They used to build those things right near where I lived in Hounslow in the 60s. We once saw one towing a two berth caravan along the A30 near Heathrow! The engine was screaming and the nosewheel kept lifting off the road! The look of astonishment form everyone that saw it was priceless!
Just had a right old giggle watching this! So glad events such as this allow vehicles like TWC to take part,I bet she put a smile on a lot of peoples' faces. Btw,your pal Rich still reminds me of Jesus. Amen.
"I'm being chased by a lawnmower. .. a police car... a spaceship... and a truck" = what Grandma says when she mistakenly doubles up on her blood pressure meds -
The trouble with a rear engined vehicle is that they cant hear you coming.... but they can you going..ahhhggggghhh, Im about to crash into a fly..ahhggggghhh
I nearly spat my tea! 'Your ride is sick' you repeating it! Bloody brilliant! Well done twc! Well done you mate. Glad you stepped up to no more tenting!
That looked like fantastic fun Ian! Small world: one of my neighbors in the small village in NW Spain where I live emigrated to the UK and worked for AC in the sixties and seventies... on the Invacar assembly line. He was really surprised when he found out that I knew what an Invacar was and how it looked like (nothing similar existed in Spain). I told him about TWC and your videos and he kind of scratched his head wondering about the whole idea!
Whenever you are in a Shepherds cabin, having wood, is advised. It's great to see the old friends! TWC, Bless her! - So good to see her, TMD and Davey (from an previous rich, police peppered adventure). TWC in action is always exciting to see and I'm usually on the edge of my seat! Fun Times!
Really LOVED this ! TWK is such a "sporting" little car, I just love your angle on things Ian. Never dreamed I'd meet such antics in anyone other than myself! Don't normally reveal this, but safely rode many Triumph and BSA motorcycles for years without incident. But a BMW Isetta landed me off work for 6 months and 50 years later I'm still carrying the surgical steel around !
Learned to drive at 6 years in my dads Invacar predecessor the Tippin (2stroke) in the late 60s and progressed to an Invicar but think it was badged as AC? ho, what fun thanks Ian for the memory and keeping TWC where it should be, on the road / track.
Last time I saw an Invacar on, or at least at the side, of the road was about thirty years ago in my home town. Something catastrophic must have happened to the engine, as it had caught fire and the body had completely melted. Thankfully the driver was unharmed.
Best ending, ever. Like SuperMario carts after two bottles of red wine, and thankfully the truck didn't manage to over-overtake anyone in front of it. Takes me back to 2014 when I last attended Retro Rides. There's a cracking pub called The Lion about 10 minutes away from The Hill - happy times.
Very good timing Ian. Today, I've show loads of people the pic of the invacars, and told them of your adventures. Shown a few clips of your London adventure to a few as well.
@@HubNut do you really make a decent wage from Hubnut with "only" 43K survivors? Some channels with way over double that amount claim they don't even make enough to cover basic expenses or for occasional camera upgrades, perhaps it's to do with the level of interaction but both cases can't be right surely.
Love the beginning of the video. What a beautiful landscape u live in!! Great fun seeing little reliable Tuk up the hills😃. Thanks for yet another great video.
And yet again, the totally mad (In a nice way) 'HubNut' had me in tears! Laugh? I thought my legs would go rusty! Brilliant, I only wish i had been there to actually witness this 'Once in a lifetime spectacle! Thank you!
Fan footage at the end made me laugh "I'm suprised that three wheeler got up there" it did, just, with combined TWC and Ian power. Looks a excellent show must put it in my diary for next year.
Brilliant... One week you're driving a 2CV called Ellie across Europe..... The next week you're doing a hill climb in an Invader being chased by a lawn mower and a space Jetsons thingy.. Great motoring channel Ian. Well sick. Love you're vids!!!!
Note - if driving up a hill seems agonizing slow, an easy thing to do is to look to the side. If you can see trees going past you for example then your mind can get a sense that you are actually moving.
Excellent video, nice to see TWC out for a gander, that 'your ride is sick' line , your in . I rewound to see if i could see the person but to no avail.. Best wishes, the road trip in Elly was epic, next year...'TWC drives to Brazil' or the Falklands even..
Not sure why I never saw this video when it came out nearly 2 years ago, but glad I did now! I'm sure Betty would be a lot more fun up that hill, although she'd probably consume more petrol doing it than TWC did on the entire journey 🤣
She has done very well going uphill even though she was slow she beat the lawnmower. great fun as always from you Ian. I've shared this on my facebook site. Keep them coming to Ian, please.
I wonder if it’s not about the right time for a modernized version of the invacar, perhaps with a modest small hybrid drive and regenerative braking system and far stronger and impact absorbing composite body. Cheap to own and run. It really was an idea that was so forward thinking. Also love the yellow vauxhall firenza parked just behind tuk, I had a firenza like that one with a ohc 1600 that was replaced with a ohc 2000 from my dads add VX490 with a 2 stage overdrive gearbox when the original dropped a valve.
Great coverage, Ian.Two HUGE no-nos at car events though......1 - Never hit another car in the show.....2 - Never lean on another persons car! NO TOUCHING!!! (or is that just me?) :)
That hill-climb scene was epic! Looked like some sort of "Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" chase scene--on a budget (tho that police car and the "space-car" must've cost something)! Enjoyed seeing the car show as well; surprised at the representation of American "iron" in that crowd!
Hi Ian,what a brilliant video,it was cool to see TWC made up the hill there, the videos done by people recording you go up was fun to see,I would take Foxanne there next year.
Really impressed with the video and audio while driving in TWC - not too much rattling around, quality sound and nice clear video of the road ahead. 👍🏻 Worth remembering that TWC had real problems with hills not so long back - but not any more! 😁
oh man, all you needed was the wacky races theme and the ppl doing it to be replaced by these nutters! i love it, this needs to be a yearly thing more oddy things going up there
That was fun! Pity you can't get the owner of TWC's sister car to come to some of these events and give you some fun competition. I think the only cure for people not hearing you coming at these events is an easily swappable sports exhaust (if such a thing exists). I love the Jetsons car! Smiling all the way. Cheers.
The guys at Elmsleigh Invacar would be proud. I thought you were going to get pulled over for speeding in a three wheeler when I heard the sirens going up the hill.

" I'm being chased by a lawnmower" .. a police car, a spaceship and a truck.... If only Formula 1 was as exciting as this..!
All that cracked me up, the police car chasing the lawnmower
And passed by the ride on mower, ha ha.
"I'm being chased by a lawnmower. .. a police car... a spaceship... and a truck" = what Grandma says when she mistakenly doubles up on her blood pressure meds -
It needed a commentary by a Murray Walker impersonator.
Couldnt have put it better myself
“I won’t be filming dinner.This isn’t Facebook”😂😂😂
Certainly a Wacky Races feel to this one! Great fun, thanks!
LOL! TFF!!
The trouble with a rear engined vehicle is that they cant hear you coming.... but they can you going..ahhhggggghhh, Im about to crash into a fly..ahhggggghhh
Ian your living the dream cars travel and repairing your amazing cars keep the great videos coming 👍
TWC and the mighty Dacia 👍🏻 Not to forget Rich too. A nice nostalgic return Ian 😃
"I'm surprised that three-wheeler got up there..." Cheeky bugger, TWC always gets there... Eventually...
TWC will always be special to me, reminds me of my Uncle who had one, nice to see her moseying on up the hill sounding all healthy again.
That big man driving that toy 😂 The clear winner!
Those indellible words will be tattooed in your brain forever," Im being chased by a lawnmower ", Fantastic Ian.Well done TWC :)
I nearly spat my tea! 'Your ride is sick' you repeating it! Bloody brilliant! Well done twc! Well done you mate. Glad you stepped up to no more tenting!
Blimey the Fast and Furious franchise team will be on to this - Invacar, lawnmower and NYPD chase scene...
Great to see TWC back in action again.
Again Hubnut provides another fantastic video "Thank you " Ian 🙌
Can't believe i've just watched an Invacar being chased by a lawn mower up a hill climb.... How wonderfully insane. Subscribed!!
That looked like fantastic fun Ian! (Did I get that chaps name right?)
An absolute laugh watching the live action adaption of Wacky Races.
Excellent stuff as always Mr (Hut) Nut. Also, well done Twc!
I would love to see you try to get Twc up the Horseshoe Pass near LLangollan. That would be really interesting.
Play it back at 2x speed and listen to the Benny Hill music. Very funny!
Really LOVED this ! TWK is such a "sporting" little car, I just love your angle on things Ian. Never dreamed I'd meet such antics in anyone other than myself! You pulled with that sick ride man! lol
What a little star TWC is indeed. Hope her little 'nudge' hasn't caused any damage! Loved the Early Learning Centre dragster as well.
It's nice to see Rich and the Mighty Dacia again.

Looks like big fun. What a nice little car, it puts a smile on my face. I want one too. :)
Well done Ian and tuc.
‘Hubnut! No longer sponsored by Lancaster insurance!’
FREEDOM! (though very grateful to Lancaster, as they helped support HubNut as it made the transition to full-time).
They're chasing the glamour, gone to Steph and her Morris Minor, it's a cruel sexist world.

It does depend on your definition of decent. With no children and only crap cars, my outgoings are not massive.
Also, income is more video based than subs based. I post a LOT.
Awesome. I think TWC is my favourite of the Hubnut fleet, great to see her out again. Excellent to see Mr Hubnut looking refreshed as well
beautiful lovely delightful dear tuk & ian hubnut. nice to see you back home and already off on new adventures.
That Cozy Coupe hotrod is a little treasure.
Love the beginning of the video. What a beautiful landscape u live in!! Great fun seeing little reliable Tuk up the hills😃. Thanks for yet another great video.
...downhill's fine! Classic HubNut!
What a convoy that was! Congrats TWC.
Brilliant video, I recall in the 1960’s looking at the tucks rear sloping window and thinking the design was taken from the Ford Anglia! 😎
And yet again, the totally mad (In a nice way) 'HubNut' had me in tears! Laugh? I thought my legs would go rusty!
Brilliant, I only wish i had been there to actually witness this 'Once in a lifetime spectacle! Thank you!
Always love seeing the adventures of TWC. Always fun and makes everyone smile! 😁👍
Well done, twc . Considering she was only really designed for a tootle into town, she did really well going up a huge hill.
Very eccentric and makes wonderful viewing!
Excellent video and little TWC achieved the goal well done
"it's good to be back in tuk".....i havent heard that since my last visit to thailand
Tuk looked so sweet climbing the hill
Plucky TWC and Inimitable Ian, two icons of the British Isles. Well done, sir. 👍👍
17:05 Okay, I NEED to see more of that vehicular masterpiece
Well done TWC 👍 Nice to see Rich and the Mighty Dacia.
Fan footage at the end made me laugh "I'm suprised that three wheeler got up there" it did, just, with combined TWC and Ian power. Looks a excellent show must put it in my diary for next year.
Its nice to have a change from Elly and see TWC on the road and its great to see the Mighty Dacia too
Your ride is sick !
Brilliant... One week you're driving a 2CV called Ellie across Europe..... The next week you're doing a hill climb in an Invader being chased by a lawn mower and a space Jetsons thingy.. Great motoring channel Ian. Well sick. Love you're vids!!!!
Could you do drive the invacar up Louis Walsh, id love to see it, or something much bigger if you can arrange it, bonus points for cowell too
Looked like a great event. Thanks for sharing it. Be well!
Wacky Races Brilliant :) Was waiting for Penelope Pitt stop and the Ant Hill Mob haha. Tuk sounds very smooth at the min.
Was lovely to chat to you again Ian! I knew TWC would make it! :)
Great fun Ian, enjoyed the video 👍👍
TWC running great.
Highly enjoyable.
Very good. You certainly get to some interesting stuff. I hope you film the actual rally.
Terrific video Mr HubNut, TWC is a little treasure, only just noticed the flared rear wheelarches!
Note - if driving up a hill seems agonizing slow, an easy thing to do is to look to the side. If you can see trees going past you for example then your mind can get a sense that you are actually moving.

Good old Tuk, a huge congrats to her, she did well, not lighting fast, but did it nonetheless, definitely good to see her back out and about.
These "Retro" events seem like major fun !
I wonder if it’s not about the right time for a modernized version of the invacar, perhaps with a modest small hybrid drive and regenerative braking system and far stronger and impact absorbing composite body. Cheap to own and run. It really was an idea that was so forward thinking. Is it bad that I was shouting at the screen willing Tuk to make it? 😁 woohoo!
That was the funniest ( and probably the most interesting and diverse) hill climb line up ever!
Absolute quality😂😂
I'm a German car fan and like your videos so much. Always interesting topics, nicely filmed with good comments. Keep it up!
Amazing, was really hoping this was coming, cheers very much!
Great coverage, Ian.Two HUGE no-nos at car events though......1 - Never hit another car in the show.....2 - Never lean on another persons car! NO TOUCHING!!! (or is that just me?) :)
I'm the same Paul, if I see someone leaning on mine I have a silent scream that lasts until they go 😱
Thought the same, some monkeyass dude hanging on my car would incur the wrath.
The ride quality of that thing is just hilarious
Great to see little TWC back . I'd love a channel 'The daily adventures of TWC " I just can't get enough TWC what a little tryer. Brilliant 👍
It's always good to see Rich, great video, Love the skilled Mini Marshal
Loved the video Ian. Never has so much fun been had in what was supposed to be an unspectacular car. Hopefully see you at 1000 Classics.
@1:33 Your forward planning is epic. You're a great driver. Welcome home Ian!
Well done Ian and TWK, and you managed to pull as well. Your ride is most definitely sick! 😂😂😂
Great fun. Thanks for sharing.
Well done TWC! Have a well earned rest little one...
and Hello Foxanne...
Gotta love a 4 wheel Reliant, the Kitten was great too.
Peace
Charlie 🇬🇧
Yay! The Mighty Rich! Good to see him and the Dacia again!
That looks like a properly fun day
That hill-climb scene was epic! Looked like some sort of "Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" chase scene--on a budget (tho that police car and the "space-car" must've cost something)! Enjoyed seeing the car show as well; surprised at the representation of American "iron" in that crowd!
Your ride is indeed "sick", yo. You sir, are a legend!
That was simply brill ... in fact bordering on sick ... 👍
aw TWC what a darling
Hi Ian,what a brilliant video,it was cool to see TWC made up the hill there, the videos done by people recording you go up was fun to see,I would take Foxanne there next year.
I love that bubble top!
Bonkers but utterly brilliant!!
09:30 Arriving at Shelsley Walsh.
13:00 Start of hill climb.
Really impressed with the video and audio while driving in TWC - not too much rattling around, quality sound and nice clear video of the road ahead. 👍🏻 Worth remembering that TWC had real problems with hills not so long back - but not any more! 😁
Brilliant episode, loved it.
Time for another shearing session!
oh man, all you needed was the wacky races theme and the ppl doing it to be replaced by these nutters! i love it, this needs to be a yearly thing more oddy things going up there
Great show ian . Congrats on achieving the hill climb with twc great to watch u . All the best ian frm ian
Oh excellent! Well done! Still a brave man than I, for driving her let alone up that hill! :)
That was fun! Pity you can't get the owner of TWC's sister car to come to some of these events and give you some fun competition. I think the only cure for people not hearing you coming at these events is an easily swappable sports exhaust (if such a thing exists). I love the Jetsons car! Smiling all the way. Cheers.
the little lawnmower was following me as fast as he could go cut cut 😁😁😁.
The guys at Elmsleigh Invacar would be proud. I thought you were going to get pulled over for speeding in a three wheeler when I heard the sirens going up the hill.
