Hi, loved your tips and also your way to approach make up! I have repurchased the foundation of Clinique, because it covers well and also protects my very sensitive skin from sun and pollutants. Xoxo!
Sometimes I don't realize how easy it is to get caught up in the all the consumerism that's so prevelant here on youtube. This was so refreshing to watch.
It is so refreshing to see that you do not have drawers and drawers of makeup. I have been cutting down on buying makeup and especially eyeshadow pallets. You always look so beautiful. You have really found your look and it truly works for you.

Fantastic!!! I have a brush I use on my eyes that I bought when I was 18 and I am now 64. It was from a drugstore, a no-name brand with a transparent orange handle on it. Funny what you hold on to. There is one eye shadow by Lancome that was my first shadow that I would still purchase if it were still available. Silversmoke Fawn ... a light taupe shadow ... both gray and brown. I loved that eyeshadow and used it daily. I prob bought 3 or 4 pans of it. One other Lancome product I still use (plus each one of my 2 sisters as well) is Dual Finish Powder in Matt Buff II. We all 3 wear the same color and have always worn it. Too funny!!!
Alice Adler I was curious about that eyeshadow that you liked, since it had such an unusual name. I found a company that replicates discontinued makeup products, including your specific one. Just look up eyeshadows, and the name. I’d be interested in how good they are. I imagine anyone missing a favorite product, might have luck there. If you’re curious, their website was www.threecustom.com/home.php?cat=253
You should do everyday makeup looks for the body-types! I know it's a little more complicated, with skin tone and what-not, but I think it would be super cool to see ways to apply makeup on different face shapes. :)
so awesome to see someone so consistent with their loves. so many youtubers are constantly changing favourites from video to video and being like "OBSESSED! YOU NEED THIS! BUY BUY BUY!" that this video is like a breath of fresh air. i've not tried anything from your list yet, but now I'm curious to see how I'd get along with some of the items :)
Oh Ally! That's why you're so unique! Thanks for reminding us that we don't need so many products! People do forget that cosmetics expire! Brands try to convince us that we need more and more and we end up hoarding unnecessary products we never use! I'm always amazed by your great taste in choosing the right colors and your overall knowledge! It's so refreshing to watch someone like you! Smart, practical, talented and beautiful. Also you have such a relaxing vibe haha! Keep doing amazing videos for us love! ✌😍❤😘
I love your so called minimalistic approach, that way I think you appreciate more what do you already have ,and enjoy it more. The mass of cosmetic products became very overwhelming . Thanks for the videos!!!
Really great (and cheap!!) mascara is the Essence lash princess volume (package is black and apricot). I wore that dual l'oreal mascara all thru high school and this one is better and it doesn't drop the eyelash curl for me.
I love you and your videos. You're very practical and realistic. You help everyone embrace our natural features and you do not focus on products but on the craft
I love watching you! 💖 u were one of the first Tutorials i watched on RUclips and I'm so glad i found u again many years later. Is there anything from Canada u would like me to send u?
I think it really depends on what you're wearing over it. I realized BB cream does NOT work well with primer. :P Also, skin type/need . . . I can see how some people might need something to manage oil throughout the day (hopefully primarily through skincare), whereas I use hydrating/low-silicone/non-powdery types or just face oils to avoid looking dull.
THANK YOU! You're absolutely stunning and it's so refreshing to hear someone being real about makeup vs. just naming off a bunch of the latest high end brands. It's all about how you use the tools, not what tools you have.
Inglot 505 contour is the best for me I use that for 3 years. My sister just bought an YSL contour that similar to inglot 505. And I tried that its the same exactly the same but smaller and way more expensive.
All products minus the Sephora are staples In My own daily routine.. hahaha ( you have good taste) How great is the mascara?!? Nobody on YT praises it, but I love it!!! I own high end and drugstore and in my opinion most perform same, it’s about paying extra for brand name and packaging.
OH YEAH. Favourite threes: Mac- Ruby Woo lipstick.(a lipstick that suits all kinds of skintones). Maybelline- Magnum Volume Express Mascara. Maybelline- Age Rewind concealer.
I really only have one MUST HAVE product: Clinique’s “Black Honey” Almost Lipstick. I’m 56 and have been wearing it since high school. It’s the perfect color ... looks dark in case but goes on a beautiful berry color. It looks good on everyone. My only gripe is that it wears away quickly. But I still highly recommend it. Thanks Aly!
There is a loose powder highlight from Avon, lol, got 20 years ago.... gorgeous!! It's a beautiful blush/ champagne color, perfect for my darker skin tone. It comes in a bottle, you tap out the product through small holes. I think all the writing is rubbed off. Probably the first highlighter ever and still a bomb product!!!!!
I love your approach to makeup. You are an artist but you dont hve things for the sake of having them. You want things to be practical not to have an excess to show others how much you own. I only hve what I use, I cant have too much because I become overwhelmed & when I see others hoarding products I become overwhelmed for them. I love your approach and philosophy. The only products I have purchased multiple times is Absolute Lashes by W7 imitation for Benefit They're Real better than original. Mario Bodescu's Drying Lotion for breakouts and Thayer's Cucumber Toner - I cant live without these. Everything else is replaceable.
I'm so happy to see that you are very resourceful and smart about your makeup purchases! It shows that you can do so much without owning drawers full of makeup that you use once a year.
I am so touched by the comments. 😊 People love Aly so much. I love to see when an youtuber gets the well-deserved acknowledgement. In regards to make-up, I am very specific - a brow eyeliner, a maskara, an eye shadow, an eyeliner and lip balm. That's it. 🤷♀️😁
Hey Aly I am from Ukraine but I am living in Austria currently and love watching your vids btw your orchids looks amazing, have a few myself. They're my favorite flowers :) my top three products are Mac pro longwear foundation, smashbox photo finish primer and Laura Mercier transculent Powder
You seem like such a lovely person. So many RUclipsrs main goal seeded to make subscribers buy more and more makeup. You are educating us to recognize that we don't need to fall into this trap. I have been watching you for a long time and always enjoy your content!
It's so funny, here in Australia my friends and I think MAC WHIRL lipliner is cursed. I have never lost a makeup product except that lipliner. Many of my friends have had this experience too. Even after repurchasing-they have somehow lost it. And now you say that too! P.s love your videos x
Only 1 product : radiant illuminator concealer....first time i bought that i was 20 years old, now i am 41!!!!! Keep up the good work you are doing Aly. !!!
I have been using Maybelline Great Lash mascara since I was a little girl. I would steal it out of my grandmother's purse. I'm 32 so it's probably over twenty years that I have been using it. My grandmother used it for a long time as well. She always had a tube in her purse.
I love that so many of your favorites are inexpensive. You've shown me that I don't need many products, or expensive products to get a good look! Thank you. I enjoyed this video!!
What a wonderful story from your subscriber! I’m sure she’s so happy to see you hitting pans hard on the makeup she gifted you. I’m also so impressed by how little products you use in years to create such beautiful looks and transformations. It forces me to reflect my relationships with makeup. I still recall when I was a bit younger, I got so used to drive to the mall cuz i don’t have better things to do and spend time at Sephora and Ulta playing makeup and sometimes ends up buying a lot of products I can never finish. The way you presented your favorites is so different from other RUclips gurus, in a refreshing way if you will. Thanks for keeping it educational and inspirational here on RUclips.
Your approach to makeup is refreshingly sensible! There are three things I repurchase over and over again because they simply work. I add different lip glosses and highlighters to the mix, but these are staples: Estee Lauder Bronze Goddess in Medium, which is a brick reddish bronze that I wear as a blush/bronzer; Estee Lauder Automatic Brow Pencil Duo in Soft Brown matches my brow color perfectly and stays put; and after searching high-end and drugstore options for a natural looking, light-medium coverage foundation with non-irritation ingredients, I settled on Physicians Formula Super CC in Light which I mix with a touch of Benefit's Dew the Hoola liquid bronzer to create just the right shade. Not exciting, but these things work!
for contour my secret is to use the lightest contouring shade even to I have medium olive golden undertone skin. Works beautifully and still sometimes too obvious if I dont blend carefully. But so muchn confidence there is n0o dirty streaking appearance from the side and totally natural. Use it for nose contour and eyeshadow also on a casual day
There was a rimmel mascara in a pink tube I would always get, but it has been discontinued. I also repurchased, and would again, this cover girl red lipstick in the shade "hot passion." It is my perfect red colour wise and wear wise; it lasts so long.
Bareminerals products in general (because of my problematic skin), especially the serum concealer and the original foundation! And I love my eyelash curler from tweezerman!
You may really like the old school treatment foundation product by Erno Laszlo, Normalized Shake-It Tinted Treatment. It provides a very sheer, matte treatment foundation for the skin. I think you'll love it! It would be a great alternative to the L'oréal foundation.
yeah..totally agree that there is no need to spend money on tons of makeup. I had 2 eyeshadow pallets from Sleek makeup for 10 years already.. and I like them. Also I discovered perfect foundation for me L'oreal infallible matte.. it stays all day on my combo skin and looks perfect.. and it's cheap..)))) thank you for your videos Alyona!!!
Hi Aly, I think you should try Heroine Make's Long n Curl mascara. Its specially made for asian lashes that can't hold a curl and its water resistant and removes with warm water!
Thanks to you, Quarry is my one eyeshadow that I use constantly. I know why you love it and I have two Quarrys in two different MAC palettes that I made. My three HG products are Well-Rested by Bare Minerals. It's a finely milled powder concealer that hides the "blue" from my eye area. I've used this for years and always have a backup for travel. When I run low I automatically go out and buy another one. Second product is Anastasia DipBrow--it's a gel/pomade for your brows and I've had mine for over four years! I recently went out and purchased a backup! Chapstick is my other product. I use it more as a "blur" for my fine lines. At less than a dollar it is so much better than the expensive products. Thank you!
You are right, not many things you want to buy again when it is so much to try even in the drugstores. The one thing I kept on buying in the last 2 years was Bourjois foundation healthy mix, because I like his light formula and the natural finish. I tryed the Mac one, but for my skin is too heavy during the day and because I got dry skin. Another thing that I will buy will be the Eco tools brushes, I have a small set for 5 years already. And my obsession with concealers is big, just because I got deep set eyes and dark circles naturally so I would buy Maybelline eraser concealer.
I have to have a good liquid eyeliner pen, very black and now I love Kat Von D Ink Liner. It's the first liquid liner that I can easily work with😻😻😻 Aly you're amazing!
Revlon ColorStay foundation for combinated skin is very good. I also like Catrice, Essence, ELF, Nyx, W7 and Wet'n'Wild products (foundations, concealers, eyeshadows, lip pencils, eye pencils, mascara, powders, eyebrow gels etc.), affordable and cruelty-free. Also love Boys'n'Berries liquid lipsticks, Nyx Lingerie liquid lipsticks.
I would have to say Loreal Telescopic Carbon Black Mascara Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation and Clinique Quickliner for Eyes in Black Honey. Thanks for the videos.I love them
I have rebought illamasqua lipstick in the colour resist, even though its a lipstick it makes my eyes pop and it will stay throughout your meals and not stain your lips when you take it off. My Favourite everyday foundation is the wake me up, it use to be the better skin but they discontinued. Had about 5 of them, i just feel it keeps my skin looking healthy throughout the day.
Loreal True Match foundation is a lot like Chanel Luminer Velvet foundation and a revlon primer also finishing with IT By bye Pores powder and then a spritz of Hangover primer spray. Perfect . Beautiful velvet and not cakey
I will always repurchase maybelline fit me concealer (so light weight, beautiful finish and coverage), mac studio fix powder plus foundation (best powder foundation i've tried), and lancome monsieur big mascara (never transfers and make the lashes look so bold)
My top 3: Tarte Amazonian Clay or Antipodes Powder Foundation, Caked or Too Faced melted matte liquid lipsticks and Urban Decay Cannonball or Tarte Lights, Camera, Splashes Mascara.
I love love kiko's precision eyebrow pencil. It comes with the pencil on the one end and a handy brush on the other, easy to draw on and the brush makes my brows look natural yet defined. And its ultra cheap too!!
My favorite foundation is Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless. I've tried several and that one I keep purchasing. It stays on all day especially on my combination skin. I also love benefits bronzers, highlighters, blushes, and the same eyebrow pomade you use. Wet and wild is also great and affordable.
i really like the VISIBLE LIFT Blur Blush by Loreal. a tiny bit lasts a long time, and it looks very natural. ive bought it 3 times because i kept losing it and i loved it
My all time favorite makeup product is the color whisper lipstick in pin up peach. It's a sheer my lips but better color with just a tiny bit of shimmer plus I use it as cream blush on days when I don't use any foundation to disguise the red spot on one of my cheeks. It's indispensable on lazy makeup days.
To those who have negative comments on her videos (past): Hey, she gives out her professional makeup expertise for FREE, so i definitely think she deserves whatever freebies her subscribers/followers like to give her. Plus i think her openness and honesty on not having much and asking for small donations in effect, is a very endearing trait of hers. I say we ought to appreciate it, rather than mock it. Another thing, there is nothing wrong with making money off your own talents....unless you aren't delivering. More power to this AWESOME talent!👌
Bare minerals original foundation. I started using it 18 years ago when my skin was oily. Now my skin is dry and I can only use it in the summer, but I still love it for summer!
Your large eye video worked very well for me. Only problem, finding the white primer. I'm glad someone came out with another white version of eyelash primer!! I enjoy all your vodeos; they are always packed with helpful tips.❤ 💄 💋
You are so very sweet. I'd also like to thank that subscriber who sent you the box of cosmetics. How lovely and thoughtful of her not only to you but to us viewers who love to watch you.
My 3 go to products are maybelline mascara, the yellow tube, bare minerals warmth bronzer and It cosmetics brow power pencil. Those are 3 products I don't change. The rest I am just like you, they always change. Love your videos for a long time!! 💋💋
Great video, my favorite make up for over 20 years is the Max Factor 2000 Calorie Mascara. I tried different brands/types also really really expensive once but the MF 2000 Calorie Macara is it for my no itchy eyes and long long tick lashes and unbelievable cheap.
Now *this* is a favourites video. This beats all of the "OMG! This is the best thing ever! Buy it using my code!" videos from the many cretins found on RUclips. You're a bloody star, Aly. Never change :D
Привет Мне очень нравится твой канал, а это видео было особенно свежим и непохожим на видео других блоггеров. Какая прекрасная минималистичная идея - иметь ограниченное количество косметики, но зато самой лучшей! Очень вдохновляет! Спасибо
Hi Aly, have you ever done a how to video on selecting jewelry/accessories for different body types and different looks? I hope you will make that someday. Thanks.
l'oreal feather lash mascara is a go to of mine for the last 15 years, since i was in HS. I've tried others including expensive ones like Dior Show, but find that one is great at lengthening but really stands out to me for it's ability to separate the lashes and therefore make you look like you have a million more lashes than any other mascara i've tried. The other big go to for me Smith's Rosebud Salve (another product i've been using since HS). It's great because it's so versatile and it's like 5$. You can use it on lips, eyes, i even use it as a natural highlighter on my cheekbones. Highly recommend. Finally, I like you am a big fan for eyelash primer, and l'oreal now sells a "voluminous mascara primer" as a full tube on it's own!
I really like mac sour lip liner it gives the effect of fuller plump lips / also mac mascara hot and naughty I think its supper natural like you naturally have great soft lashes / Rimmel hazel brow liner i use it for everything contorting the face eyes and lips
That brush from Mac is amazing! I have it and it’s so old but still works perfectly. Otherwise I love a La roche posay mascara (but I only found it in France) and also the fenty beauty shimmer sticks
My most used products that I always buy again are naked skin concealer, wet n wild lengthening mascara and urban decay highlighters. By the way if you are buying products in цум, they are much more expensive in there than online direct with brands or in other countries.
I love the Studio Fix pressed Powder by Mac, I’ve been using it for years and the coverage is great. The Bare Minerals base pro pressed powder is really good too

I'm usually not a primer person either. Loved this video.
Marla Robinson .. I
I only use a tad of primer over my acne so it refines the texture and minimises the shine on my skin xXx

That's it. 🤷♀️😁
Three things I can’t live without...Benefit Porefessional, Clinique Matte lip color ‘peppermint pop’ and Tarte Mascara 😊
My #1 product that I can't live without is MAC half red lip liner. I have loved this one for years!
Pacifica palette for eye shadow, and blush.
Andalu color corrector. L'Oreal lipstick.
I love you approach. Very refreshing to hear when so many people are all about buying products they don't need
Holly sht! Me too. 😂
It's the strangest thing!
The Bermuda Triangle... how weird!!... xXx
This is crazy!!!!!! Me and my sister too!
I lost it too, haha
You are by far the best make up artist. So beautiful, smart and really enjoy your videos. ♥️
1. Chanel have a mat "liquid" blush that i love.
2. Isadora eyeliner
3. Any lancome mascara (but i love doll eyes)
for contour my secret is to use the lightest contouring shade even to I have medium olive golden undertone skin. Works beautifully and still sometimes too obvious if I dont blend carefully. But so muchn confidence there is n0o dirty streaking appearance from the side and totally natural. Use it for nose contour and eyeshadow also on a casual day
That was so cute when you talk about the gift from your viewer^^ You' re so talented and very warm-hearted!!!
I love this video, I am the same with makeup, I like to stick to my essentials as long as they work for me and especially if they’re cheap !
There was a rimmel mascara in a pink tube I would always get, but it has been discontinued. I also repurchased, and would again, this cover girl red lipstick in the shade "hot passion." It is my perfect red colour wise and wear wise; it lasts so long.
Yes, MAC Quarry is fantastic - have repurchased it many times 💕
Another huge love of mine is Bobbi Brown Cement eyeshadow.
The dupe to the L' oreal nude magic eau de teint is the Catrice HD liquid coverage foundation. Both are liquidy and give a matte, powdery finish.
I have to have a good liquid eyeliner pen, very black and now I love Kat Von D Ink Liner. It's the first liquid liner that I can easily work with😻😻😻 Aly you're amazing!
Love your tutorials, I watch you from Quebec in Canada. You are simple, like you. Guylaine
Revlon ColorStay foundation for combinated skin is very good. I also like Catrice, Essence, ELF, Nyx, W7 and Wet'n'Wild products (foundations, concealers, eyeshadows, lip pencils, eye pencils, mascara, powders, eyebrow gels etc.), affordable and cruelty-free. Also love Boys'n'Berries liquid lipsticks, Nyx Lingerie liquid lipsticks.
I would have to say Loreal Telescopic Carbon Black Mascara
Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation and Clinique Quickliner for Eyes in Black Honey.
And its ultra cheap too!!
my 3 favourites are:
-Catrice "Slim´matic ultra precise eyebrow pencil"
-Manhattan "dip eyeliner"
-Max Factor Blush "Nude Mauve"
My favorite foundation is Maybelline Fit Me Matte and Poreless. I've tried several and that one I keep purchasing. It stays on all day especially on my combination skin. I also love benefits bronzers, highlighters, blushes, and the same eyebrow pomade you use. Wet and wild is also great and affordable.
i really like the VISIBLE LIFT
Blur Blush by Loreal. a tiny bit lasts a long time, and it looks very natural. ive bought it 3 times because i kept losing it and i loved it
Ysl lipstick in shade 44, nyx shadow trio "love in rio" and artdeco mascara angel eyes
Favorite product I would buy over and over again is my Too Faced Semi-Sweet Chocolate Bar pallette and also my Hoola Bronzer they're soooo good
You are so honest! Love it
I'm old enough to be your grandmother, but I love your videos, and you are so pretty
Essence blush in "strawberry smoothie", Maybelline lash sensational, physicians formula highlighter in "natural nude" ❤️
You are an inspiration. Thank you for sharing your artistry with us.
My 3 items I buy over and over again is and must have:
1. It cosmetics CC cream
2. Elf waterproof gel liner (for tight-lining)
3. babyroll Mascara
Your large eye video worked very well for me. Only problem, finding the white primer. I'm glad someone came out with another white version of eyelash primer!! I enjoy all your vodeos; they are always packed with helpful tips.❤ 💄 💋
Coty Airspun loose powder.; Cover Girl quad eyeshadow in Country Woods; Revlon Super Lustrous lipstick.
Kathy B.
I love that little garden behind you!
Top 3...Kiko Milano Double Sculpt Mascara, Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer & Studio Makeup Blush in Wildflower. ❤️❤️❤️
Привет
Мне очень нравится твой канал, а это видео было особенно свежим и непохожим на видео других блоггеров.
