- Today we are sharing our daily training session that we do with our newborn draft horse filly, Bree!! Bree has been making a lot of training progress over the first few weeks of her life. Today she is getting a new halter and working on leading and being tied.
Watch our videos to learn about draft horses- horse logging, horse farming, and horse training! Jim uses Belgian, Percheron, and Suffolk horses to do work on the farm and in the woods. He teaches about harnesses, horse-drawn logging and farming equipment, horse feeding and maintenance, and voice commands for horses. New videos uploaded every week. Keep watching to see how Jim trains his new Suffolk Punch colts as he has trained his full-grown teams!

Oh my goodness! What a good little filly she is! Follows you without halter, and then lets you put the halter on like she's a 10 years old dressage horse. The 'fur' on her hooves is called Fairy Fingers in the UK. Princess Bree is incredibly cute--and beefy already, wow she is beautiful! At the end, after Jim takes off her halter, Bree stands by him and gives him kisses on his hand. Wow! She loves Jim already. And Lady looks SO beautiful and healthy with her gorgeous sleek coat with dapples! G-d bless your family, humans and animals 🥰😍💗🙏
Enjoy watching Jim work with the foal! His approach is great way to train Bree being very patient and gentle handling of her which will pay off in the long run!
I sure do love getting to see Bree! She is coming along so well with leading. And Jim is beginning to teach her commands. I heard him say "whoa" and she has already learned that means "stop"! She's a smart little rascal! And oh so beautiful!
Thank you for sharing. I enjoy seeing how Jim trains. Lady looks wonderful. Bree is precious.
The Process of Jim (and Brenda) training a horse (colt), at such a young age is really amazing and such a valuable video for folks learning. Nice process. The little one is amazing as the little personality starts to show.
Amazing how Lady eating yet aware, momma growl as the little one gets too far away outside. Hope you can get some good rest Sunday as summer shifts into full gear. Thanks, what a little cutie :-)
Bree is a little filly ❤
Love that new halter! Fit so much better than the last one, and as it's adjustable you won't have to replace it too soon. Also, less important, but I love that dark green color with her golden coat color. She's just beautiful, much like her mother.
Hello 👋 how are you doing today??
Lady looks years younger since having Bree. Motherhood has been good for her, and she's a very good Mom! 😊
Hello 👋 how are you doing today??

I think she is getting plenty of milk! She is growing so much!
Superb. I loved how Jim took the halter off and Bree stayed very close to him showing trust and contentment. She's really growing!
So much fun to watch her training. She's doing very good. I gotta say i get a kick out of her little stubborn streaks lol. What a precious little girl. 💖💜💖

I got caught seeking a quick view of Bree and Jim. My sister walked in. She heard Jim's voice from the kitchen. And asked if it was Jim. So I put it on the TV for both of us to watch.😅 Good job to both of you.

Hello 👋 how are you doing today??
another great video and i understand about not doing a video every day some times we just need a breather and time to get things done
The foal's hooves are soft to prevent injury to the mare during birthing.
She is going to be soooo very smart.
All this patient work will be rewarded!
That mare was amazingly calm for such a young foal to be led away from her
It's all about trust, have a wonderful weekend UK ENGLAND
Yes, busy time of year. But you all are usually busy! What a beauty Brie is! She's finding out Jim even tastes good 😊. Thank you for the update. It's a wonderful beginning!

Aww Jim that is so cute of Bree giving you kisses on your hand. She loves and trust you. Also Brenda... Lady is very protective of her foal to whinny so quietly. Bree is looking so strong and filling out more. 3 weeks old this Saturday 17th June. God bless you both for sharing your videos and all the work you've doing with Bree ❤️❤️🙏🐎🐎
Beautiful training session and lady behaved (no surprise there,) if she wanted to she could easily yank the rope to get her filly outside with jim. This is testament to how jim trains his draft horses and how the trust is made between horse and owner.Thank you both especially Brenda who shares and creates these wonderful videos.😊❤👍👏🐴

That’s Jim’s baby for sure.
What a nice looking filly. You (Jim and Brenda) are doing so much to keep working horses a reality for the future
Hello 👋 how are you doing today??
Such a gorgeous foal! The white diamond and streak on her face and her lovely colour!
Hefty, a typical draft foal, reminds me of a baby moose!
Excellent training, Jim. I think Wee Bree will adjust to all of it as long as her mum, Lady is nearby.
I find the newborn foals' soft hoofs ( eponychium) just fascinating. Its purpose is to avoid injuring the mare's insides before birth. Amazing, nature!
beautiful,,the wonders of our great Creator...
Love ❤how Bree follows so well. ❤❤❤from Ontario Canada 🇨🇦
Jim, Brenda, thank you for sharing Bree's training session. Lady looks fantastic, and so does Bree. Jim, Nova Scotia, Canada. Stay Safe!

Hi Jim & Brinda, this is looking like how I learned to start a Colt. Nice and easy, making friends. Playful at times. Earning their Trust and confidence in you. It's a challenge to overcome a natural instinct to Hide with or behind Mom! Dune right you have a wonderful working companion.
I love to see how chunky they get in just a few short weeks. Great job Jim and Brenda. She's adorable and Lady is a wonderful Momma.

Gorgeous little gal and already doing so well. She’s smart and sweet. Trying to kiss Jim and say thanks. She looks so soft and strong. Nice neck. Would love to see videos of Brenda’s summer kitchen happenings and gardening and chickens and even 15 minutes of brushing the baby!❤
Bree is sooooo cute, love seeing her training.
Hello 👋 how are you doing today??
Brenda, I watched the video earlier, I was so proud of the new filly. I am not a horse person, but I do enjoy your channel. There are things that I enjoy about ya'll channel, yes I am from the South however watching your show makes me happy. I hope and pray that you and your family continue to be succes!
It's so nice that there videos make you happy.Such good people and the horses are beautiful and now little Filly Bree.Have a truly wonderful weekend UK ENGLAND
She's beautiful colt
Brenda and Jim, those "furry" feet are called foal slippers. It protects the mother during birth so the foal's hooves don't rupture anything. They fall off over time as the hooves get hard. As far as I know, that is the only purpose of it. And when she came out, they weren't furry but very soft and kind of spongy.
I do love the video seeing you train. Question, I have never seen a video of Jim doing any training or working with the young colts getting them ready for anything, do you work with them? Do you have any plans for them? They are just always out in the field.
Hello 👋 how are you doing today?
She’s a lovely filly and going to be easy to train by the look of it.❤
Great to see all this..thank you Brenda and Jim and Lady and Bree for sharing...nice day for all of you....from Egypt.
Very good lots of fun. Have a good day.
Bree is such a sturdy girl! So healthy looking! ❤❤❤ and those hairy feet are Foal Slippers. Natural things to protect Mom during birth. Great pic!!
Jim you are bringing the filly along so well. Your experience is paying off. She has no ribs showing. The soft hairy hooves are to prevent tearing of the birth sack on her way into this world. The clippers vibration and noise will be a good teaching tool. She appears to really enjoy Brenda’s presents. Look forward to seeing more foal videos. Thank you for sharing.🐴🐴
Hello 👋 how are you doing today??

Jim you are so good and patient! She looks great!😊
I loved seeing this!! So precious!! She has alot of good examples to follow--I'm proud of Lady for being such a good mom. I will enjoy seeing all the others at work again. But Bree is showing where they all started & now look at them! They are so blessed to have such a loving, caring place to call home!
Hello 👋 how are you doing today??
Beautiful Bree❤
Hello 👋 how are you doing today??
How fun. I wish I could come and play ,too. You can really see the growth in Bree and Lady is such a good mom. Thanks
I think Bree is in charge 😊
I love how you expose Bree to everything she will need to face in the future and allow her to have less trepidation in the future. I raised house rabbits and strange as it sounds , I would stick my index finger in their mouth so they learn very early not to bite, and are used to it. If they require a pill in the future you can push it back without getting bit. No fight or struggles with syringes either.
How cute!!!
Hello 👋 how are you doing today?
Well done Bree later tater love from Texas ❤
Hello 👋 how are you doing today?
... thank you for the time you share with us, I know you and Brenda have a lot of responsibilities ...
Simply amazing! Such a gentle touch but yet guided to achieve your goals.
While I'm trimming the mare l like to hold the clipper close to the foal. Sometimes I put the clipper on the foal and eventually rub it on her neck.
She seems to be a smart little girl! ❤️
It's amazing how fast she is growing.
Great video !
