“They call it traditional, but what it’s really called is insecurity.” Thank you for calling that out. I’m not sure when you recorded this, but that’s such a powerful statement right now. I haven’t finished the video yet, but I just had to pause and say thanks!
Even if he (and others like him) got a "traditional" woman who was completely submissive, he'd have abused her. The foundation of their mindset is abusive, so they're really angry not because women aren't "traditional" but because they can't easily find a woman willing to submit to their abuse. It never, never, never, NEVER fails. When women were/are "in the kitchen," they're still treated badly and those men still fail in life. The only difference is that they have someone to take their frustrations out on.
Way back, when I was in my high school, we would have a moment of silence and wore white ribbons in memory of the innocent women who were murdered that day. I am very thankful you decided to shed light on this tragic incident as it is one that hasn't been covered very much and your videos are always so well put together. I appreciate you. :)
We still have it here. I don't know where you are from but they talked about it alot this year. I remember that day quite vividly because it very rare that a school shooting happen here and it was almost unbelievable. The police were very confused and the news came out very slowly and bit by bit. At the start, they didn't know what happened. They announced a special police operation then a bombing and the day after they say what happened. And a couple of days after they disclosed the heinous purpose of the crime.
@@scottmiller7001 I've read your comment over and over again and still I can't make sense of it. The "... Women." part is so very confusing. If you care to, do you mind elaborating a bit more for me?
That still goes on to this day. We still wear those ribbons. Most wear them for the week that the day of the massacre took place. However, it's not so uncommon to see students wear them just for the day or two days if the 6th of the month falls on a weekend.
Born and raised in Montreal, this was a truly horrific event. It raised my anxiety level just listening to this retelling. This event is still marked each year in government - a time of reflection and hopefully of preventative action.
This tragedy has created a whole industry of people that live of the government while lobying against firearms in Canada , for 30 they've been taking money in and made a nice career out of it
@@globalwarmhugs7741 well at the very least, we can all agree that he was a total piece of shit that did nothing but make things worse for everyone he affected.
Hi, you probably won't read this, but two shootings I've always thought were super tragic, and literally NEVER talked about are, The 2015 tunisia shooting, which killed over 38 people, and happened at a beach. And the Istanbul 2017 nightclub shooting which killed almost 40 people. Both of these shootings are almost never talked about, despite how many lives were lost in them. Regardless, all shootings are always tragic, but I thought I'd share these to bring some awareness to them, RIP.
I've seen the history of school shootings and not 1 counrty cones remotely vise to the states with a staggering 288 since 2001most country's are roughly 2

@@fgoogleinthea7475 Very annoying when people feel the need to comment things like that. A story of a car accident could happen and someone like @melz would comment: "I was on the other side of the country. Made dinner and fell asleep. Thanks for covering this story."
Thank you for presenting this episode. I'm 55 years of age and lived in Montreal from birth to 30 and clearly recall this evening. My apartment window faced West and I could see Mount Royal, the general location of Polytech. When at 6:00 pm the news came on and described the horror of this multiple shooting it was -20 degrees celcius out there and I opened my patio door to look at the mountain. It felt eerie to just visualize the enormity of this massacre, all for gender jealousy. Marc Lépine read comic books in his childhood and became convinced of the messages some characters portrayed in these children's books up to the point of feeling a sense of vengeance toward others whom he felt or believed were his enemies or competition. He never accepted himself for not being Québecois-native and thus changed his name to Lépine from his original North-African decent, as he was mixed and could not accept it. His mother was shunned for years after this and I'm very sorry for that as she had nothing to do with this.
@@doomguy510 I’m sure you can find a safe space somewhere else on RUclips. But this guy has been doing great work. He deserves a compliment. Look forward to your next video though.
Lack of maternal affection + toxic modelling of masculinity from his father probably resulted in him cultivating these harmful beliefs which eventually consumed his life and many others :( I'm really sad to hear about the suicides and deaths of despair experienced by his family - they shouldn't be blamed for what he did because blood is not everything....
A lot of press clowns and journalists started blaming the men for “not stopping it”, of course how will they stop a guy running around with a semi auto full power rifle is beyond me … This unfortunately and unsurprisingly ended up with people killing themselves for something they could have never stopped.

I was born in Montreal and lived there until 2014. I remember vividly this tragedy and travesty. Couple years after Marc Lépine, my neighbour Prof. Valery Fabrikant shot and killed 4 other professors at Concordia University. Three of them were engineers like Fabrikant--but the other one was not--he was my professor in environmental chemistry. Rough period in Montreal then

There is a part of Atlanta called Buckhead. There is a traveling business called "Buckhead Betties" where they come to a locatoin for a week or so and sell bags and home goods, most of which have matching patterns. A friend of mine would call it "Bucket Head Betties" and I never corrected her. Now she is not my friend.....
I've always had a theory about this guy, Marc Lepine. I believe his mind was poisoned against women by his father. Of course, his father grew up and lived in a completely different culture and failed to adapt. He passed his feelings about women onto his son. Even though I'm sure he loved his mother, Marc more than likely felt his father was right about "working women". This entire story is so completely frustrating. When he had purchased his Ruger, the guy at the sporting goods store had asked him what he was hunting and Marc had cryptically replied "Just small game." It makes me shudder when I even think of this guy, even though I believe his story is a very complicated one.
I wondered where the father slunk off to at the time. An excessively brutal man even for his cultural roots. I read he beat his son so badly, he bled from his ears and eyes. .. probably causing brain damage. His father should be on the list of Monsters.

I was raised by my grandfather, who was born in 1915 and a ww2 veteran and who was captured by the Soviet, send to a working camp and escaped and Despite the world being very different when he was young, he raised me and told me that all humans, regardless of the gender, were to be respected even if he my grandma fought all the times. That guy, Marc Lepine was searching for someone to let his rage on. He was enraged and mad.

Yeah, sadly a lot of mass shootings are forgotten through time, that's why channels like this one are good to tell the story, so the victims aren't forgotten too.
the first time i ever watched a video about this man (a few years ago), the comments section haunted me - it was half full of people praising Lépine for his actions and agreeing that his massacre of these women was justified for their "undermining family values" and other kinds of nonsense. Killed just for pursuing an education... I hope those guys were trolls, but the way they argued with people in the threads made their views feel very sincere. I haven't watched a video about it since then, till now. It's a relief that TIM is calling him out for what he was; a monster. It's just so sad to me that somehow he's managed to brainwash his own little community of monsters.
This comment section is also filled with men openly expressing hate toward women. It's incredible, even when faced with an extreme example of violent misogyny, misogynists just double down.
It’s extremely disturbing knowing so many people have praise Lépine’s actions, that he was somehow justified in taking these women’s lives purely because they wanted to pursue an education, for wanting to pursue a career, for “undermining family values”. Praised for killing women, women who’s existence threatened Lépine and made him highly insecure because these women were successful, they had successful educations, successful careers, were liked by their peers, and he somehow blamed these women for his own failings… and people praised his actions. What’s even worse? Going through the comments section and seeing some men post: •“Sounds based” - Alastor, 5th July •“A lot of good points made in his suicide note” - C B, 3rd July (who also complains a lot about TIMs video style) •“Modern feminism is cancer”, Geek UBS 2nd July (apparently feminists fighting hard to maintain their rights are cancerous?) •“He’s not completely wrong about feminists” Anitaknow, 2nd July (just WTF) •”Stop the moral commentary. Just present the facts”, F Google in the A, 2nd July (god forbid TIM openly supports women’s rights) •”Why did your shoot those 2 men :(“, and “it’s not wrong to say women are inferior to men. It’s the truth”, both by Akash Sharma, 2nd July •”Women have no business working jobs that require strength, he was right about the army”, Ryan Corcoran, 1st July •”Keep treating men like shit and act surprised when people get killed”, PNWLF3, 1st July This sadly only goes on I just do not understand how you could watch this video of an insecure man who was deeply misogynistic and agree with his extremely views towards women in a congratulatory manner. That’s what’s truly terrifying, knowing insecure men watch this video and somehow think a disgusting, sexist, hateful man’s views are agreeable and his actions somewhat justifiable.
The proto-incel. All the hallmarks are there, yeah. The faux-intellectualism with his (apparent) surface knowledge of various historical things, the status as loner, the perpetual victimhood and conspiracy thinking, and of course the hatred of women.

I was a young mum,, my son of 9 years old at the time of this horrific slaughter, the local news broadcasting that which was very hard to believe in its reporting. I was in Night School at the time working on my GED and at break the “ rumour mill “ was buzzing but it was only when I got home that our local news was reporting from the many police car blue and red “ scene. “ I was finding it hard to breathe with tears streaming ,afraid as shivers and goosebumps would not let sleep that night. I remember it well as the daily updates went forward and My Montreal, my home, went into Great Mass Mourning. I quit Night School that year because thoughts of “ being in the open “ terrified me to my core and I decided spending more time with my son would sooth me and it did, so I was right to do so even though the weekdays while he was at school I found myself overly nervous at my work and took a lot of time off. The funerals of the innocent women came and went, some of family interviews were televised, it all was gut- wrenching and a gut punch to women, women everywhere. You would be hard pressed to find any woman of my age today in Montreal that still doesn’t feel the painful effects of what Marc Lépine’s sordid, deranged, calculated self - logic upon that horrific afternoon at École Polytechnique. I want to thank you for your sharing of this true happening on December 6th of 1989, it 1991, the Parliament of Canada declared the 6th of December a “ National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women, we know it as “ White Ribbon Day.,“ thank you for also remembering Sarto Biais as we here in Montreal know was also an innocent victim stolen by Lépine. Lepine ‘s mother has become a Key - Note Speaker at many venues and still does not understand why her son did what he did, and that she lives with much guilt of which I am certain. The “ rippled effect “ of that cemented time flows sadly on as I felt the familiarized pangs of a yesteryear come back into focus as you did this podcast. I leave you with this the very iwords of Monique Lepine , “ I don’t have all the answers, ( noting that men can have more trouble talking about their emotions ) if you didn’t solve your emotional problems when it was time, eventually your growing, your an adult, but emotionally, your still at the age of your wound. “ 🇨🇦
Everyone who are about your age remember this clearly. What I remember is that the news, at the radio at least, were very confused and didn't know what happened. It was quite long before they talked about the details of that shooting. We didn't know all the details until the next day. I was in my car driving from my workplace when it happened.

I did end up enrolling in civil engineering there the following August and got my degree in 1995. Each December 6th, we remember all the victims even after all these years.
To say that Marc Lepine hated women is a severe understatement. Marc Lepine’s attitude towards women was one of pure rage and evil! As a man with a wife, a daughter, and a sister it truly terrifies me that there are criminals out there like Marc Lepine.
These useless creatures who believed "life brings me no joy" should have taken himself out. Which man?!! I remember seeing an image from this massacre. I think it was in the cafeteria, there was a woman taking down a banner and there was another woman sitting in a chair but she was dead, slumped over to the side.
I remember that picture very well. The woman in the chair had long hair which was draped down behind her. Today's media would never publish that picture as they did back then.
As a Canadian, I never heard of this until I watch the movie about this tragedy back in 2011 or 2012, I can't imagine how scare everyone was. The movie didn't sugar-coat what happens. After watching it I looked it up the tragic, those poor students.

This happened on my ex's birthday. And from that day to today they're pissed that their "birthday is forever ruined" by memorials to it. Yes, there's a reason they're an ex.
Wow this one was particularly disturbing with the almost "domino" effect suicides that occurred after the event. And , although I hate to bring politics into the comment section, HOWEVER my brain couldn't help but make a connection to the fact that the origin of this guy's rage and displaced anger stemmed from his father's belief that women should be granted very little rights in this world...and my mind immediately jumped to thinking about how our rights as women are not only being questioned, but are actually being taken from us.😢 These are scary times. and I'm sorry if I've offended anyone as that wasn't my intention
Yes, autogynephelia in sports is just the tip of the iceberg. Yet you might consider radical feminism, to be partially influencing this growing trend. Particularly in infants to adolescents. This guy would probably be diagnosed with gender dysphoria/autogynephelia today.

Can’t think of anything worse than having to live with the guilt of thinking you could have stopped the massacre … even though logically it was probably impossible for them to have stopped it. Edit: becomes even worse when you realise how the press scapegoated others for not stopping the massacre, good job you have blood in your hands.

Yes, same in Ontario. I was visiting friends in Montreal at the time of this tragedy. It seemed unbelievable at the time. I'm glad the memorial is held every year, we should remember the victims, and also the victims that died due to the ripple effect.
Indeed it does not justifies mass murder, but it is an interesting point to be made: if women think they are equal to men, why they do not compete with men in the Olympics?
What a monster. Another example of an evil person trying to wipe out the good around him. By the way, the phrase is "alea iacta est" for "the die is cast".
Every dude who commits mass hissy-fit leaves the same fucking letter: "Boo-hoo-hoo, A huge group of people made a concerted effort to make me look like I'm useless and suck at life." They put more effort into their weaponized tantrum and letter full of excuses, than they put into fixing themselves.
@Ratio elliot rodgers was an insecure manchild who despised women for not dating him despite never asking one out. Then he tried to kill a bunch of women and failed miserably. He is a complete loser and idolizing him is for dorks
I'm glad that the Polytechnique Massacre is being discussed outside of Canada. Speaking as a Canadian myself, what happened at this school still has a huge impact on Canadians overall. It even led to massive reform and stricter gun laws. I know schools (universities and colleges) where the week that December 6th falls on is dedicated to commemoration ceremonies and teaching students about the fight for women's rights... they also had days where speakers would come in to talk about violence against women- and the suppression of women's rights.

All the women wanted to do was better themselves, and as usual, some sick, deranged male ruins everything. I worked for 5 years with all males, doing a very physically demanding job. There were always a couple,at least, hassling me for absolutely NOTHING other than I was a woman. What is wrong with them. I struggle to have good feelings toward them as a whole, but with all this violence against women by them, it's near impossible for me. Im glad im old now and don't have to deal with them.

Some individuals who believe women only belong at home barefoot & pregnant need help, yet those who choose to have mom stay home with kids aren’t wrong for doing so. Some women choose to pause their careers to raise their kids and no one has a right to tell them they’re wrong just as no one has a right to judge women who choose having a career over a family. I found the way you addressed this to be divisive and an example of what’s wrong with so much of our culture these days. Everyone has the right to live as they see fit. It’s called freedom.
My mom was working as an ER nurse when this happened, she still remembers the chaos as everyone ran down the hill and into the hospital and the victims being brought in. It's just hollow virtue signalling for attention. Cringey.

When he had purchased his Ruger, the guy at the sporting goods store had asked him what he was hunting and Marc had cryptically replied "Just small game." It makes me shudder when I even think of this guy, even though I believe his story is a very complicated one.

the first time i ever watched a video about this man (a few years ago), the comments section haunted me - it was half full of people praising Lépine for his actions and agreeing that his massacre of these women was justified for their "undermining family values" and other kinds of nonsense.

Praised for killing women, women who’s existence threatened Lépine and made him highly insecure because these women were successful, they had successful educations, successful careers, were liked by their peers, and he somehow blamed these women for his own failings… and people praised his actions.

@@lisamac1986 Absolutely not. Transgenders I've known, I can have fun with in a pub or club. If a child's Doctor's prognosis is puberty blockers, then possible surgery I am passionately against this. I've never met a transgender woman or man who isn't. It's proselytism is harming the vulnerable.
Incels aren't a new problem, we have been dealing with misogynistic men committing mass shootings since rapid firing weapons have been available to the masses.
This guy was more pathetic than usual though.
Can’t think of anything worse than having to live with the guilt of thinking you could have stopped the massacre … even though logically it was probably impossible for them to have stopped it.
Edit: becomes even worse when you realise how the press scapegoated others for not stopping the massacre, good job you have blood in your hands.
Ammar Hasan If you believe this to be like that, look up Valerie Fabricant. He was a University Proffessor who went of a shooting rampage in Montreal a few years after Lepine and he was paranoid too
Thank you so much for covering this properly, I’m from Montreal and I remember when this happened and we started hearing about it on the news, it was so shocking and heartbreaking.
Yes, same in Ontario.
I was visiting friends in Montreal at the time of this tragedy. It seemed unbelievable at the time.
I'm glad the memorial is held every year, we should remember the victims, and also the victims that died due to the ripple effect.
Women not competing with men in the Olympics justifying mass murder is definitely a new one to me.
Indeed it does not justifies mass murder, but it is an interesting point to be made: if women think they are equal to men, why they do not compete with men in the Olympics?
Police delay often costs lives
What a monster. Another example of an evil person trying to wipe out the good around him.
By the way, the phrase is "alea iacta est" for "the die is cast".
He's not a monster. He's a hero to MANkind. We need to bring him back to live.
@@Reeeeeee12345u sound like a little virgin incel to me buddy
I can't believe I've never heard of this case before! Wow
_"And yet, when women say they are afraid of men, the men ask why..."_
They know why. It just hurts their fee fees that women are scared of being abused or raped. Wont someone think of the men? 😢
IF EVERYTHING WAS DONE UPON THEM ( men ) FROM HUMILIATION TO CONTROL Would be the most important vision I can ever imagine happing here
@Ratio did u rly just facepalm at the idea of women being afraid of men when ur an elliot rodgers fanboy lmfaooo
@Ratio when did i act tough. Yeah man watch out gonna punch u thru the screen
@Ratio elliot rodgers was an insecure manchild who despised women for not dating him despite never asking one out. Then he tried to kill a bunch of women and failed miserably. He is a complete loser and idolizing him is for dorks
Its sad that every year across Canada we take time to remember this. The horror and the fear, the sadness and loss, thank you for posting.
My cousin was on the campus when it occurred. Cops hid in the bushes while Lepine was still in his killing spree.
Bruh reading that manifesto is terrifying you can tell he’s completely insane
I'm glad that the Polytechnique Massacre is being discussed outside of Canada. Speaking as a Canadian myself, what happened at this school still has a huge impact on Canadians overall. It even led to massive reform and stricter gun laws. I know schools (universities and colleges) where the week that December 6th falls on is dedicated to commemoration ceremonies and teaching students about the fight for women's rights... they also had days where speakers would come in to talk about violence against women- and the suppression of women's rights.
How any adult can be cruel to children is beyond me. Unfortunately there is as much evil as good in society.
Thanks for your hard work, man. This is great content.
You could do a whole season on School Shooters alone. Since Columbine (1999) there hasn’t been a year without one. I love these videos.
Sounds based to me.
You're a loser though so ofc youd think this :D
Facts
Here, we see a gathering of the three subjects, all agreeing with the mass shooter's reasoning.
You have a unique crime channel. I say it's the best because of your commentaries. It's just an excellent piece of work every single time.
It's always the most lackluster men who attack women.
Based.Lets go scorched earth!
It still blows my mind that this is your real voice ! Appreciate your work! Kiaora from Aotearoa New Zealand
It's so scary how many every day men agree with this killer, that's why i choose to keep a distance with men.
Yes, there's a couple of them here in comments.
Misogyny is rampant.
@@margaretr5701 But let's not stop to figure out why, let's instead just call names and radicalize them even more. Great idea. 🙄

I sincerely hope he rots in hell... I live in Western Canada and I remember the horror I felt when this happened. Disgusting pos. I cannot imagine the fear they felt. May they all rest in peace.
What happened to the equally horrific father. ...
Poor mother lost both of her children and had to bear the guilt and shame of what her son did.
Yes, he was a pos, moulded by his father, not by the society he blamed.
Thank you for this one 🙏. This is a pretty significant one for Canadians. Hits home on so many levels. And of course I always love it when you share stories/cases from Canada (which is why I always suggest you do Robert Pickton)!
Pickton the scary pig farmer is covered elsewhere by another true crime channel.
I think he did cover Picton. A while back, but pretty sure he did.
I still remember this story...I cried whenever the CTV News was covering the story. It stayed with me... Good job on respectfully telling the story! 🤜🤛
Guy sounds like a real piece of sh*t. RIP to those he murdered and the secondary victims left behind. One whole family gone, torn apart by survivor's guilt and suicide. 💔😞
What sticks with me about most of these mass shooters, is that they usually off themselves in the end. What a bunch of effing cowards. You're so big and bad?? Then face what you've done! Stand up for yourself. Don't take the easy way out. Smh ...
Or just kill themselves, no need to take innocents with them.
I appreciate your style of narration. I think that you are very 🧠clever and I ❤️ love your sense of 😅 humor. I'm a big fan!
Me too, great sense of humour and timing, I could listen to him read the dictionary waiting for those sly and dry digs like "because that's what you do" etc
When I was in a band these women would be hypnotised standing in front of the stage. It was weird. Some women are only attracted to power.
Anyway, How ya'll ladies doing?
very brain clever
Aw love this comment. 100% agree, Teresa xo
"Hello, my name is Lisa Simpson. I'm supposed to talk to you about Proposition 305..." "Mooching war widows." - this guy
Wouldn't that mean you have the same attitude mark did, but towards men?
Some people aren't self aware.
😂😂
You are what's called a "Misandrist"
You're no better than misogynists like Lepine.
@@trustworthydanWomen can hate men as much as they want, they can't actually do anything
"Thus it is an obvious truth that if the Olympic games removed the Men-Women distinction, there would be women only in graceful events. So the feminists are not fighting to remove." This guy's head would be spinning today.
Dad carried the torch in the ‘76 summer Olympics hahaha
And he still didn't see the light(!) enough to be a good dad..
His actions made a whole family kill themselves. That's terrible
Just depraved.
You can see the differences between the men and women's comments 👀👀👀 thank God this is monsters and other men like my husband understand because the comments scare me a bit
There are far too many men with very fragile egos.
I appreciate what you do 🙏🏻
Thank you so much Sir❤️
I never heard of this. Thanks for bringing this to light. Very sad
Such a senseless act of violence by a horrible misogynist. Even now the school's security department is more extreme than others. Thank you for covering this story, I always find it extra interesting hearing about crimes in my province.
Fantastic as usual... Thanks Jiles! I couldn't sleep so I checked my alerts and there is This is Monsters, waiting for us all. You go well beyond in content arena. Thanks for that and Thanks for all you do! faithful from the start.
Never heard of this crime. Wow I finally found a unique case on RUclips 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
That’s what I love about this channel, he covers so many cases I’ve never heard of and if I have I find that he gives so much more details then others.
To hear that one of the survivors committed suicide and then his parents did the same.....🙏🏽💔🕊
I forgot he shared the same birthday.
This was such a dark mark on my country.
Are you going to do Alex Minassian as well? Dark shit for sure.
Thank you for your stories, bringing compassion to the victims.
Thank you for doing this one. I’m a Montrealer and still remember the day this happened. Albeit, I was too young to fully understand what on Earth happened and why, it’s still seared in my mind. We never forget these women and their murders. We thought it would be the only one until the Dawson mass shooting happened. Once again, in Montreal. This is why I’m so happy that our gun laws are finally being changed, too late but better now than never. Hopefully Dawson College’s mass shooting will be our last in our history.
Nous vous oublierons jamais mesdames.
thank you for your videos. your voice is very calming. having a hard time and can’t really listen to anything without being distracted. you’re helping me a bit❤️
So, he can’t perform his job functions, complete his school prerequisites, get along with anyone, but he’s capable of completing the tasks to get a firearm, stage a shooting, write final letters and a massive suicide manifesto. I guess you have to have priorities…
.
Yes, to have priorities is usually important...
Wow, the original gamer.
That letter was so pathetic.
I was outside when this happened in my car. I got out of the parking lot as soon as I could
You know, I'm kind of surprised that all of the men agreed to leave the classroom and abandon all of those women alone with the shooter. I guess people were pretty naive about school shooters back then - I really hope that wouldn't happen these days.
