I remember watching this tutorial when it first came out and I didn't have C4D yet but wanted to get it. I've been a year with C4D now, roughly and I just picked up and am learning XP, and now here I am again. :) Thanks for creating and sharing this tutorial with us. A fun thing I did with it, was turn it dark purple and made a creep tumor in the center. Fun idea for anyone that likes StarCraft 2! :) Edit: One issue I ran into, was the Max limit for emission. You put it to 100 but I couldn't see it there in mine at all, anywhere, so I had to make some adjustments. I ended up doing a Shot for emission and lowered that number, plus the branches really low. I think roughly around 10 and 30'ish, respectively.
You are such a great teacher! Clear, eloquent, straight to the point and enthusiastic.. Thank you so much for sharing what you know here... you have helped me more than I can say
Will do, thanks mate;) BTW we have an awesome new Facebook Group of artists now too if you'd like to get involved, you can ask questions, post your work, get free stuff and enter our CG challenges - there's one on right now! It's Facebook.com/groups/cgshortcuts Thanks for watching!
I thought I saw that that's dope!! I wasn't too sure, was this rendered with standard or physical or did you use another engine? I've went full Octane the past year I could never achieve results like that in standard or physical found it a big hassle, Not a problem. Enjoyed it a lot! :)
Great question! Any chance you could post your question on our Facebook Group and one of our community members can give you a hand;) If you could post some screenshots of your issue too that would be super helpful! I'm using the newest x-particles version and I can't find the option to set the max. particle amount. Do you know if they moved this option somewhere else?

Here a setup I have been struggling with. I tried a few different ways, see below: 1) I have particles moving over a mesh, constraint with follow surface and leaving spline trails 2) Eventually I want to animate the mesh underneath, a talking and moving character, but I want to stick the trails to the mesh while the trails are being created an while the character is moving around. - Problem is it needs to be procedural not happen after the splines are all created.
Hi there, probably a bit hard to explain that setup here in the comments, but you could try posting your question up on our Facebook Group and someone in our community can probably help you out - facebook.com/groups/CGShortcuts
when you are applying the follow surface modifier it shows options like " control, motion spirite etc" but when i click on the modifier it doesn't show that option ? have you got any suggestions ? thanks
I think that might be the issue mate, I use version 3 in this tutorial so it might be a different process. Not sure if you can create the same effect. I don't have access to the older version but hopefully you can get it to work;)
Hi prakash, a lot of agencies use xparticles so it's definitely a good skill to have in your mograph arsenal, even if you just get the demo. But you're right, it's not that cheap, but it's pretty powerful

Ah Come on X Particles is very expensive which some of them can't afford it. 😣
Hi prakash, a lot of agencies use xparticles so it's definitely a good skill to have in your mograph arsenal, even if you just get the demo. But you're right, it's not that cheap, but it's pretty powerful
