Mahito is the mirror of humanity. He represents the evil essence of us, he has our worst flaws. Fear, cowardice, indifferent, apathetic, manipulative, etc. the fear of death and cowardice are clearly visible in this episode

Great reaction! Just a thing to note though, Sukuna does NOT like Yuji and would rather let him die than to help him. Same goes for Yuji. Yuji has stated that he would rather just die than to ever let Sukuna out willingly.
Its not like a Naruto situation where one needs the other. They both do not need eachother and hate eachother. If Yuji dies, Sukuna is fine since there are other fingers out there so he can just come back via someone else. He even told this to Yuji before.
So yeah just keep in mind they don’t have the usual trope of “the demon inside the MC comes out when he needs help”. Sukuna legitimately would watch Yuji die and be like “meh” while Yuji would actually rather die than to ever let Sukuna take over.

With Mahito's transformation we see that Gege is on the side of the villains of this story because he gives them all the power ups while he makes the sorcerers suffer.
I still can't get over what happened to Todo..... My eyes almost popped out when I saw that he lost an arm 👀😨
