Mechanical Bell! NS 219 Eastbound in Ellery, IL - February 20, 2024

For as long as I can remember, I have loved railroad crossings and the variations of different bells each crossing has. In Southern Illinois, on Norfolk Southern's Southern West District between St. Louis & Princeton, Indiana, there are only a handful of railroad crossings that still retain an old mechanical bell, such as this one in the village of Ellery. In this video, we will see NS 219 passing through the sleepy town just before the sun sets below the horizon.
