It's all about the chilli on the jacket spuds
Jacket potatoes is our standard Sunday tea these days, always with cheese, and always a second topping, tinned stewed steak, chilli, salad or the like. Good luck with the new job, looking forward to the HIAB work. Garden centres are sometimes purveyors of good jacket potatoes, I usually cook ours in our Remoska, a tabletop cooker from Lakeland, about one hour 15 minutes for proper crisp skins.
The rest and be thankful, great name for an amazing road. It's one of the best I have been along for sure.
That hill one the A83. While you are climbing that long, straight hill, look down to the narrow road that meanders along the bottom of the valley. It is known as the "Old Military Road". Just imagine marching up that hill. The old road is extremely steep at the head of the valley. To this day, the car park at the top, where you can stop (in a car) and look back down the valley is known as "The Rest and Be Thankful".
Hgv baked potato. Wrap well in foil and stash in secure place under cab on toasty warm engine for the day
Jacket Potato - cook in microwave then cut in half and crisp up in a ridge monkey pan - works a treat!
Tom you have made my week with your vlog, hurry up with the next one. 😂😂
Beans and cheese on jackets definitely good luck with your new venture tom I've got a new venture too passed class 1 2 week ago and start today well excited and can't wait
Probably one of the best drives in Scotland... The Rest And Be Thankful. The roadworks are due to the landslide defences getring hammered about 18 months, 2 years ago and they've been putting extra strong defences in. Yet the road down the bottom OMR (or Old Military Road) is still used under convoy when it rains heavily. The views are just stunning. I've cycled it... driven it, and just love it.
As fer yer jacket spud debate... Chilli cheese and beans is my go to.
Should've added good luck wi'yer new job. Hope to see loads more content from yer. Did that muppet that took yer front wing off 6 months ago get stuffed for being an arse or whit? Yer never gave us an update...
Ahhh, the A83... rest and be thankful, used to drive up and down that loads to get to and from Glasgow. And Southampton haha, been all over my neck of the woods
Good to meet you today look forward to catching up with your journeys / vlogs (Salford - container)
Gotta love British weather aye 🤣🙈 you won't manage it in a hgv, but Tattie Tim in Penrith town centre has some next level jacket spuds! Proper oven cooked job
Good luck with the new job Big Daddy, looking forward to the crane content!
See you on these streets big fella. Keep doing what you do
As soon as this video started I knew it was the RABT, spent a lot of time sat in roadworks there lol. There's a snack van just after the roadworks that does an amazing roll and bacon and brie
Oh you were in Inverary - up from Loch Lomond haha we have a caravan at Loch Awe which is up through the arch at Inverary and some ways up the road.
they do frozen jacket potatoes get some in your freezer and bung them in your microwave, simples
Good luck Tom,onward and upwards mate
Farringdon's loss is your new employers gain / great content as always looking forward to seeing your new adventure stay safe
Jacket potato with Cheese, beans and coleslaw. Maybe with a bit of tuna if available. Chili is my second choice.
I did day-return work for around 3 years, but the commute every morning absolutely killed me!
Hope you're getting on well, mate.
Risby truck stop does jacket potatoes. Saw that and laughed as remembered this video @exceptforaccess
Good luck with the new job will look forward to what’s next in store with the vlogs Tom 👍
The rest and be thankful amazing road 🏴
When its open that is 😂
Good luck with the new job Tom and I hope you get the jacket potato when you got home Tom
Not going to lie, I was really hoping the punch line to the Baked Potato skit was going to be you turning up at some farm to offload 30 tones of washed spuds for some cows to eat 😂
"Spudulike" is missed by many Tom!
Good luck with new job
Good luck with the new job, looking forward to the first video from there. Hope you get your tattie before the next podcast is recorded too😂😂 have a good week
Love the video. Good to see someone car about the job an company.
Good luck with the next job
On THe jacket spud situation, you need, 1 piece of aluminium made into a largish tube to wedge between the turbo and the engine block, or exhaust pipe in a secure place, 2, one potato wraped in tin foil, put it in the tube when starting work, engine heat cooks potato, therefore this makes a brilliant lunch, heat beans in microwave and add cheese, it works well on a loading shovel engine so cant see alot of difference on a truck engine, good luck in your new job,
Good luck with the new job. Keep up the hard work with the videos.
Great vlog some amazing roads and concentration and different camera angles looking forward to the next video 📸🚚💨
those steel nets are indeed to catch rock slides,a regular road for me and i love it :)
Between 7am and 1pm Tue-Fri, the shack at Wigton next to the station does jacket pot's. Not far from Carlisle. Phone first though (FB) and for parking pull into the yard opposite behind the mill as though you're lost.
I'm watching this at 1:55am and I am craving a Jacket Potatoe 😂 going to bed after finishing watching your video, when I wake up a trip to my local Cafe is happening, I need a Jacket Potatoe in and around my face I need one in my life 😂.
Great video buddy and good luck with your new job, looking forward to watching new job vlogs.

It’s just a reminder for the potato looks like and salivate the time when you can have one in the meantime I hope you’ve probably had a potato enjoy them but don’t eat too many and especially if you have too much butter on. I’m led to believe that you can purchase them at Greggs just put it out there something to contemplate on but you never said that you would ever go back there there again what you say and what you do are two different things enjoy the videos appreciate them thanks keep them coming.
Great video Tom what lovely views at the beginning hope you can continue putting out videos in your new job good luck in your new job

To potato or not to potato, now that is the question......said Shakespeare probably never lol, but a jacket potato can be a good base for something edibly great 🙂
Improvements in the last 2 eps looking fantastic, next time is the first in the new job?

@@ExceptforAccess I didn't expect it to be that particular legend. Thank you sir!
Sooo, no mention of the wife at home. That not part of your life anymore? None of my business. Todd the retired trucker.
All this moaning about jacket potatoes, simply get those frozen ones then put them in the on board microwave, jeez how hard is that!🤦♂👍🤣🤣.Good luck in the new job hope you have acclimatized to the new 'rigid' regime. If you are going to be more 'local' Rex might get a chance to give you the nod. Respect Sir and love to the family.
