Saturday Night Fever "Stayin' Alive" routine

- The culmination of our cinema night workshop using moves inspired by the film. This is an amalgamation of moves from throughout Saturday Night Fever, not just the iconic 'Night Fever' dance.

If you want to try our Saturday Night Fever inspired routine to Stayin' Alive though here's a summary of the routine:
We start with the Brooklyn Bus Stop (the iconic dance of the movie, danced to Night Fever), initially doubling up the elements, as well as some extra disco points, before adding in some variety. Additional moves include:
Arm Rolls [00:01:52]
'Check the Cufflink' [00:01:59]
Up and Down Points whilst whisking [00:03:43]
'Play the Guitar' [00:04:11]
We chose to use Stayin' Alive for the actual workshop as we felt it gave more choreographic options than using the Night Fever song and sticking to the Bus Stop.

I miss dancing back in those days. Even took a few lessons back then in the same dance studio that's in the movie. Now if I even try to dance I have to take Tylenol afterwards cause nothing moves like that anymore lol.
Ya got that right😜All I ever say any more is “Ow”. I run the risk of becoming the first person to bore myself to death.

Love it. Thanks for the very precise step instructions. One idea the female dancers could add is during the cuff check..is to change it to something like "acting as if shes tying invisible spaghetti straps on each shoulder" so it keeps in tempo with the same cuff idea since ladies are wearing dresses and not shirts. During the real shot in the film, I recall she steps aside and lets Tony check his cuffs as a solo, and she just dances in place. This would give ladies their own solo.

Unfortunately we do not have the rights to this music however it means the rights holder monitors the video views and may attach an advert to your video

There's always an uncoordinated one in every bunch
Well our students aren't professional dancers, and only learnt the routine in a 40 minute workshop, so there was bound to be a few mis-steps 😀
