- Always wanted to stay in an honest to goodness wild west hotel such as this, finally checked it off my list!
This wonderful hotel was built at the height of the Gold Rush in Northern California and has been open since!
I was curious if I could find some old gold rush ghosts, and things were a bit spooky.

Thank you for this video. My third great grandfather, Martin Tucker, was the original owner back in the 1850's of the American Exchange Hotel, as it was called. Tucker Hill Road was named for my ancestor.

You may be thinking of Sutter Home, which is a bit further west in Wine Country. About an hour or two away from here. I'm glad you enjoyed, it was fun!
there are several wineries in amador county that have excellent wines...some of the vines pre-date napa and other 'famous' regions...

Great place to stay and a really nice town. My wife and I stayed in room 300 that you talked about. We would love to go back and stay longer as we were just passing through for the night.
