It depends on the experience you want, obviously. I played WoW a month after it released and classic is faithful to that experience. although much easier to play than Everquest that came before it, it is much harder than Retail. It is slow, you will work your way up slowly and you will die. I had to do every quest in every zone on both continents to hit max level. Dungeons with other players is faster. In retail, the goal is to get you to max level and the latest content. So, you will level very quickly, constantly get new gear and skills before you figure out the old stuff. and skip over 2 decades of content that was changed and doesn't look like classic anymore anyway. You can live in the past on classic with the mechanics you come to know. Or the uncertainty that is the present in retail. Although they need to keep adding the old expansions, so I guess you move toward the present? Just a few steps behind.
It's very similar, you do have to make a new character for this but they are on the same server as your other characters, just your existing characters cannot access this and the new characters made for this can't be used outside of this event until it ends, at which point they will be converted to a regular character at the same level you got them up to.

Thanks for the feedback, I know my audio is a bit scuffed, is there a certain part of it in particular that I should focus on fixing first or is it just an overall quality thing?

I would say Classic with the Voiceover addon.
So this is seperate like Plunder? Do you have to level a new character?
