of Once Upon a December
Beautiful as usual ! Btw, Chrystal's dress is amazing ;)
ONE WEEK! And it will be my utmost pleasure to see you all perform live in Scottsdale, AZ! Masterful, Wonderful, thank you!!!!! Ashley melts my heart every time she sings. ❤️
OK, I heard them this past Saturday, 12/21. They were BEYOND amazing. All the quality and richness of their voices was there, just like I expected. And funny? Kurt (one of the basses) did a shtick during, "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch", which was hysterical. He was apparently ad-libbing parts of it because he had several members of the group doubled over laughing. After the last song the audience gave them not only a standing ovation, but people were whistling, cheering, shouting accolades and clapping vigorously, and it all didn't die down until they were well off the stage. Now I only want to know when they're coming back!
INSANE! My heart is bursting!
A W E S O M E !!!! Jamie next we need a MASH UP of "SOMEWHERE OUT THERE" from AMERICAN TAIL, and IF WE HOLD ON TOGETHER from LAND BEFORE TIME.
They all look beautiful and sing amazing
I feel shivers and heat at the same time whenever I watch a new Voctave video. What an eargasmic thrill!
Wooo!!!!
I always love all of your renditions. You know, one song that i always imagine being sung by Voctave is Abba - Thank You For The Music.
I'm very thankful by your music. You're the best voices. Ever.🙏🙏🙏
Oh my! What a hauntingly, beautiful journey for my ears and heart. All the tonal layers were so delicious. What a stunning mash up. Well done Voctave!
Once Upon A December was the perfect choice. Bravo. I'll listen to this countless of times.
This is perfection in every way possible .
Thank you VOCTAVE for this Christmas gift! And MERRY CHRISTMAS to all of you. GOD's loving favor be doubly given to the group for Year 2020!
This is sooooo gooooood i'm crying 😭
You bring joy when you just open... your mouth :) such talented singers. It is just an honour to listen! Thank you for sharing!
2:02 That major chord!! It's like a hug from your favorite person! This is such an amazing medley!! Perfect arrangement as always, and as always, absolutely perfect execution!
I remember seeing someone suggesting this in the comments of a previous video. Thank you, you rock! Voctave, you are all amazing.
