I love how the rats were mining the cheese like it was some kind of precious mineral
Everything about this level's theme was just genius XD
Yep:D
*my precious...*
gotta get that cheesy goodness
No mining, storage. In the past, cheeses were stored in caves for them to mature.
"Unimaginative level design"- Gamespot, 6/10
worst review i've seen
and bubsy 3D is 5/10 WHAT THE ACTUAL HELL
Like, I'll let you get away with saying the game is overly difficult or gets a lot of cheap hits (though I don't agree), but acting like it's uninspired? That's like, objectively incorrect!
Enemy Birds the biggest problem I have with the game is that the ground pound move and the roll are mapped to the same button, so if you’re holding forward just a little bit you’ll rapidly accelerate. This led to many deaths where I accidentally rolled off a platform into a pit. This might just be a me problem, but I see no reason why there can’t be an option to change the control scheme. It’s not huge problem, Tropical Freeze is still
an amazing game. At least a 9/10, would recommend to anyone who even remotely likes platformers.
Well these are the same people who thought NSMBW was for platforming veterans
Unpopular opinion:
I think the Rocket Barrel levels are some of the best and most fun in the game.
I agree
And they aren't very hard to beat
This opinion isnt unpopular i love all of them, such a thrill!
If hard= fun i agree
treu that!
The Incredibles and Ratatouille, David Wise did a great job remixing Mine Menace!
Yes he's a true musical genius being able to mix in those 2 films music into 1 stage and have sound amazing but also incredibles and ratatouille were composed by the same guy but that doesn't matter its still amazing
The original Flappy Bird.
I never got that game, but I could do better than my friends when I tried because of rocket barrels
*Jetpack Joyride
Nah, DKC Returns’s rocket barrel levels were the original Flappy Bird. You even die in one hit just like in FB!
@@chain_links did you forget *hard mode?*
But better
David Wise and Kenji Yamamoto have struck gold with this track.
No, they've struck cheese.
@@charlesqiu137 cheese rock
And I cant download it >:(
A wonderfully composed piece. As a French horn player I have a strong appreciation for the brass in this piece
I definitely appreciate that the folks behind Metroid Prime were able to come up with this track that fits so well into the series.
You can totally tell this is David Wise's arrangement. Very fun, with all the different instruments.
Actually, David Wise DID do this, David Wise Returns, baby!
At least someone apprecuates this. Most people just hated this game just because "it should have been metroid" as if they wouls buy a metroid game in the wii u aniways.
Rolling Cheese! Look out!
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
They remixed DKCR's Rocket Barrel Theme
And I love it
@JONATHAN PEREZ the last is Blurry Flurry, the ice cave (6-4
1:09 I absolutely love that screaming horn. Adds a kind of frantic and frenetic intensity to the song
Blurry flurry has a level 30 horn
Ratatouille Rocket Barrel!
it reminds me of ratatouille too!
probably because it has those french intruments that ratatoille had too idk
This Yamamoto theme really shines in David's hands. He added a little variation on the main theme that makes everything less repetitive and above all he wrote a much better bridge at 1:46 to repeat the loop from the beginning. The original version on DKCR had a weird one.
This music, and arguably every variation of this theme, sounds like it could be in a chase scene in The Incredibles. :D
In this case, a chase scene in Ratatouille... and what with it being the same director an' all...
@@gianni_hello remy on a rocket barrel while skinner, having highjacked mr.incredible's car is hauling ass in order to capture remy. around the end skinner gets kicked out or the car gets grabbed by the omnidroid
@@MrMoron-qn5rx Now that's a cross-over!! 🤣🤣
I. freaking. LOVE. this. track.
love the track, hate the mechanics.
Best version of the song imo.
Rayzen Mayher music is catchy. Stages are not remotely hard for me.
My 2nd fav theme of the whole game!
Reminds me of Tom & Jerry mixed with Ratatouille. :3
CHEESE! FOR EVERYONE!
The rocket barrel looks a little like Wallace and Gromit's Spaceship from a Grand Day Out. Not to mention, it is going through a cheese filled world.
you get some cheese! YOU get some cheese!
everyone gets some cheese!
but what about the people who are allergic to cheese?!?!?!
Sooooo.... Nobody got the reference?
*cough* Elder Scrolls *cough*
Ross Barron i did, i just also wanted to use that response about "WHAT IF THERE ALLERGIC?!?!?!"
People are saying this sounds like Ratatouille... I definitely agree, and the tune at the beginning sounds a bit like The Incredibles, too! David Wise sure likes his Pixar movies, huh? :D
He didn't compose this song, it's from Donkey Kong Country Returns
Oh... Yeah, I was playing DKCR the other day and I noticed this tune... Oh well, it still sounds kinda like The Incredibles! xD
***** No, I think Kenji Yamamoto did the Rocket Barrel themes for this game too because to me,they don't sound anything like David Wise compositions/covers ...although I could be wrong
Yeah, you're right. This song was in DKC Returns, which Wise had nothing to do with. This is simply a different arrangement.
This level is just chaos so much going on at once you're looking everywhere lol
ナイス五拍子!
リターンズからアレンジが加わり更にオシャレに!
難しいけど何回やり直しても苦にならない本当に爽快なBGMだ〜
One thing I love about this game is that the Rocket Barrel themes are similar, but have noticeable differences that usually fit the theming of the level
And all that jazz!
No one’s talking about how good the accordion is
*Someone* at Nintendo watched Ratatouille before making this...
(says it jokingly)
That's a great disclaimer! I've got to use that one.
Every Donkey Kong game has no business having an amazing soundtrack but god damn. Another reason why this and Rayman Legends are two of the best platformers ever... (in my opinion)
Bro I grew up with Rayman, it’s so diverse and ridiculous, but in a funny way, and I also grew up with Donkey Kong, best games that are 2D side scrollers out there (that ain’t Mario)
Funny, I was going to play Legends on the Wii U right after playing this
@@PTL3505 mario's 2D side-scrollers are nowhere near the quality of the donkey kong games. super mario world is arguable, but definitely not the rest.
Donkey Kong meet Sly Cooper or Ratatouille
One of the best themes I've heard ngl
Hearing this arrangement in the game was an unexpected pleasure. It gets a little weird around the end, but I enjoy the song.
If they ever make a Donkey Kong movie, they have to use this soundtrack
He was in the Mario movie, but I know, it would be cool for a donkey kong movie.
I didn't think this song was very good in DKCR, but man, what a difference a good arrangement can make, this version is amazing.
UNIMAGINATIVE LEVEL DESIGN BAYBEEEEEEEEEE!
Then: AMOGUS
NOW:Rudent RUCKUS
its so awsome that almost every leel has its own soundtrack
Everything fits so neatly! It really feels like Mine Menace was originally made for accordion!
The Rats mining Cheese. Amazing.
Oh, my gosh! They're even better and more varied than in Donkey Kong Country Returns! Glad to see this theme returning. :)
This tune is awesome! The composers must have had so much fun with this soundtrack. Would love to see the behind the scenes of these arrangements.
Trust David Wise to make a remix of a song inspired by Benny Goodman - Sing Sing Sing somehow feel even more reminiscent of the song that inspired it.
And the section starting at 1:03 could've easily had me fooled into thinking Grant Kirkhope co-wrote this song.
Make this a ride at Universal please
POV: Your driving at 70mph on the highway and ratatouille is playing on the car’s dvd player.
I actually find this track fitting for driving at night, don't know why
The second most intense rocket barrel song
Giant bat or giant cheese wheel…
Which is worse?
The music in this game is outstanding. A masterpiece. As are all Nintendo songs.
I could imagine this scenario:
Donkey and Diddy Kong go to Paris becuz they're fighting with a French final boss. In a scene they make the final boss angry, and they use the rocket barrel to fly through Paris and they make a mess. *THIS THEME PLAYS* (Do you know those cartoons where the villain is chasing the main characters, and by chasing them he makes a mess on the streets? Same thing)
1:31 That part is on my favorite Minor tonality
Mole Patrol: Monsters Inc.
Gear Getaway: The Incredibles
Rodent Ruckus: Ratatouille
Tropical Freeze needs more love...
Brings back so many memories!
Yeah, it definitely reminds me of Michael Giacchino's pixar scores.
This for some reason reminds me of Ratatouille. :3
Lol those were my thoughts exactly while playing this level. I like the new way that they do the loop of the rocket barrel music. In Returns I don't remember there being a loop. The music just kept on going o_o
GEE I WONDER WHY
COULD IT HAVE BEEN ALL THE RATS
Unoriginal Username It's actually the combination with the Accordion and the Rats.
Philip J.Fry II
Fair enough, lol. I was just giving you a hard time. :P
You give me a good time, bae. ;D
Dude DKC3 was eating with this game's OST
Sorry I meant GBA version, RIP all the Fischer songs
EPIC!!!!!
Yes, do you have Donkey Kong: Frozen Ape?
tell me cheese is *stronger than stone*
i mean what kind of cheese are the rats mining?
still pretty good ost
The one thing left in my nightmares is a giant roll of cheese coming at me.
You know, those rats don't seem associated with the Snowmads. They're just making cheese, and we're in the way. Do they even attack DK, or do they just focus on their cheese the entire time?
This is a bop
Still remains my favorite version of Mine Menace/Gear Getaway whatever the name is.
The accordion works well there
Eargasm when I recognized this theme!
Omg, the comments are from 5 years ago... I am playing Donkey Kong now, and I really love it, but wow, I didn't know that was from 2015, cause It's so good, my God, I am in 2020, Oopsies 😅
i love these types of songs they are awesome, i also love big band music and cheese
france anyone?
When you've made a freshly baked pizza 🍕 🍕.
THOSE DAMN RATS MESSING WITH MY CHESSE AGAIN!
Sounds like something out of a Touhou fighting game.
That's a really odd thing to say, but you're actually right. It does!
Now I'm imagining this song playing with Nazrin as the opponent. XD
I love iittt
This actually sounds like something from old DK2 or 3(I'm not sure) where your in K. Rool carnival and in a mine cart. At least the beginning of it.
All rocket barrel themes ranked:
7: Twilight Terror
6: Gear Getaway
5: Reckless Ride
4: Hot Rocket
3: Rodent Ruckus
2: Blurry Flurry
1: Mine Menace
Mole Patrol, Lift-Off Launch, Tiki Tong Terror?
bro this stage made me lost the most lives
*I HATE U ROCKET STAGES*
Kept waiting for a Neek to show up!
In my humble opinion, this is the weakest rocket barrel level but has the best music
*Rattatouille, só que é Donkey Kong*
Mine Menace might be better but this is great!
I hated these rocket barrel levels. This music is the only thing that made me wanna keep playing.
For people that like this song, it'll be in the new Smash Bros. Now, if we could only get K. Rool, or Punch Bowl.
hey we got k rool
I like how the song has some french-sounding accents.
POV:You are stealing some work of art from the Louvre Museum and playing car chase with the police
Diff music is amazing
I remember when playing dkcr and I thought you had to continuesly tap a to fly.
I didn't discover you could hold it until I played this game.
Seems like ratigan is on vacation to Paris,France for a heist on the rarest and tasty cheeses in the city?
1:15 sounds like cuphead, in the rugged run n gun
Cheese!
Awesome
I want this game so freakin much mang!
I hope to god that you have it by now. This game is incredible! I'd actually go so far to say that it's tied for the spot of my favourite Wii U game alongside Pikmin 3 and Sm4sh.
worldsboss Why wouldn't I?! XD
Mike Rashford Just checking ;D
worldsboss DK is one of the best games EVER!
I do too. I think it's been a year since I beat DKC Returns, now I want to play this.
You gotta wonder, do they keep cows to make the milk for the cheese in that cave?
Ratatouille, much?
I agree.
did u know just for saving this audio data u would need 3,5x of the save from one nes cardrich now u know why nes games never had that much music
I never been so scared of cheese!
0:40 favorite part!
Like cobI said this is a rem remake of ratatowI I love this ro cket berr level music
grammar sure is great
Did anyone else get really creeped out by the way the rats scurried in the dark?
I'm just here to say Nintendo hello when they're here to take this video down. Please answer me Nintendo so I can finish my mission.
One of the rats: Gentlemen? (Meet The Rat)
autumn heights gives me vibes European vibes
After playing through DKC3's Rocket Rush which I swear that the Rocket Barrel's control is even more awkward than DKCR & even DKCTF making it the absolute worst Donkey Kong Country level I've ever been through, I can safely say that Retro Studious does the Rocket Barrel controls better than what Rare did. Yes, the Rocket Barrel segments of DKCR & DKCTF is still awkward & hard, it's at least simple to control & at least memorable to me. I just need to make sure to have plenty of Crash Guards just to get through the level safely. But when it comes to completion like collectables, Hard Mode, & Time Attack, fuck no. Can't stand completion while doing Rocket Barrel levels.
ScReW The
Moon! NoW We aRe mIninG!!!!!!!
This is 1000 times better than the Smash bros version!
This sound like the Genie's song from Disney's old Alladin
Why didn't this make it into Smash Wii U/3DS or Ultimate
